Hello, friends:}
We are starting another color story today over on the Play Date Cafe blog! This week's colors are flaming pink, bright orange, white.
I love this color story--the hot pink and orange are PERFECT together. I wanted to making something spring or summer like...I had three cards (with a carrot) in mind...but then I remembered that I wanted to make a Christmas card with non-traditional colors (plus, Ashley and I were talking about it the other day)...and that is where I got my inspiration!
I created a Christmas card from Florida using this weeks PDCC color story--perfect for a non-traditional Christmas card {and a bit late for the Paper Crafts magazine call! DRATS!}. LOOOOOOVE that Santa with his bathing suit bottoms! I actually masked this image {Paper Smooches Santa Paws} several times to get him to have a bald head, longer shorts, no cuffs, no eyes, etc. I love how he turned out! I also used the oval shadow from the PS Vogue Abode set as his surf board. Actually, I used several other PS stamp sets: Chubby Chum Pals, Get Outta Town, and Surf & Turf. LOVE this card! **I really wanted to put "Happy Holidays from Florida {our happy place}" as the sentiment...but it was too long. EH. Also, the gems are hot pink and orange--in the pic they look maroon....double eh!
Santa is actually on a pink surf board! LOL!
That's it for me....but be sure to stop by the PDCC blog for complete details and prize information! Be sure to link up your creations by Tuesday, April 24th at 11:59pm EST. I cannot wait to see what you make!!!

Savannah - This is so darned cute I can hardly stand it. I love the combination of sets that you used to create this guy. Fabulous take on the challenge. Just cruised through your blog - your work is just so wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI love the whimsy of your Santa. My 2nd grade students research states, and one of their assignments during the holidays is to combine a holiday character with a local attraction. Then, one of my 4th grade students found out that in Australia Santa comes in a surf board. Your Santa would be a perfect example for both. Blessings!
