2026: Thanks So Mush (again) [Card #167]

Hello again, sweet friends!
So this card might look familiar... similar to THIS card.

Well... there's MORE to the story...

The card I made for our friend, John, took four tries for the background and four MORE tries for the mushrooms. The background wasn't working for me, not sure why, but I ended up with the fourth try and then stamped on two other ones not thinking about saving them. That is out of character for me, as I LOOOOOOOOOOVE using up scraps! LOL

As for the mushrooms- I don't like mushrooms. This made me nervous to color them. And it showed in the first three tries for yesterday's card. On John's card, I ended up fussy cutting the mushrooms and highlight coloring. I think it turned out AMAZING

So skip forward a day or two... and I was looking at the ruined scraps... I decided to make another similar card. This time I conquered my mushroom coloring fear! I think I nailed this coloring--- I'm still a newbie but really learning how to color! Plus, I love the blues and pop of red for that snail!

I honestly might love this card more than the one I was inspired by! LOL!

That's it for me today.

THANKS so much for stopping by! MORE to come 💌

2026: Shell-ebrating My Friend's Birthday [Card #159]

Hello, friends!
It is my friend's birthday TODAY. Unfortunately, she works way too hard, and I was ill... so we missed each other and can't celebrate her special day until this weekend. Shell-ebrate YOU, Julie! Happy birthday 🎉

A little background for this card- I was inspired by a card design using some Hero Arts mermaid/crab image and card. I loved the pink background and blue sea so I used that as my base. I had this mermaid image for awhile and decided to color it up. Coloring people/skin/hair.... NOT my favorite! I'm still a newbie! But I think it turned out ok-- hopefully Julie likes it too!!! LOL :) #SavannahLearnsToColor 🖍️

That's it for me today.

THANKS so much for stopping by! MORE to come 💌

Be blessed ❤️

2022: Marriage Week Day 7 [card #41]

Hello again, sweet friends! Happy Marriage Week❤️

It's the last day of Marriage Week... my goal is to make one more card so I can finish up by celebrating Valentine's Day as well! And today is actually World Marriage Day--- so join with me and celebrate your love and marriage today!

Marriage Week Day 7: today's card is a bit of a disappointment-- Trav walked into my studio when I was making this card 🤦🏼‍♀️ To cover up my surprise I told him I was making love/Valentine's Day cards for a challenge. OY! So to make it look like I was entering a "challenge" I had to make two of these designs- that's why the card number count for this year has jumped two from yesterday's post!

Trying to keep these a secret has been hard! I'm disappointed that he's already seen it and that I lied about it; I'm sure he has already forgotten about it and will understand my white lie:)
As you can see... I love my patterned papers and layers! I'm digging into my roots again! It feels nice to be back in the groove.
I found more inspiration from the World Wide Web--- HERE is the design I found (I've never heard of PaperNova but I love their project and might have to look them up!). I really liked the heart with a hoop or stitched background. I pulled out some of my favorite Paper Smooches stitched dies for that heart! The yellow heart was cut using my new Big Shot Switch Plus so the holes were cleaned quickly as I pulled the mat and shim from the die. As much as I liked this look, I really like the pink heart because I die cut that in my old Cuttlebug and found that many of the holes were cut but the pieces stayed in their spot because the pressure in this old machine is not as hard! Not sure I explained that well... regardless, I love both cards:)

Trav's gift for today is a lotto ticket. **NOTE: we do not play the lotto... but every once in awhile I will get Trav a scratch off! Wouldn't it be fun to win something on the one ticket I get him!? LOL The odds are not in our favor but it's fun to dream:)

That's it for me today. I hope this card inspires you to get creative today or to celebrate your love and marriage❤️

THANKS so much for stopping by!

Be blessed ❤️

2022: Marriage Week Day 6 [card #39]

Hello again, sweet friends! Happy Marriage Week❤️

Marriage Week Day 6: well... I'm back with more patterned paper! Patterned paper is truly my first crafty love (aside from Paper Smooches)! I've also really enjoyed being inspired by other crafters--- this card was inspired by Jaimie Pate
This card has a few of my favorites: patterned papers, layers, and mustard colored paper/accents *NOTE: the correct mustard color is hard for me to find! You might even notice that I also used the stamp images CORRECTLY this time around! LOL!
Trav's gift for today is a sneaker magic eraser. You see I got him some new sneakers for Christmas and he likes to keep them clean:) The easiest way is to use a sneaker eraser. **NOTE: I know my gifts for Trav are a bit silly! At least I know he will enjoy them!

