Paper Smooches SPARKS September Picture Perfect challenge

Hello, friends:}

Today we start another weekly challenge over at Paper Smooches SPARKS blog!! This week is a Picture Perfect challenge.  

This week we are inspired by the following picture:

I was drawn to the shape of this toy. I couldn't decide if I wanted to use triangles (from the Geobasics or Design Motifs sets) or hexagons! I think that both would have looked awesome with my card design, but I ended up going with the PS Artisan Blocks set and the hexagon/honeycomb stamp! 

I used some of my FAVORITE Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko inks and embossing powder to create the hexagon design on transparency paper. I also used some Chickaniddy Date Night collection pieces/papers--- LOVE!!!!!!!!!! And to finish the card, I die cut the PS Happy Birthday Words and a gold Heart. Easy and soooooooo perfect for our friend, Jarred! It's his birthday in two weeks ***NOTE: I'm ahead of schedule! LOL!

Virtual Smooches: CAS Masculine card (Try #2)

I actually had an idea and video recorded, but the video was the WORST! So I scrapped that and made another video... but then got busy with life that I didn't post it! I finally had time yesterday to voiceover this video so I could share with you today:) 

I'm doing AWESOME on my challenges: more masculine and CAS cards, as well as using up my stash.

Chickaniddy: August Card Sketch

Today I'm sharing the full post that was featured over on the Chickaniddy blog this week. You can check it out HERE! 

I love that sketches "inspire" us--- and for me, this means that on an average I use the sketch less than 75%! LOL! However, for August's sketch, I think I followed it about 85%! I didn't really change much:)  

This sketch was just so easy to follow! And I LOOOOOOOVE how the Chickaniddy Date Night papers and stickers made it easy to create this card. The patterned papers and colors are my FAVORITE! 

To help with the placement of the alpha sticker sentiment, I used the (old) trick of placing each letter on a thin piece of post-it note and then rubbing baby powder on the back. This deactivates the sticky/sticker and allows me to move it around on my card for the best placement!

Chickaniddy Birthday {post1}

Today I'm sharing an extra creation that I made using some of my Chickaniddy papers and embellishments! 

Today is also my Mom's birthday--- HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOM!!!!!!! Now you might already know who this birthday card is for! :)

I went with a simple design of layering several Chickaniddy Twirly Girly papers as my cardbase. Next, I added the large cake sticker and a banner with some fun brads and gold thread in a cluster. To finish my card, I added one of the super cute silhouette stickers to the left side of my card. I love this silhouette-- it reminds me of my Mom (strong and beautiful- and it just looks like her! Well, at least when I was growing up!).

I was on the Chickaniddy blog the other day (HERE).


I'm sharing two cards that are perfect for the SUMMER:) Usually during the summer months, we would rather be outside in the sunshine or at the beach instead of in our craft rooms! So these cards are CAS and can be easily mass-produced to send sunshine to all of your friends and family!!!

Chickaniddy Crafts: Pinspiration Recap

Earlier this week, I was on the Chickaniddy blog--- check it out HERE:) I've been inspired by the Chickaniddy Pinterest July 2014 Mood board!

I was inspired by the first picture with the squares and doodle lines. It instantly reminded me of stitching and so I got out my sewing machine!

I used a couple of Chickaniddy patterned papers from the Date Night collection for my base and center design. I also added some banner flag ends to the sentiment using some yellow striped papers in the Twirly Girly collection. I LOOOOOOOVE those brads and how everything ties together, as well as matches the Pinterest photo! 

This card was super easy to create! 

1. Cut 1 1/4" squares from patterned paper and adhere to card base.
2. Stitch around squares and card base (twice if needed).
3. Add brads to left corner.
4. Create sentiment using stickers and patterned paper. 

EASY!
