Virtual Smooches: Valentine's Day Decorations

Hello, friends:}

Today's my day to share a video over on the  Paper Smooches video blog- Virtual Smooches

Today I'm sharing my very first "live" video for 2014! I did have a couple of problems, but it's nothing compared to the OTHER issues I've been having! LOL! My lighting is a bit off...but it was dark out so I guess I should be recording during the day! I also had a hard time speaking- recording "live" is a bit more difficult than I remember! LOL! But I think other than that... I really like this new camcorder:) THANKS for all of your prayers!!!

Be sure to check out the  Virtual Smooches blog {HERE} for my videos and details!

Here's a sneak peek of my Valentine's Day decorations:

Paper Smooches SPARKS January Designer Drafts

Hello, friends:}

Today we start another weekly challenge over at Paper Smooches SPARKS blog!! This week we are sharing a DESIGNER DRAFT challenge.

This week we are inspired by the following sketch:
**Sentiments can be placed anywhere on the sketch.

I kind of went my own direction for this sketch- I know that doesn't really shock you! LOL!
I used an ampersand instead of a circle... I did add some "circles" with some random string...and I moved the sentiment onto the strip. Oh- and I made this card vertical but used the horizontal sketch! SOOOOOOOO.... I would say that I've followed this sketch about 87%!

That being said... I loooooooove this card! I LOVE the papers which are by American Crafts Polka Dot Party (and the Dear Lizzy project life coordinating pack). I used just a few Paper Smooches stamps including Squeaky Clean and the NEW Kissables 1 sets. I also die cut some images from the PS Documented set. LOVE x100000! My favorite parts of this card include the embossed vellum die cut ampersand, the Wink of Stella on the die cut heart, the gold brad and gold embossing powder (LOVE!), and the glossy accents on the die cut "us"- it's the perfect touch! I just LOVE this card!

That's it for me today--but be sure to stop by the other Paper Smooches SPARKS DT members' blogs, get inspired, and leave them some love

And don't forget to stop by the Paper Smooches SPARKS blog for more details!!!! This challenge ends February 1st. I cannot wait to see what you make!!!

Virtual Smooches: Start-to-Finish 2 cards (and a bit of card surgery)

Hello, friends:}

Today's my day to share a video over on the  Paper Smooches video blog- Virtual Smooches

Thank you for praying for my technical difficulties... I am STILL in need of prayer and really hope to be recording normal videos by next week!

Today I'm sharing a start-to-finish video that includes 2 cards that I shared earlier this week! The story behind these cards... well... it's LONG! Here's the best short version I can give: I started creating a card, but messed up my embossing after measuring the space for the alphas (I didn't remember where my mark was and thus ran out of room!). I began to pull the paper off the card and totally tore it up. So I stopped the video and started a new card... in the meantime, I had some issues with my camcorder running out of room and so I had to delete the first video....ONLY to find out that once I deleted this first video (which I needed for today's post) my original "deleted" video showed up! LOL! So after finding out that I had deleted something I needed and found something I lost... I started my third card which is technically the 2nd card for today's video. And that brings me to today....

I seriously hope that story made sense! LOL!

Be sure to check out the  Virtual Smooches blog {HERE} for my videos and details!

Ribbon Carousel + Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge (one card!)

Hello, friends:}

Have you played along with this month's Ribbon Carousel challenge yet??? This month's theme/challenge--- Love, Birthdays, and Chicken Soup

The beginning of the year is packed with family/friends' birthdays so I created a birthday card for my Father-in-Law for this challenge. This card is also perfect for the Paper Smooches SPARKS Anything Goes challenge! I LOOOOOOOVE Anything Goes-- it makes it so easy to enter:)

My FIL looooooves to hunt deer... turkey.... really anything! He loves to hunt- period! So I used a "deer" image for his birthday card. I thought this was a super cute little card because the deer was getting a present and the papers are super masculine... and I used gold embossing powder (MY FAV!!!!!!!).... but when I showed this card to Trav he instantly asked, "Is that a reindeer?" To which I couldn't respond because my mouth was open that he noticed! LOL! I thought I could pass a reindeer off as a regular old deer- GUESS NOT! LOL!
This card is very basic- I wanted to keep the masculine feel by not coloring or fussy cutting the "deer"/reindeer image... and I didn't want too many patterns cluttering up the design...so BASIC it is! I still love it:)

I used some old My Mind's Eye Gnome Sweet Gnome papers along with the Paper Smooches Enchanted Elves and Hullabaloo stamp sets. I also used the PS Ovals 1 and Elf Icons dies. And because I cannot help myself-- the gold embossing powder is by Imagine Crafts! You MUST get some! LOOOOOVE

That's it for me today--but make sure you stop by the RCC blog for more details for this challenge and DT inspiration!!! And click HERE to link up your creation!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Be blessed:}

Paper Smooches SPARKS Anything Goes (wk3) challenge

Hello, friends:}
Today we start another weekly challenge over at Paper Smooches SPARKS blog!! Another Anything Goes challenge starts today!
That's right--you get to create ANYTHING you want (as long as you use Paper Smooches stamps)!! This is the BEST challenge ever!!!