That's it for me today. Marriage Week is coming to a close... but I hope that our love never stops and that I don't stop sharing my love with Trav!!!

THANKS so much for stopping by!

Be blessed ❤️

2022: Marriage Week Day 5 [card #38]

Hello again, sweet friends! Happy Marriage Week❤️

Marriage Week Day 5: I already created two cards with alcohol inks (HERE and HERE).... and two more with patterned papers (HERE and HERE- this one had more mistakes than anything else! LOL!)... so for today's card I used just colored cardstock.
I was inspired by another creation found HERE; this inspiration was a sample featured for a Catherine Pooler Designs' die set. I love how the inspired card was all white with pops of color for the heart "halves". I used similar stamps and dies and copied the entire design! Sometimes you need to CASE a card:)
Notice how that background has a pierced design?
That's what I was trying to achieve with Day 2's card HERE

Trav's gift for today is a container of his FAVORITE Publix ice cream. You can never go wrong with gifting ice cream! LOL!

That's it for me today. I hope this card inspires you to get creative today or to celebrate your love and marriage❤️

THANKS so much for stopping by!

Be blessed ❤️

2022: Marriage Week Day 4 [card #37]

Hello again, sweet friends! Happy Marriage Week❤️

Today's photo of my card is AWFUL! It really doesn't show how all the papers and details together make this card beautiful. 🤦🏼‍♀️ You win some... you lose some! I also think it has to do with 1.) my photography skills- I lack them! and 2.) I think some camera buttons have been moved and clicked and I don't know how to get it back to "normal". LOL!
Marriage Week Day 4: I went back to my roots again-- playing with patterned papers. I love these papers, esp the yellow and coral! What I don't like about this card is that I stamped the postage images INCORRECTLY (the circle and waves-- not sure what these are actually called)! I was so confident that I did it right--- LOL! OH MY! Don't look at it! OH GOSH--- now that's all you can look at 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️ I also had to stamp it twice because the first ink color was too light... what I didn't realize was that the card had moved in my Misti. This created a double image. OY! 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️ At least Trav will know this was "handmade"!
Trav's gift for today is another two golf towels--- he needs extra extra backups! LOL!

That's it for me today. I hope this card inspires you to get creative today or to celebrate your love and marriage❤️

THANKS so much for stopping by!

Be blessed ❤️

2022: Marriage Week Day 3 [card #36]

Hello again, sweet friends! Happy Marriage Week❤️

I'm continuing to celebrate my love, marriage, and favorite man, TROG, this week! I actually love love love celebrating him:) I hope it never gets old!

Marriage Week Day 3: I went back to my tried and true techniques of using patterned papers for this card. If you've been around here for awhile, you know I love using patterned paper. This paper is actually the packaging from one of my The Stamp Market stamps! Again--- I never throw anything away! LOL!
I also found lots of inspiration from a mini album created by Shawna Clingerman back in 2019. I loved the layers and the ribbon with the heart. I ended up using MORE from her creation than I wanted... but I love how this card turned out!
Trav's gift for today are three little baskets to help him when hitting at 730 and 1030 (I know there are three numbers or "clock times"... but I can't remember the third! I am not even sure I explained this gift well... all I know is he needs something in the distance as a "target". These baskets will be that target!). Another gift I know he will enjoy!

That's it for me today. I hope this card inspires you to get creative today or to celebrate your love and marriage❤️

THANKS so much for stopping by!

Be blessed ❤️

Paper Smooches SPARKS October Trend Watch challenge

Hello, friends:}

**Please click HERE for my Ribbon Carousel Crewmates post;}

Today we start another weekly challenge over at Paper Smooches SPARKS blog!! The first week of the month is always a TRENDS WATCH challenge.

This week we are inspired by the following photo:
I was super inspired by this photo--the colors, creatures from the woodlands, and the tree! So I combined all of these elements into my card. I used four Paper Smooches stamp sets {Spring Groves, Autumn Groves, Hang Ups, and Falling For You}. And I finally did it....I cut into some of my favorite Crate Paper {School Sprit}!!! I also used an old binder clip and some burlap twine {available HERE from the Ribbon Carousel}. LOOOOOOVE it! AND--this is my first time of joining in the fun and playing along with the Inspired By challenge!
That's it for me today--but be sure to stop by the other Paper Smooches SPARKS DT members' blogs and leave them some love

And don't forget to stop by the Paper Smooches SPARKS blog for more details!!!! This challenge ends October 7th. I cannot wait to see what you make--I just LOOOOOVE my Paper Smooches stamps (I got four new sets to play with last week)!!!

THANKS so much for stopping by! Be blessed:}
