Layers of Color-Nov. Guest Designer post1

Hello, friends:}

**NOTE:: My good friend, Rochelle, has renamed my post to LAYERS OF AWESOMENESS! So sweet of her:) And thanks for the support and love, Rochelle!!

I'm back with another Layers of Color Guest Designer creation! This is my last post as a Guest Designer with LOC. This month has been filled with joy and blessings as I've created with LOC images and with the team! I cannot believe I was a part of this super talented team!

For my last project, I wanted to make another teacup creation using  Melisa Waldorf's teacup template {free template HERE}. I was again inspired by my Mother-In-Law. She really REALLY blesses me!!! So I made her a Mother's day card....I'm thinking ahead:) I used my new images from Nina B. Designs' Sweet Silhouette {sentiment} and Fairy Wishes {butterfly} stamp sets. LOOOOOOOOVE how this turned out! I was inspired by a picture found on Inspire Lovely's blog. I knew instantly that I wanted to make stacked teacups and use those beautiful butterflies for my card. I also used some paper from October Afternoon {5 & Dime}. LOVE LOVE LOVE! This is probably my fav project for LOC!!!!!!
That's it for me today. Be sure to stop by the LOC blog and website! I know you will enjoy their creations as much as I do! And check Layers of Color out on FB

Finally, I would like to say THANK YOU--THANK YOU so much, Layers of Color, for this wonderful opportunity to share my creations using your images/stamps! I cannot wait to use more of your stamps and play along with you again in the future!!! THANK YOU!!! God bless!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Be blessed:}

Sweet Stamp Shop creation

Hello, friends:}

I'm back with another Sweet Stamp Shop creation. It's my day over on the SSS blog--so be sure to stop by there and leave some love! And today--I've decided to share how to dress up your envelopes for your Christmas cards:)

I just love personalized cards....you can make the color story match the recipient's favorite colors....you can use their favorite sport, hobby, etc. as the image...etc. There's so much you can do to make a card personalized. But what I noticed is that I never EVER dress up the envelope! It's always white or cream! Not anymore:) Well--at least not this Christmas!! I love this new idea of wrapping the address label around the side of the envelope! This is really easy to make!!! I used basic supplies, as well as several stamp sets from the Sweet Stamp Shop {Tree Traditions and Sweet Alpha Doodles}!!
1. Use a decorative pre-made envelope--and skip to #2... or Create an envelope using patterned paper.
2. Cut a long strip of white cardstock.
3. Round corners and attach to envelope.
4. Stamp recipient's name on front (leaving space to the left for decoration).
5. Stamp frame and your Initial on back of "address label" {I was going to put O'G but I really like just the O}.
6. Stamp tree, fussy cut, add string and bow, and attach using foam dots.

Ok--those steps look like a lot of work...but really, it was SIMPLE! LOVE how that tree turned out!!! Actually--I love that little frame too!! LOVE it all:) LOVE LOVE LOVE my SSS images!

That's it for me today--Be sure to stop by the Sweet Stamp Shop blog for more info on this project and to see what the owner of SSSNicole, has been up to! There is a Cyber-Monday deal going on over at the SSS!! So be sure to check it out {click HERE -Deal goes live at 9am PST}!

And if you have some extra time, please stop by our YouTube channel (Nicole just uploaded another video the other day!!!), our FB page, follow us on Twitter  and link up any creations you have made using SSS images on Flickr

Thanks so much for stopping by! Be blessed:)

2 challenges: Authentique and Flashback Friday

Hello, friends:}

Happy THANKSGIVING!!!

I have a couple of creations to share with you today! I have been neglecting many challenges because I've been so busy with Weekend Worship {update below} and DT projects....but I managed to squeeze in some time for two challenges yesterday!! First up, I found my very first banner creation for the Flashback Friday challenge. I made this on August 13, 2010--not long ago! I really didn't like banners on my cards {when banners were the "in" thing}....but then I tried it, and I LOVED it! You can read more about this card HERE. I made this banner a couple of days later! LOL!
Next, I found some time to play along with Authentique's sketch challenge. I was trying to think outside the box...so I made this diagonal strip into a tie. The three Xs--I thought I would spread them out and I made a tie clip with the hammer image from Paper Smooches My Guy stamp set. I also added a shirt pocket {that's--1. tie clip, 2. hammer, and 3. shirt pocket--ok ok!! I know that is stretching it BIG time--and I know I forgot the scalloped piece! OY! Next time I really need to follow the directions. LOL!}. I love how this turned out! I also love these papers from Authentique {Free Bird-Warmth}. LOVE!
And last but not least....an update on Weekend Worship. All I can say is WOWOWOW! I had a great time--Trav did too! We are so thankful for all of your prayers! God was moving, and I def. think He was glorified and praised {which was our goal}!!! I have NO pictures of the actual night/concert...I'm sorry! I will upload those ASAP!!! However, I do have the shoes I wore! LOVE them!!
 Horrible pics taken with an iPhone--trust me...these shoes are AMAZING! Blue Suede!! LOVE:)
THANKS so much for stopping by! I hope that you have a blessed Thanksgiving--filled with lots of love, family, friends, and turkey!!! Be blessed:}

