I've got another Paper Made Bakery Guest Designer project to share today--and I have a feeling that I might have more coming!! I used my PMB January kit {available HERE} to create two more cards. I also created a video tutorial on how to dye the seam binding ribbon that is in this kit.
I have a funny story about my first card. I created the video {linked below} and dyed my ribbon...after it dried I was going to use it on a card...so I designed this card and finished it thinking to myself, "This is SUPER cute! LOVE it!" Only to look at it again and smack my forehead---NO RIBBON! I still love this card though:) I love that die cut of the bird with the birds on a wire stamped in the negative spot {Sentimental Birds by Sweet Stamp Shop}. Everything on this card is from the January PMB kit- except those letters (which I found in my alpha drawer). LOVE LOVE LOVE!
Sorry for the pinkish tones in this photo!
For my second card (and the card featured in the video), I used the Authentique sketch challenge as my inspiration. I did change the sketch a bit--well, I didn't change it, I just made it my own! Again--everything from this card was in the PMB January kit. I LOOOOOOOOOVE this card too! I really do!
And here's the video that I created--I really like it! I didn't think of this technique....there are so many ways (and other videos) on how to dye ribbon on the web. I used the technique that was shared by a good friend, Lin. **Also, this technique worked really well with the ribbon in the PMB January kit! OHHH! I love it!
That's it for me today. Please make sure you stop by the PMB blog {HERE} and check them out on Facebook {HERE}. And check out PMB on their Twitter page!! Be sure to follow them there too! LOVE all these ways to stay in touch with this fabulous company!! Plus, HERE is a link to past kits that are on sale!! LOVE a good deal:)
That's it for me today! THANK YOU for stopping by! Don't forget to stop by the Paper Made Bakery blog and leave some love there:) Be blessed!
Oh my goodness, LOVE this video segment, I have 24 DISTRESS INKS, AM I GOING TO HAVE SOME FUN (as soon as I get the ribbon!) I just may head to town tomorrow!!!! This would work with Distress Stains, too wouldn't it?! So I probably have 30 color more colors to choose from!!
ReplyDeleteBtw, your card is so cute even without the ribbon (ha!)
great video, savannah! love the cards, esp. the second one! happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous! I loveeeeeeeee the colors and loving the negative bird on the first one! :):):):):):):):):):):)
ReplyDeleteThese are great! I really LOVE that second card. Love the staples and the dyed ribbon (great video btw). Love those stamp dies too. Oh, and congrats on making the Whisker Graphics team...you are everywhere!
ReplyDeleteMorning, girly I luv coming to your blog. There is always a yummy project to be inspired by. You rock. I'm loving the second card that has the chipboard stamps. Are the stamps die-cut from a machine??

ReplyDeleteWhat pretty cards!! The design on the first one is awesome, love the patterned paper blocks. And I love that big bow on the second one and the postage stamps!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards Sav! I love what you've done with this kit! It's fantastic!
ReplyDeleteHey Sav -- fantastic cards and the video is awesome. I'm inspired to make some of my own pretty colored ribbon. I've seen several tutorials for doing this, but I have to say that yours seems the easiest of all. Cool!
ReplyDeleteTwo fab card, I love the papers, and the sketch you used, just love those birds on a wire!
ReplyDeleteYou're amazing, Sav! These cards are stunning. I absolutely adore that second one with the stamps. You are really rockin' that PMB kit!
ReplyDeleteThe colors and patterns of these papers are really gorgeous, Sav, and I love how you combined them.
ReplyDeleteLove the postage rectangles on the second card! So beautiful! Maybe you need to go work for the post office. ;)
LOVE how you die cut the bird and have the birds on the line peeking through! LOVE the second one how you combined the papers and cut out the tiny birds! LOVE the dyed ribbon! JUST FAB cards!
ReplyDeleteFirst card -- you have an alpha DRAWER? How cool is that? and I can't tell you how many times I have a card element in my head that never actually makes it to the card. Ribbon or no -- love it! The birds in the bird: awesome. Second card: equally awesome -- I love the postage stamp elements and the colours.
ReplyDeleteFabulous tutorial, Sav! This is a great idea as I have so many ink pads and I was thinking that I needed to use re-inkers to dye my own seam binding. Your way is so much more convenient! Now I just need to get myself one of those non-sticky mats! Oh, and I love the cards that you made with your homemade ribbon...you have such a way with color combinations! Fantastic!
ReplyDeleteYou cracked me up about the no ribbon on the first card! You made some awesome cards, girl! I clicked over to the blog and was ooo'ing and ahh'ing. I love how different they look from each other!
ReplyDeleteOooo! These are so fun! LOVE the bird cut-out, and those randomly placed stamps are amazing! Oh! And that's not to say anything about those absolutely delicious colors!
