New Year's special using a Sweet Stamp Shop set

Hello, friends:}

I'm back with another Sweet Stamp Shop creation. It's my day over on the SSS blog--so be sure to stop by there and leave some love!

In honor of the new year...I have created a monthly journal for 2012. I know I've talked about monthly journals before--but just in case you've forgotten: monthly journals are just three sheets of paper with each date/month stitched into a journal. I use these journals for keeping track of important events and happenings throughout the year. For example- births, deaths, concerts, moves, job promotions, etc. I used to want to read these each Christmas when we decorated our Christmas tree (since we were going to buy a yearly ornament and read a yearly journal when we place that year's ornament on the tree)...but I've figured out that the perfect time to read through these journals is New Year's Eve!!! It's great to read through each year's happenings--I can see how far we've come or where we struggled or when we were blessed. It's so much fun!

Now on to my project....I used some Echo Park Style Essentials Upscale paper for the journal cover. I made ANOTHER SVG file that cut out the year. Then I got tricky and stamped the largest glasses image from my Sweet Stamp Shop Spectacle stamp set. Then I cut these images out and added black glitter. I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE how this turned out! **I usually make the front cover symbolic of what is going on in our life at the moment--so for 2012 I used the spectacle because Trav and I are FOCUSING on each other and sharing Jesus' love!!! The SSS stamp set was PERFECT for this front cover! And this 2012 monthly journal is perfect for the Paper Issues {numbers} and Simon Says Stamp {anything goes} challenges!!!

Inside--these pages are just stitched together.
**There is an envelope in the back (stitched in with the papers) for memorabilia and pictures.

That's it for me today--I just love love love using my SSS images--they are so versatile:)

Be sure to stop by the Sweet Stamp Shop blog for more info on this card and to see what the owner of SSSNicole, has been up to! And if you have some extra time, please stop by our YouTube channel (you can find my newest video there!!!), our FB page, follow us on Twitter  and link up any creations you have made using SSS images on Flickr

Thanks so much for stopping by! Be blessed:) HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!

Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge {12.29- 1.11}

Hello, friends:}

Today we start another photo inspired challenge over at Paper Smooches SPARKS blog.

I just love this inspirational photo/sentiment! I decided to make two cards for this week's challenge. For my first card....I was inspired by the rainbow colors. I know, I know--I'm always trying to think outside the box:) I used some of my old Jillibean Soup {Sesame Oil} and Echo Park {Sunshine} papers for the background. I added some sunshine rays using my Sassafras Marmalade paper. I stamped the  clouds from the Paper Smooches Forest Whimsy set. The sun and his glasses are from the PS Sunny Side Up set. I added the sentiment from the PS Word Salad set. Super fun--LOVE that sun and his grin!!!
This picture shows the card and dimension better:)

For my second card...I was inspired by the quote. I thought it would be different to make a card that "encouraged". The sentiment is stamped using the PS Alpha Dots stamp set. Hope is a stamp from the PS Hope set. I used some of my new papers from Crate Paper. And that ribbon--SO LUSH! It's available HERE from The Ribbon Carousel. LOVE!!!
I know you can't really tell in these photos, but it was stamped in hot pink and then I used a glaze pen over it. It looks so pretty in person! OY!

That's it for me today--but be sure to stop by the other Paper Smooches SPARKS DT members' blogs and leave them some love

And don't forget to stop by the Paper Smooches SPARKS blog for more details. This challenge ends January 11th. I cannot wait to see what you make!!!

THANKS so much for stopping by! Be blessed:}

Paper Made Bakery--Guest Designer 4

Hello, friends:}

I'm back with my last post as Paper Made Bakery Guest Designer. I have really enjoyed working with PMB and Shannon--THANK YOU so much for this great opportunity!

I wanted to make something different for my last post--so I altered a clear frame from the dollar store. I used my PMB December kits {available HERE}. LOOOOOOOVE how this turned out!

I altered the frame by flipping it down and making it into post-it note desk caddy [name given by Trav:)]. I used my papers from the December kits paper pad {My Mind's Eye Honey Cake}--love this dark brown and pink color combo! That peach/rose ribbon, lace, and buttons from the December kits made the perfect cluster!!! I made a small banner and used some leftover alphas to add the initials of my friend (Melissa won #1 teacher last year--and I figured this would be PERFECT for her!). I stamped some of the post-it notes with the flower stamp from the kit {Memory Box}. LOVE LOVE LOVE this project! ETA:: My great friend, Angi, reminded me that this frame is PERFECT for the LESSology challenge #8!!!! HOOOOORAY:) It's my first time playing along with them!!! THANKSAngi!!!
That's it! I still have SEVERAL full sheets of paper, buttons, and lots of ribbon and twine leftover from my kit!! This kit was super fun to play with!!!

Please make sure you stop by the PMB blog {HERE} and check them out on Facebook {HERE}. And get this--PMB has a Twitter page!! Be sure to follow them there! LOVE all these ways to stay in touch with this fabulous company!! ***ETA::: HERE is a link to past kits that are on sale!! LOVE a good deal:)

GIVEAWAY******Be sure to become a fan on Facebook--there's a giveaway once they get 100 fans {they are SOOOO close!!}!!! Be sure to like them and share it on Facebook for a chance to win!!!!

ps...Thanks for all your wonderful wishes to get well. I felt better for about 24 hours and then it hit me again. My throat is swollen and it's hard to swallow. I am also very tired--but I think that's because I haven't done much all week! LOL! THANKS again for your prayers:)

PDCC #112

Hello, friends:)

We are starting another color story today over on the  Play Date Cafe blog! This week's colors are fun and perfect for Christmas-- Deep Red, Lime, Pine, Egg Nog. Our sponsor this week is Lil' Inker Designs. And...this is a 2 week challenge!!!

The PDCC DT was super lucky to receive some Lil' Inker Designs stamps and dies to play with--I received this fun Jingle Joy die set. I knew I wanted to make a Christmas card using my new Authentique Wonder collection papers....and while looking at these stamps and dies--I realized that the "J" looked like a candy cane! PERFECT:) So I made a gingerbread man holding a candy cane with two more creating a heart at the bottom. LOOOOOOOOVE how this turned out! And those ribbons and twine....available at the Ribbon Carousel! LOVE that red ribbon--I actually distressed it so it looked more cream than white. I also used the Authentique sketch challenge for my card design--I think I actually left this sketch alone! LOL!
That's it for me....but be sure to stop by the PDCC blog for complete details and prize information! The PDCC sponsor this week is Lil' Inker Designs. Be sure to link up your creations by Tuesday, January 3rd, 2012 at 11:59pm EST. This is a 2 week challenge!!!

Thanks for stopping by! Be blessed:}