Layers of Color-Nov. Guest Designer--FREE PDF file:)

Hello, friends:}

I'm back with another Layers of Color Guest Designer creation! I had a so much fun working with my stamp sets for today's project. I focused on BABIES!!! Since my newest nephew was born last week, I thought I would share another Prayer journal.

Here are a few photos of Knox--he is almost one week old! So precious;)

I love the scripture about raising your children up to know the Lord {Eph. 6:4b ...bring your children in up in the training and instruction of the Lord.}. I wish sometimes that I knew Him more when I was a kid! So important!! A solid foundation for your children--so that they follow Jesus and know the Truth.

So when I have friends or family give birth, I try to send them a prayer journal. This journal has one scripture and prayer for each day of the month. I created my prayer journal using the Layers of Color Sentimental Banner stamp set along with Polka Dot Parade images. I love this red, yellow, aqua color story from the patterned paper. I love that this journal could be for a boy or a girl--however, I would probably give it to a boy!
So sorry for the horrible pic--these papers are GORGEOUS in person--super hard to take photos at night!
Here is an example of a prayer from this journal: 27. Thankful: "Help my children live lives that are always overflowing with thankfulness and always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ." Eph. 5:20, Col. 2:7 And because LOC has been so nice to me--I would like to share with you my PDF files for the prayer journals...for FREE! **These are PDF files that save as a JPEG. If you have problems, please let me know! I can send them to you in an email:)

That's it for me today. Be sure to stop by the LOC blog and website! I know you will enjoy their creations as much as I do! And check Layers of Color out on FB! If you haven't stopped by the LOC Tea Party Blog Hop--click HERE! There are TWO FREE amazing templates available for you!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Be blessed:}

RCC30 Holiday Hoopla with Lindsay

Hello, friends:}

Today we start a brand new RCC challenge!!

With the holidays upon us, Lindsay is challenging us to make a creation celebrating a holiday! Any holiday will do, Hanukkah, Christmas, Thanksgiving, or even New Year’s if you’re that far ahead!
Our sponsor this week is the fabulous Jenny of, you guessed it, Jenny Suchin Designs!
I went with a simple card that I think I can recreate for my Christmas cards this year! I love those antler images. I made it look like Rudolph with the red gem nose. And I used the BEST Christmas ribbon available at The Ribbon Carousel. LOVE this dark green 3/4" V-striped twill ribbon! LOVE LOVE LOVE it:) The two papers are from Martha Stewart. Simple and fun!
ETA: New pic--I finally got around to taking it in the sunlight:) HOOORAY!

The RCC team would love for you to join in the fun this week! Here are the details:
  • Make your NEW creation following the ribbon carousel challenge (sketch, inspiration, style or color) image. Be sure to include some type of ribbon, twine, hemp, lace....basically, anything that comes on a spool.
  • Your creation can be ANYTHING from cards, quilts, sewn items, paper crafts, paintings! ***Be sure to have ribbon, bakers twine, jute twine, lace, thread (basically anything that comes on a spool) on your creation! And be sure to follow the RCC challenge theme!
  • Load your creation up onto your blog or a public viewing forum like SplitcoastStampers, (use the keyword RCC30) with a direct link back to The RCC blog post. Including the challenge graphic isn't a requirement, but sure is appreciated! A participant of our very first challenge didn't link back or mention our challenge and couldn't be named Top Spool, so don't let that happen to you!
  • Come back to The RCC blog post and link in your creation using the Inlinkz button at the bottom of this post. Your image may take a little while to pop up but don't worry it will appear shortly.
  • Be sure to come back the Friday after the challenge ends to see if YOU are a Top Spool! :D
This Challenge will end on November 28th at 11:59pm EST.

I really hope you will play along! Please stop by the RCC blog for more details, more projects from the RCC DT, and to link up your creation! Also, please head over to The Ribbon Carousel website and check out their products!!!

Before I go--  The Ribbon Carousel is also selling ribbon kits! LOVE--what a great idea and look at that cute packaging. Here are some links to the kits on the RCC website.