I have two cards to share… but will only be sharing one today! I'm sharing both in a video this Thursday on the Virtual Smooches blog! So be on the lookout:)

The papers are from the My Mind's Eye Gnome Sweet Gnome collection. I wanted to create a CAS + Masculine Valentine's day card!! I'm really into this type/theme card right now! LOL!
I used the Paper Smooches Happy Camper, Group Hugs, and Pretty Phrases stamp sets. I embossed the sentiment using my FAVORITE Gold embossing powder by Imagine Crafts! LOOOOOVE! I also die cut some gold hearts using the new PS Hearts dies. LOVE x1000000! I wonder who I could give this to for Valentine's day:)
You can really see that gold embossing powder and gold paper in this photo! OH MY--- I'm in LOVE:)

Reverse Confetti: Video and CAS card {post2}

Hello, friends:}

***Please click HERE for my Virtual Smooches video and post.

I'm sharing a video today using some NEW Reverse Confetti stamps and dies!

This card was inspired by the RC January Color Challenge {orange, yellow, aqua}.

This is a VERY simple card-- however, creating this video was not as EASY! LOL! I had some more technical difficulties! I have my fingers crossed that my "technical difficulties" will end TODAY! :)
So I stepped out of my comfort zone and created a CAS + Masculine Valentine's Day card using this color combo! I used the new RC Love Notes die along with the RC Crushin'Whole Lotta Hearts, and Lots to Say stamp sets. That's a lot of stamps for a CAS card! LOL!
I share (quickly) some techniques that I love- cutting my stamps apart and coloring vellum using inks.

Here's the video! Hope you enjoy:}

Virtual Smooches: Yearly Journal {post1}

Hello, friends:}

**After 6am EST- please click HERE for my Reverse Confetti post and video!

Today's my day to share a video over on the  Paper Smooches video blog- Virtual Smooches

Before we begin- I'm asking for prayer. Please pray with me for my videos and technical difficulties! I cannot explain to you how many issues I've had the past 3 weeks with my camera, camcorder, voiceovers, iMovie program..... and so much more! I would appreciate prayers for sanity, the issues to completely resolve themselves, and that I would enjoy making videos again! **Starting this month, I'm doing about 8 videos average per month! I better like making them and get these issues figured out SOON! LOL!

So today I created my 2014 Yearly Journal! OH MY! I looooove this journal! Great papers and colors, as well as die cuts and stamped images! LOVE LOVE LOVE! Best yearly journal YET!

Be sure to check out the  Virtual Smooches blog {HERE} for my videos and details!

Paper Smooches SPARKS Jan. Picture Perfect challenge

Hello, friends:}
Today we start another weekly challenge over at Paper Smooches SPARKS blog!! This week is a Picture Perfect challenge.

This week we are inspired by the following picture:

So I found lots of things to be inspired by from this photo:

  1. Cake- why does one have a cake? To celebrate... to celebrate a baby, wedding, birthday!
  2. The flowers
  3. Polka dots
  4. Colors- well... just the yellow/dots
So from all of that... I created the following card for our cousin's Grandma who is turning 90 this month! I used some Crate Paper Flea Market papers (inspired by the photo- flowers and polka dots) along with a random yellow pom pom ribbon that I had in my drawer (also inspired by the polka dots and yellow from the photo)! I die cut a banner using the Paper Smooches Flag Tag dies and stamped a sentiment from the PS Woofers & Tweeters set. I also stamped the number 90 tone-on-tone using Memento Angel Pink inks and the PS Digits set. I added a birdie paper clip and gold floss... and I was done! EASY:) OH! And I added some splatters using the Imagine Crafts Angel Pink Fireworks spray- LOVE! I also think this is the perfect entry for the Ribbon Carousel #89 challenge (Love/Birthday/Chicken Soup)! FAB

That's it for me today--but be sure to stop by the other Paper Smooches SPARKS DT members' blogs and leave them some love

And don't forget to stop by the Paper Smooches SPARKS blog for more details. This challenge ends January 18th. I cannot wait to see what you make--I actually can't wait to see what you are inspired by in this photo!!

THANKS so much for stopping by! Be blessed:}
