PDCC #49

Hello, friends:}

Today starts another Play Date Cafe challenge! LOVE LOVE LOVE this challenge blog--great DT and wonderful color combos!!
Our sponsor this week is Pat Huntoon with Technique Junkies. The Technique Junkies Newsletter was started in 2002 as a resource for Rubber Stamping Techniques. This newsletter is published every-other month, featuring 15 or more stamping techniques in a step-by-step format. Pat has graciously given the DT a new technique to use for this week's challenge. This technique will be featured in the 10/10 newsletter! This technique was the "clipping" technique which added lots of room for creativity and your images! SO FUN!! And Pat will be giving one of our lucky players a three year online subscription. The winner will have access to the 2009-2011 issues---nearly 300 Technique Tutorials. Thanks so much, Pat and Technique Junkies!!!

This week, Sarah Anderson, shared with us a beautiful color palette: teal, hot pink, rusty orange, and chocolate brown. LOVE these colors together! I used the technique found in the 10/10 issue of Technique Junkie's newsletter. This technique allowed for lots of creativity and can be used with LOTS of different stamp sets!! I wanted my bird [Basic Grey stamp] to be the focus on that teal paper. And with this technique, I was able to highlight it by cutting around the image. My first try at this card is shown in this first picture {which you can see the full effect of the technique}. I was going to add the sentiment and some rusty orange ribbon by American Crafts at the bottom....then I started to think I wanted to make the bird pop a bit more. I found {under a pile of scraps} this fab orange paper and made the bird 3D!! LOVE it:) This card is also in the mail---headed to my PDCC DT friend, Sue!! Happy birthday, again!!!
First take--love that bird!! And the ribbon and sentiment would have been on the bottom...but then I made the bird pop...
That's it for me today--but be sure to stop by all the other PDCC DT members' blogs!! The team blew me away with this technique!! WOW! You have got to see these creations--LOVE IT!

EIC #107 {Indigotwin}

Hello, friends:}

Today starts another fabulous challenge over at the EtsyInspired blog!! This week's featured shop is Indigotwin--what a FUN shop! I was inspired by about twelve creations... but I only had time to make three cards! Indigotwin makes paper clay folk art sculptures. And one winner will receive this "sweet" cupcake and set of four gift tags. LOVE it!

Our sponsor this week is Blackleaf. So many cute images, borders, and patterns on this site! You have got to check it out:} And one winner will receive this super cute flip flop clip art. SO FUN!

My first card was inspired by this sheep....so so so adorable. I actually can't share my creation--I've got an idea and it is super cute! I just can't share it with you...finger's crossed it might be picked for submission! I can tell you that I used my Unity stamps for it! LOVE it!! I will share it ASAP (or as soon as it is rejected!).

This next card was created after seeing this cute October home decoration piece. I am not a fan of Halloween...but I really liked the stack of pumpkins and the glittery green. Well...I started to make this card and I didn't even add any green (other than the wire near the stem of the pumpkins). I still love the way this card turned out! I used my new Sept. KOTM from Unity [pumpkins]--and I stamped the Unity music background inside of the pumpkins with my old paper distress ink (not sure if you can see it, but it is super cute in person). I also used my Unity 100% Happy set for the "FUN" bingo card behind the spellbinder tag. The sentiment is from Ippity's That's Creepy! SO SO SO in love with this card! I was inspired by Melissa Phillips halloween card. LOVE it!!

My last card is my FAV FAV FAV! I love this card---I love owls! I just can't stop using this cute Unity August KOTM owl. So sweet:} I was inspired by this owl trio. Originally I wanted to make all three of these owls...but I love how this turned out with just one. I also used Unity's Christmas Bough for the sentiment. So fun! I love that santa hat--that fluff is by heating up some liquid applique! ACK--just love it! I actually think that this owl almost matches perfectly the one in the inspiration photo! And this card was created for the Jolly Holiday Greeting Card challenge over on Moxie Fab. I normally don't start making my Christmas cards until the week before! So this was a fun challenge;}
That's it for me today! I am so glad you stopped by. Be sure to stop by all the other EtsyInspired DT members' blogs for more super cute creations! I just love visiting these ladies' blogs--TALENTED:}

a special day....and FWF {Sept. 24} plus...triple day for CSN giveaway

Hello, friends!!

