Sweet Stamp Shop Halloween Owl-fits

Hello, friends:}
I'm back with another Sweet Stamp Shop creation. It's my day over on the SSS blog--so be sure to stop by there and leave some love!

I'm sharing some fun Halloween envelopes that I made using my SSS Halloween Owl-fits stamp set. ***This stamp set is on sale and will be shipped quickly so you can get your images just in time for your Halloween needs! Click HERE to order. I have to be honest again--since Trav and I don't decorate for holidays, including Halloween....we hardly ever get any Trick Or Treaters. Actually, we have NEVER had anyone stop by for candy.

So I made some fun homemade pixie stick candies/decorations. I used some Divine Twine (available HERE at The Ribbon Carousel) and stapled at the ends of my container/straw. I added some of the images from my Halloween Owl-fits SSS set for decoration. EASY! Perfect for....me! I love pixie sticks;)
My favorite decoration--the cat and moon! SOOOOOOOO cute:)

I also made these envelopes for Olsen and Trav. They don't have to dress up to get their treat....I just wanted to share some good candy (or dog treats) with them! I love this first one. It's for Trav. It's got Vernie dressed up with a fancy glittered mask! LOVE it! I added some orange and plum Divine Twine (available at The Ribbon Carousel) for the finishing touches. The papers {Best Creations} are from my friend, Em!!! I put some Twizzlers in the envelope...but I don't think Trav likes those. Guess I will be getting him different candies:)
This next envelope was simple and easy to make. This is for Olsen--I'm putting a note on the pumpkin paper and adding a small dog treat inside. I used the same SSS set and twine as my last envelope, along with black net ribbon from the RCC. The great thing about this envelope--it can be reproduced quickly!! And you can actually use it for your Trick Or Treaters!! FUN!
And this Halloween banner was created using the same SSS Halloween Owl-fits set--I made it (and shared it Tuesday) for the Ribbon Carousel challenge--read more about it HERE. **I just cannot get enough of those bats! They are super super cute!
That's it for me today--I just love using my SSS images! This Halloween Owl-fits is PERFECT for Halloween:)

Be sure to stop by the Sweet Stamp Shop blog for more info on this card and to see what the owner of SSSNicole, has been up to! And if you have some extra time, please stop by our YouTube channel, our FB page, follow us on Twitter  and link up any creations you have made using SSS images on Flickr

Hello, friends:)

I am super excited about today--I've got LOTS of information and pictures to share with you!!! I'm joining the super amazing and talented Layers of Color DT for their ornament blog hop!!!

Welcome to the Layers of Color Ornament Blog Hop!

The beginning of the blog hop is at the Layers of Color blog. If you came here from Rae Barthel's blog, you are hopping in the right order.

This is the place to discover the newest creative paper ornament ideas, be inspired by talented designers, and get showered with gifts! Layers of Color is giving awayFREE Ornament Templates!, FREE Vintage Roses Ornament Tutorial!, and 6 $20 Layers of Color Gift Certificates (see below for details)!

First, some ornament inspiration!...

I wanted to make several ornaments for this hop because I wanted to share some different designs using my Layers of Color stamp sets. For my first ornament, I paper pieced this beautiful Holly Angel image. I've used all metallic papers from The Paper Co. I added some gold ribbons and pearls for extra embellies. I love how this ornament turned out- simple but shimmery and elegant!
Next I wanted to share something different...I was thinking about how my brothers and I would set out hay for the reindeer on Christmas Eve. I wanted to make something for families to share this tradition. So I made a paper cone for Reindeer Food using my Reindeer Waltz stamp set from LOC.

I used THIS tutorial to make the cones. However, I didn't use double sided patterned paper. So here are some pictures of how I created my cones.
Here are some close ups of my ornament cones.
Optional ideas for cones: You can add as many cones as you want for each reindeer--and you can fill it with hay, carrots, etc. You could use these cones for little goodies for the kids that you fill Christmas Eve. Or you could have your children write letters to Santa and roll them up in these cones.

GIFTS FOR YOU...
Come get a FREE Vintage Roses Ornament Tutorial tomorrow, October 27th on Layers of Color blog

My gift to you is a chance to win$20 Layers of Color Gift Certificate! All you have to do is LEAVE A COMMENT below!!! Winners announced on LOC blog tomorrow!

RCC 26- BOO!

Hello, friends:}

This is the last challenge for the Inaugural Ribbon Carousel Crew and a new Crew will be starting next week! RCC has some surprises in store so be sure to come back to see! Here's a little peek at a new product debuting next week as well, that will make your ribbon storage sooooo much easier...

This week, around the globe, people are celebrating Halloween! A favorite, hauntingly delightful holiday, Halloween inspires lots of different images! Ashley is challenging us to make anything that is Inspired by Halloween for this week’s Ribbon Carousel Challenge (RCC26). It could be a costume, card, decoration.
This week we have thesuper fun EAD Designs as our sponsor!
For one lucky participant, a gift pack of EAD Designs products is up for grabs!

I'm going to be honest with ya...I do not decorate my house or yard for holidays. I don't have time to go out and buy the decorations, and I don't have time to put it up. I also don't have the money! LOL! So my house looks the same all year round...that's kind of boring now that I think about it! Maybe one day I will decorate.

So for this RCC challenge, I decided to make a small decoration for my studio (possibly Trav's studio). I wanted to make a small banner to hang on our computer screen...so I spelled out the sentiment and added some bat images from my Sweet Stamp Shop set Halloween Owl-fits. So cute! I attached everything to my Halloween twine (available HERE from The Ribbon Carousel). LOVE how this turned out! It's the perfect decoration for our studio--and it's easy to store! Just fold up and put in an envelope! **I need to remember where I store this envelope so I WILL decorate next year;)
Here is a close-up of the alphas and bats. This is a rather small banner--about 3 inches tall and 20 inches long.
The RCC team would love for you to join in the fun this week! Here are the details:
  • Make your NEW creation following the ribbon carousel challenge (sketch, inspiration, style or color) image. Be sure to include some type of ribbon, twine, hemp, lace....basically, anything that comes on a spool.
  • Your creation can be ANYTHING from cards, quilts, sewn items, paper crafts, paintings! ***Be sure to have ribbon, bakers twine, jute twine, lace, thread (basically anything that comes on a spool) on your creation! And be sure to follow the RCC challenge theme!
  • Load your creation up onto your blog or a public viewing forum like SplitcoastStampers, (use the keyword RCC26) with a direct link back to The RCC blog post. Including the challenge graphic isn't a requirement, but sure is appreciated! A participant of our very first challenge didn't link back or mention our challenge and couldn't be named Top Spool, so don't let that happen to you!
  • Come back to The RCC blog post and link in your creation using the Inlinkz button at the bottom of this post. Your image may take a little while to pop up but don't worry it will appear shortly.
  • Be sure to come back the Friday after the challenge ends to see if YOU are a Top Spool! :D
This Challenge will end on October 31st at 11:59pm EST.

I really hope you will play along! Please stop by the RCC blog for more details, more projects from the RCC DT, and to link up your creation! Also, please head over to The Ribbon Carousel website and check out their products!!!

Before I go--  The Ribbon Carousel is also selling ribbon kits! LOVE--what a great idea. October's kit has a beautiful color palette and beautiful textures! FUN! Here are some links to the kits on the RCC website.

3 months of Ribbon Club Kits $27.00 **Get the current month and the next two months! Great price!
