First of all...I have to explain-- I had to get a NEW blog site due to some issues. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my old site...but now you can leave messages all the time...you can see all the entries instead of just one at a time....as for the cool fonts and things that I usually use...I don’t know how that works yet--so if you have suggestions or ways to help me, PLEASE EMAIL ME:} I hope that you enjoy this blog as much as the other one!
Now on to our H{ippity} Hop!! Thanks for stopping by...I have been so busy with my Ippity and KOTM sets...I LOVE LOVE LOVE UNITY! and Ippity!
My first card was inspired by a sketch that I saw about five months ago--I know...I need to write down the site and person/group that inspired me...however, I threw away the paper and went from memory on the sketch! It included two different DPs with rounded corners and a saying on a strip of paper. I used the house from the Simply Home line. I also used the heart (my fav!!) from the Devoted Ippity set. I love the little scrapper’s floss on the heart. I also love these colors--red, purple, and orange.
My next card was a sad card to make-- my favorite professor, Dr. James Watson, passed away about two weeks ago. He was the BEST! I took his Physics 101 and 401 courses. He would teach physics by using toys- which we always got to keep!! He went ABOVE and BEYOND! Dr. Watson and his wife would visit Trav and I in FL...and even came to our wedding! Like I said, the BEST!
I also made this card for a friend of the family- her father passed around the same time. For both families, I wanted to make something special and soft. I love that blue--and the DP is so pretty too. I used the butterfly from the Devoted set and the sentiment from Just Wanted to Say.
Here is a pic of Dr. Watson and his wife visiting us a year or two ago.
Here are two other cards that I made this past week--they were for JUGS11 and IHHC2. Each one had to have a background made with stamps and use the chalkboard technique. On the snowman card--I stamped Ippity's Kissmas and Mistletoe snowflake with blue, white, and silver right on torn muslin. The butterfly card was created using the Devoted set. I love the colors on that card- soft...and yet paired with a bold and powerful verse.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards! I love the look the snowflake made on that muslin!! and that butterfly is my favorite stamp - I love stamping it on a tiny polka dot paper I found - too cute and easy to cut out. Great job on everything and the new blog looks great too.
ReplyDeleteOh wow! I love the new blog, and those cards are stellar. It's so hard to make condolence cards, but this is going to be so appreciated. Sad to hear of your professor's passing. Sounds like a great man!