**$60 CSN giveaway instructions HERE! More chances to win today!!! All comments must be on THIS post.

Today is soooooo special! It's my dear friend's birthday--HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JULIE!!! Be sure to stop by her blog and leave her some LOVE--plus, she is doing GROWING IN UNITY this week--so all your comments will be entered in a drawing for FREE Unity stamps! LOVE it! HAPPY BIRTHDAY HAPPY BIRTHDAY HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JULIE!

Today is also FWF--love love love FWF! It's my way of linking up with Unity and sharing all my creations. I want to say THANK YOU to all who were inspired and created a card for the FWF challenge last week--I was honored that this card {to the right} was the inspiration piece:} I have waited for this FOREVER! HOOOOORAY! I was actually going to play along--but I didn't know if that was legal:)

My first card was featured on the CARDS blog yesterday. Paige set up another awesome challenge- to create a card with a pocket. I love this gift card pocket that I made. I love the notches on the sides and the string to tie this pocket up. That is actually how it is staying together--I didn't use any glue. LOVE it! I used several of my Unity stamps {I like to combine sets! SO FUN!}--butterfly [Unity's Butterfly Garden], flowers [Unity's Everything Extraordinary] and the sentiment is from Ippity's Totally Happy set. LOVE it!

This next card was created for the Hip Hop sketch challenge last week. I LOOOOOOOOVE this card too! I love the sketch--and I made it my own. I rotated the sketch, and I used two Tim Holtz tickets and a sentiment [Ippity's Life is the Journey set] instead of three buttons. I also made the oval into a tag. I love that bike stamp [Unity's August 09 KOTM]. The papers I used were from the Recollections "I Wanna Ride" line. LOVE it! Then I thought that the tag was a bit bare--so I added that circular tab and stamped Unity's Amazing Me number 1. LOVE LOVE LOVE this card!
**NOTE:: This photo is much better than the one in SCS!!

And my last card is super duper cute too--I just love anything with Unity and Ippity stamps! I made this card for the Limelight sketch challenge last week. Mandy, owner of Limelight, is expecting {3rd baby!!}--so I used that as my inspiration as well! I love this card--Limelight always has an extra element to their sketches; this week we were to use tags. So I made that square piece into a tag and went from there--the sentiment is from Unity's Our Life Our Stories. The sheep is a part of Unity's Love Ewe set. I don't know if you can see the background paper--in each of the little flowers there is a blue dot. I popped those with matching glitter. It looks so cute! LOVE LOVE LOVE it!
That's it for me today! Be sure to stop by the Unity blog for a complete list of friends with flair! Love it--and be sure to look for the blinkie--you could win some FREE Unity!

Don't forget that All Things Unity is having a challenge supporting Breast Cancer Research. Head on over to the ATU blog for deets! This challenge ends Saturday, October 2!!

And just so you know--my CSN Store giveaway is still going on! You have until Saturday, Sept. 25 to leave your comments. Today is a special day---there are THREE more ways to enter today! So be sure to head HERE for that $60 giveaway! I just love free stuff! Love CSN!!

This week we have a beautiful photo inspiration. The colors are dark purple, lime green, and grey. I love it! Love those lockers on the wall! I want some:} Our sponsor this week is Crafty Individuals. So many fun images and stamps! The PDCC DT was lucky enough to score a set to play with. My stamp set had four squares with butterflies. Of course, I picked stamps with butterflies! LOVE it:} My picture doesn't show the background cardstock well--it's grey not lavender. I love how this mini card turned out. I just love mini cards in general!!
That's it for me today--but be sure to stop by all the other Play Date Cafe DT members' blogs for some more crafty inspiration. So beautiful!!
