Hello, friends:}

I just saw this over on Creating with Chrissy's blog. Thanks for the reminder, Chrissy! I hope you don't mind if I repost this message!! [I guess that would be kind of like retweeting!].

Hello! Today is the National Day of Prayer! What a privilege we carry to be able to pray for those in our world!

"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." 2 Chron 7:14 (KJV)

Psalm 34:15-18 The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their cry; the face of the LORD is against those who do evil, to cut off the memory of them from the earth. The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

I am reminded of this beautiful hymn... What a Friend We Have in Jesus

What a Friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.

Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer.

Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge, take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do your friends despise, forsake you? Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He’ll take and shield you; you will find a solace there.

Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised Thou wilt all our burdens bear
May we ever, Lord, be bringing all to Thee in earnest prayer.
Soon in glory bright unclouded there will be no need for prayer
Rapture, praise and endless worship will be our sweet portion there.

Please take some time today to pray for our leaders and nation--God is good! And I know one day, we will again be "one nation under God". Thank you, JESUS!

Be blessed:}
Love, Sav

  5. It is so refreshing as we contemplate the power of prayer to actually pray for our leaders rather than 'slam' them. After all, the most powerful thing we can do is pray!

  7. Yes we must pray that our leaders humble themselves before our Lord-if we do not acknowledge that God is the true light of our nation, we are doomed. We must get back to the principles our founding fathers set forth in our founding documents-they were led by divine inspiration and they knew of the risks of forgetting from whom the prosperity we enjoy comes from. God bless our nation and our leaders...
