Have you played along with this month's Ribbon Carousel challenge yet??? The RCC is now doing monthly challenges with a huge prize at the end for one lucky player!!! The prize::: a ribbon carousel!!!!!! This month's theme/challenge--- Fun in the Sun!
So I am still going strong with my "self challenge" of using up papers, embellishments, and ribbons in my stash-- this card was created using ONLY paper and stickers by Echo Park (and a metal tag... and mini staples)! All from my stash! HOOOOORAY! The twine is from my Whisker Graphics divine twine collection-- that I refuse to use because it's so pretty stacked up together. LOL!
I know how teachers don't really get to relax and enjoy their summers off because they are taking continuing education courses, finding new ideas for management/etc, creating decorations or buying decorations/supplies for the classroom, and finishing up grades or turning in forms/etc for the office **some might even be moving schools or changing grade levels and learning NEW stuff to teach. Teachers NEVER stop! And that's what inspired my card-- I pray that all my friends that teach would actually relax and enjoy this summer :)

This is also a larger card than I'm used to! It measures 6 inches high!
Not only is your card charming (wow - your stash looks awesome!!), but your reason behind creating it is ever so heart-warming and thoughtful! It's true: a teacher's job doesn't end the minute school lets out for the day, the week, or the holiday! We both know that experience well Ever have the 'teacher dreams' where kids are totally out-of-control?? Every teacher should receive a card like yours - and follow the advice!! Have a most excellent Tuesday!

Cute summer card, I like the metal tag!!
ReplyDeleteThis carousel actually looks pretty easy to make, but I'd really love to win one, already played. I LOVE your card, the flip-flops and tag are PERFECT! Now I was to go and do just that, relax and enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI like the way the letters aren't cut out... The middles are still in place. Kinda like I'm relaxing, I don't have time to pop those out. It really suites the theme well!
ReplyDeleteToo bad you had to break up your "twine tower" a little bit there, but this was well worth it. I absolutely LOVE this card (I know I say that about all your cards, but I really mean it this time). I love the way you did the lettering and the flip flops are such a nice touch; the composition with the colors is great!
ReplyDeleteGreat card!

ReplyDeleteside note - i laughed when i saw that you didn't want to use your twine because it all looks so nice together...i'm totally that way!! heaven forbid something scrappy comes in a rainbow of colors - i must have them all (or want to have them all!!) because it looks so nice together!! :)
