Last year's World Card Making Day winners are doing a blog hop to get the festivities started and to share some crafty eye candy:) There are some giveaways--so be sure to leave come love along the hop {list below} for your chance to win!
My friend, Linda Dreiling, is sharing my blog today. She was a winner in the Birthday category!! She has created another birthday card to share today. Here is what she had to say about the special techniques she used on this card:
Ballerina Birthday Card size 4 ¼ x 5 1/2:
Cut flower background paper 4 ¼ x 5 ½ and attach to card front; cut Ballerina paper 3 ½ x 4 ½, saving the strip you cut off, also cut a thin piece of cardboard the same size and mount paper on the cardboard; cut another strip of thin cardboard 1 ¼ x 3 ½ , cut a strip of paper 1 ¼ x 3 ½ and mount on top of previous cardboard. Cut another strip of paper 1 ¼ x 3 and glue the wrong side of the pattern paper to the back of the cardboard stripe, fold the top of the strip over on itself letting about 1 inch stick up above the top of the cardboard strip and glue down. Attach covered cardboard strip to the right side of the larger cardboard piece letting about ½ “protrude from the top of the card. Punch out the scallop circle and stamp Happy Birthday, as you mount this put one side on the cardboard strip and glue another small piece of cardboard under the left side of the circle so it will pop up straight across. Attach a green flower to the seam side of the strip noting placement on the picture. Spray the seam binding and attach around the large piece and tie off in a bow. Put Stick pin through and attach all to the card front. Enjoy and thank you

And for my creation....I wanted to create another card for the category that I won {original card to the left}. Pictures, instagrams, and cameras are still popular, so I used this as my inspiration (to keep with my original idea of being "captured"). I used several Paper Smooches stamp sets {Squeaky Clean, FOLKal Points, Chubby Chums, Alphadots, Hope, Good Gab}. The papers are from The Sweetest Thing: Tangerine collection by My Mind's Eye {available HERE from the Ribbon Carousel}. SOOOOOOOO perfect! LOVE LOVE LOVE this card! And I love that I created my anniversary card early! LOL!
This photograph doesn't show the polaroid pieces well--but there are two on there! This helped with the "captured" theme:}
Here's a better pic....maybe?
