Today starts another Play Date Cafe challenge! LOVE LOVE LOVE this challenge blog--great DT and wonderful color combos!!
Our sponsor this week is Pat Huntoon with Technique Junkies. The Technique Junkies Newsletter was started in 2002 as a resource for Rubber Stamping Techniques. This newsletter is published every-other month, featuring 15 or more stamping techniques in a step-by-step format. Pat has graciously given the DT a new technique to use for this week's challenge. This technique will be featured in the 10/10 newsletter! This technique was the "clipping" technique which added lots of room for creativity and your images! SO FUN!! And Pat will be giving one of our lucky players a three year online subscription. The winner will have access to the 2009-2011 issues---nearly 300 Technique Tutorials. Thanks so much, Pat and Technique Junkies!!!
This week, Sarah Anderson, shared with us a beautiful color palette: teal, hot pink, rusty orange, and chocolate brown. LOVE these colors together! I used the technique found in the 10/10 issue of Technique Junkie's newsletter. This technique allowed for lots of creativity and can be used with LOTS of different stamp sets!! I wanted my bird [Basic Grey stamp] to be the focus on that teal paper. And with this technique, I was able to highlight it by cutting around the image. My first try at this card is shown in this first picture {which you can see the full effect of the technique}. I was going to add the sentiment and some rusty orange ribbon by American Crafts at the bottom....then I started to think I wanted to make the bird pop a bit more. I found {under a pile of scraps} this fab orange paper and made the bird 3D!! LOVE it:) This card is also in the mail---headed to my PDCC DT friend, Sue!! Happy birthday, again!!!
First take--love that bird!! And the ribbon and sentiment would have been on the bottom...but then I made the bird pop...
That's it for me today--but be sure to stop by all the other PDCC DT members' blogs!! The team blew me away with this technique!! WOW! You have got to see these creations--LOVE IT!Pat Huntoon {Guest Designer}
