"Just Like Dad" cards with Avocado Arts {post3}

Hello, friends:}

**Please click HERE or scroll up/down for my Play Date Cafe challenge post.
**Please click HERE or scroll up/down for my Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps new release post-GIVEAWAY

Today the Avocado Arts Pit Crew have created some amazing projects to share with you! We all used the AA June stamp set, Let's Catch UpBe sure to stop by the AA blog for more information and LOTS more inspiration!

This month's stamp set is PERFECT for Father's Day! I used the AA mustache and bow tie, along with the sentiment to make this fun mini card. I LOOOOOOVE how the bow tie looks! The papers are from Simple Stories Summer Fresh paper pad {available HERE from the RC}.

This was a simple card to make! Easy to reproduce!

Instructions:
1. Create card base from cardstock and patterned paper.
2. Die cut postage stamp and adhere to card using foam dots.
3. Stamp images and cut out.
4. Adhere images to postage stamp.
5. Stamp sentiment.
6. Distress edges with ink blending tool.
For my next project, I needed a CAS Father's Day card to match my "Just Like Dad" gift bag {which was published in the Paper Crafts May/June issue}. I paired some Bazzill peanut cluster cardstock {available HERE from the RC} with some chipboard alphas, along with my Avocado Arts June argyle stamp. I inked up the alphas with a light green ink and then stamped the AA argyle stamp on top with a darker green ink. LOVE how it turned out.
If you look closely, you can see the argyle stamping on the chipboard! LOVE:)
I added glossy accents to the mustache to make it pop--it looks a bit shiny in this pic! LOL!

That's it for me today! Be sure to stop by the AA blog for more details and inspiration. And don't forget to check out my other teammates' blogs! You are going to love what they share today!!!!

Hello, friends:}

If you came from Patricia Folchert's blog, you are in the right place-- if you would like to start from the beginning of the hop, please click HERE or go to the Paper Crafts blog.
Well....I can finally shout it from the ROOF TOPS! I was a WINNER!!! My card was one of the winners picked for the Love category for the World Card Making Day challenge with Paper Crafts! I'm so excited. This was a complete surprise, and I still can't believe it's true!! I pinch myself all the time! You can read more about this win on pages 11-12 in the PC magazine, and my card is on page 80.
And today the WCMD winners are having a hop! We wanted to share some of our goodies with you! And the good news is that I'm sharing TWO projects and TWO giveaways!

My friend, Linda Dreiling, is sharing my blog today. She was a winner in the Birthday category!! You can see her project on page ##. She has created another birthday card to share today. Here is what she had to say about the special techniques she used on this card: Cut flower; leaves and small butterflies  from Graphic 45 Botanical paper and glue down with Studio multi medium to the Clearly for Art Blackout.  When dry, once again cut out.  Holding with tweezers one item at a time hit the back with heat from a heat gun, you just have to heat a little and then form your butterflies wings upwards and set a side to cool. Heat the flower and form the petals as you desire and then set aside to cool. I love using this medium as it holds its shape and I love 3d on cards.  Emboss Happy Birthday on Gold punch out from Botanical paper;I put the foam tape behind the Happy Birthday insert and again on the bottom leaves of the flower. After the paper is on the Gift Card tin cutout and form more small butterflies then I tied various ribbons to the handle to make it stand up.

Supplies: Patterned paper from Graphic 45, Botanical and Domestic Goddess papers; Clearly for Art Blackout modeling film by Studio 490; Stamps: Happy Birthday from Stampin UP and swirl Misc brand from Michaels; Embossing Powder: Stampin Up; Ink by Tim Holtz Distress Black and Dye Black by Making Memories; Pearls from Bo Bunny; Scotch Foam tape; Adhesive by Studio multi medium matte; Scotch glue and Extreme Tac by Glue Glider; Small Tin with handle from Oriental Trading; Ribbon; May arts.

And for my creation....I wanted to create another card for the category that I won {original card to the left}. I also wanted to use a similar image. So I made a love card using the camera image from the Paper Smooches Perpetual Bliss stamp set. I also used some hearts from the Smoocheroos set. The papers are from the Paper Issues store. I used some film strip ribbon and made it look like it was rolling out of the camera. My friend, Ashley, helped me with this sentiment--SOOOOOOOO perfect! LOVE LOVE LOVE this card!
I tried to get a good pic of the film strip ribbon--sorry this pic is dark.

Now for the GIVEAWAYS!!!! Linda and I are both giving away some prizes. We are each giving away a package of goodies....and we just found out from Holly over at Paper Crafts that we can giveaway a magazine too!!! HOOOOORAY!

So we will have 4 winners! One winner will get this prize package from Linda
Another winner will receive this prize package from me.
And two winners will get a copy of the March/April edition of the Paper Crafts magazine!!!

Paper Made Bakery--Guest Designer 2

Hello, friends:}

After 8am...
**Please click HERE or scroll up for my Sweet Stamp Shop post!

I'm back with another Paper Made Bakery Guest Designer project. I used my PMB December kits {available HERE} for these two cards. You really can make so many creations with these papers, buttons, twines, and stamps!!

I was thinking about what card I could make next...and decided to find some inspiration in the latest Paper Crafts 365 Magazine. I found a card by Sarah Martina Parker that I just knew I had to CASE. I literally cased her entire card! I used the orange themed paper from my December kits paper pad {My Mind's Eye Honey Cake}. I also used the sentiment stamp from the kit {Memory Box}. LOVE the black and orange color combo! I love how this card turned out!!!
I thought I would share how I created that ribbon treatment on my card--it was really simple! There are three ribbon pieces. 1. I wrapped the bottom piece and taped it on the back. 2. I did the same thing to the top. 3. I used the third piece to make a bow. EASY!
For my second card, I made a simple card using scraps from my other creations. I used the scraps to make the banner. Then I stamped my sentiment from the December kits across the top and added alphas [Ashley told me to put teacher--SMART!]. I really like how this card turned out--SO SIMPLE! LOVE!
Here is another pic--I have tried several times to get a good photo of these cards! Silly sun was missing the past couple of days! LOL!

That's it! I cannot wait to make more cards using my Paper Made Bakery December kit!! Please make sure you stop by the PMB blog {HERE} and check them out on Facebook {HERE}. ******Be sure to become a fan on Facebook--there's a giveaway once they get 100 fans {they are SOOOO close!!}!!!
