Ribbon Carousel #84 and Reverse Confetti {post1}

Have you played along with this month's Ribbon Carousel challenge yet??? The RCC is now doing monthly challenges with a huge prize at the end for one lucky player!!! The prize::: a ribbon carousel!!!!!! This month's theme/challenge--- Summertime Fun! 

It is def. summer here-- we are in the high 90s and 100+ degrees! That kind of sucks for me because I have a random rash called Pityriasis Rosea (doctors don't know what is caused by and there isn't a real treatment for it... it will last for about 6-8 weeks. I'm praying it goes away after 2!), and this rash is irritated by heat! So I am staying indoors as of late! 

But that doesn't mean I can't join in the fun with the RCC#84 challenge:) I created this super cute card using my Reverse Confetti I Like You and Arrows 'n Elements stamp sets. I looooooove how I masked the "sunshine" sentiment-- super hard but totally worth it! **I used the "sunny days", "shopping", and "chocolate" stamps for this masked sentiment!!! I also used some new journalling cards by Me & My Big Ideas. LOVE these colors together! The twine is from The Twinery (Flax).

Mama Elephant Highlight: Foodie {post2)

Again... I'm trying to use more papers from my stash-- so I pulled out some Basic Grey PB&J papers for this card (SOOOOOOO appropriate since the set we are highlighting today is FOODIE  LOL!). I wanted to get fancy with this little critter from the ME Up & Away set, so I fussy cut him, added flocking, and then put the mini spoon from the ME Foodie set in his hand! ACK! ADORBS! I love the diag for the sentiment and how I used the plate on the envelope for the recipient's name. LOVE LOVE LOVE this card all around! 

ACK! Look at the flocking-- SOOOOOO cute! And I love that this little guy is holding a spoon!

Paper Smooches SPARKS August Cool Shades challenge {post1}

Today we start another weekly challenge over at Paper Smooches SPARKS blog!! The third week of the month is always a Cool Shades challenge.  

This week we are inspired by the following color story "Sizzle"

Cocoa, Coral, Kraft, Yellow

I'm not sure how to describe my card today.... it was created for some a friend of ours. Our bass player in the worship band lost his wife to cancer last week. It's soooo sad but I know exactly where she is right now- looking into the face of Jesus! Being a believer, I know that when I die, I will be in Heaven with Jesus! And my family can rest assured that I will not be in pain anymore (if I die from cancer/etc.).... I will be dancing in Heaven's streets praising the Lord:)  So needless to say, this card means so much to me.

For my design, I layered several Crate Papers (Paper Heart collection) with some random washi tapes (including gold and coral) and splattered nail polish (I had to use what was on hand! LOL!)! I stapled on a bundle of thread and attached two glittered feathers at the end. ****NOTE: I have got to give a HUGE shout out to Heather for sharing that this feather is found in the Paper Smooches Calico set! It's actually a LEAF! I am hitting my head because I didn't see that! I've been looking forEVER for a feather stamp that I love.... and now I've found it! THANKS, Heather  I also stamped some chevrons from the PS Borderlicious set, as well as a sentiment from the Spiritual Sampler set. I really do love this card-- it's just soooooo hard to give to our friend :(

Mama Elephant Highlight: Message Bands

I pulled out my fav papers by Crate Paper for this card-- I LOOOOOOVE the flowers with the stripes and the color combo is my FAV!!! I wanted to use one of the ME Message Bands as the title for this card... and then I masked the ME Papa Love, So Breezy, and On Target for the rest of the sentiment. LOVE how this turned out-- SUPER SUPER cute!

Mama Elephant Highlight: Bootastic

I'm trying to use up some old papers from my stash and esp. ones that are holiday themed (I never really make holiday cards.... ESP. Halloween ones. LONG story... no one has time for that!)! I'm in love with the polka dots and the dark purple papers that I've used for this card-- I think that May Arts Ribbon matches perfectly and really helps make that sentiment pop! I used several images from the ME Bootastic set. I love that little mummy-- how cute is he!!!!!! ACK! And that glittered bat is one of my favs.... he actually is quite detailed but when I added glitter it covered it all up. Guess I'll have to use it again on another card to show you what I'm talking about! LOL!

I'm in LOOOOOOOOOOVE with my card for today's hop! I love these journaling card by Echo Park-- and the little embellishments that match (I actually bought those six years ago! HOOOOOORAY for using something out of my stash!)!!! I used the NEW ME Foodie and Many Thanks sets for this card. I also added more sentiments from the ME Type It and Cup of Wishes sets. LOVE LOVE LOVE how this turned out! I just wish the photos looked better:( 

This first photo is a new one from this morning-- hope it shows the colors better.

A Reverse Confetti card {post1}

I had some more time this week to get creative with my Reverse Confetti's stamps and decided to create a fun birthday card I'm really getting a pile of bday cards-- that's great because I'm always late when sending them! LOL!  

I used some super old papers from my stash-- I love the rainbow colors with the woodgrain paper... and I LOVE this sketch! SUPER CAS but with lots of color and pop!!! I used only one RC stamp set (Celebrate Cake). I hardly ever do that! LOVE x10000000! I actually love the vellum chevrons and those mini staples! LOVE this card so much! Now.... who will get it? LOL!
