Ribbon Carousel and Helmar Blog Hop--GIVEAWAY

Hello, friends:}

**GIVEAWAY details below!!!
Today the Ribbon Carousel Crewmates are teaming up with the designers from Helmar today to bring you a blog hop jamed pack with crafty goodness!   We carry many Helmar products in the Ribbon Carousel Shop.  They are our go-to-company for adhesives!

Helmar USA Inc began in late 2009 initially setup to distribute Helmar branded product manufactured by Helmar Australia and to better service and expand our existing US customer base. It was located in San Diego, California. Whilst the business grew steadily and slowly it wasn't the ideal location for our business to continue to grow.
2012 has seen some major changes already this year for Helmar USA Inc. and those positive changes will continue. In the interests of moving forward and enabling the business to grow from strength to strength, relocation and a change in ownership became inevitable.
In June 2012 Helmar USA Inc. was relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina. Now with a much larger warehouse to allow for future expansion and also located close to major transport links, supply to our customers and business growth will be much more efficient.
Another major postive change we have made is to expand our design team. Headed by Erika Taylor the changes implemented so far have been refreshing and inspiring. The range of product education & projects available through various media is outstanding. We truly have very talented group of designers and are so excited to be working with some of the best companies as preferred partners, in the industry.

I created a super easy hair piece/accessory using some beautiful Grape Wine vintage seam binding {available HERE from the RC} and two different Helmar glues {450 Quick Dry Adhesive and Gemstone Glue--also available HERE from the RC}. Here's a short project tutorial **literally--this hair piece took five minutes to make!
**Variations of this project-- you could create several of these using your school colors or make these for a cheerleading squad/fans; you could use this hair piece as an award for a student/child--just add a sentiment/congrats on a banner and place in the center of the star.

Another version of this hair piece is to make a headband/ribbon band. I repeated the above steps for several stars and attached them to a ribbon that was about a yard in length. Then I tied it around my head! Here's a picture of this hair piece:) THANKS, Trav, for taking photos for me!!!
 I wasn't smiling in either pic! LOL! Oh well:)
Here's a photo that I uploaded to FB/Instagram-- it's been a fan favorite:)

Now, lets talk prizesHop along with us today and leave some blog love for our Ribbon Carousel Crewmates and the Helmar designers to be eligible to won one of the 2 prizes up for grabs!

  1. The Helmar prise [picture to the right] is a complete pack of Zapdots (12 packs) including clear, black and white in circles and squares in both,the large and small sizes!
  2. The other prize up for grabs is a $20 gift certificate to the Ribbon Carousel Store!

ps...I shared this photo with my RCC DT the other day, and Corinna said I should share it with you! The story: I was trying to use my new Helmar glue and just squeezed really hard when nothing would come out. I didn't realize that there was a seal on the bottle!!! As I opened it, glue almost got on my computer and keyboard. I thought that I had cleaned it all up, but when I ran my fingers through my hair....there was glue in my hair! You can't really see it in this pic--but the glob was large enough to have cut out. Now I know to check for seals on all bottles:}

Vintage/Masculine Momenta card

Hello, friends:}

I received some Momenta papers and metal embellishments the other day, and I decided to create a very simple yet vintage/masculine card.  Really, this card was put together quickly! That's the great thing about Momenta papers/embellishments/stickers-- they work so well together and you don't have to think about the design of your project! One thing I added was some distressing around the edges of each patterned paper and black vintage seam binding {available HERE from the Ribbon Carousel}. LOVE!!! My fav part of this card--that owl!! LOVE him!
One thing I wish I would have done is emboss the red paper--it has a light linen embossing.
Be sure to stop by the Momenta shop and Facebook page.

Thanks so much for visiting! Be blessed:)

Hello, friends:}

Today we start another weekly challenge over at Paper Smooches SPARKS blog!! The fourth week of the month is always a Picture Perfect challenge.

This week we are inspired by the following picture:
I was definitely inspired by that mirror, as well as the white/light blue/grey color combo. I loved the accent of the green. I pulled out one of my fav vintage frames by Melissa Frances and added it along with some fake plant that I bought from the Dollar Store five years ago to my card! LOL! I used two Paper Smooches stamp sets {Daisies & Paisleys  and Hang Ups}. I paired my new pewter crushed ribbon {available HERE from the RC} with some of my old My Mind's Eye Be Amazing: Follow Your Heart papers {Ribbon Carousel}. LOOOOOOVE how this card turned out! It's one of my favs! I'm entering this card into the Focal Point Challenge in the Moxie Fab World

Thanks, thanks, THX

Hello, friends:}

I've created another card...more my style;) I love these papers from Echo Park {For The Record 2 Tailored- available HERE from the Ribbon Carousel}!!! I also love layering and adding details to my cards. I've added lots of extra embellies and pieces, and I've stamped several images and sentiments using my Paper Smooches sets {Daisies & Paisleys, Qwick Qwips, Spookalicious, Hope, FOLKal Points}. LOVE LOVE LOVE how this turned out. I'm entering this in the Movement Challenge in the Moxie Fab World. I think that the eye moves all around this card with the patterned papers and sentiments/stamped images!
I used a glaze gel pen to make the stamped images pop!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Be blessed:)

Retro Sketches

Hello, friends:}

I have about fifteen cards that I need to create today--all for birthdays, sympathy, thank yous, and more! I can barely keep up!

So I decided to make a CAS card using my Echo Park For The Record 2 {available HERE from the Ribbon Carousel},  as well as the Retro Sketches challenge as my inspiration. I love these papers--this is the perfect Thank You card for our pastor. My only problem is that I want to add ribbons, gems, staples, or flags and banners....I have a problem with CAS! It's not my style! Either way, I think our pastor will love this card:)
Twine: RC; Stamps: Paper Smooches

Hello, friends:}

Today we start another weekly challenge over at Paper Smooches SPARKS blog!! The third week of the month is always a Cool Shades challenge.

This week we are inspired by the following colors:
I knew my Dear Lizzy Neapolitan papers would be perfect for this color story! I paired this paper/sticker collection with my Paper Smooches Hope stamp set. I also used the PS FOLKal Points set for the heart. And those little arrows...this stamp is from the Spookalicious set! LOVE it! I'm entering this card in the Gallon/Quart/Pint Challenge in the Moxie Fab World. I think that the gallon would be pink with quart being mint and the pint is orange and brown. LOVE
Oh my--I guess my orange paper doesn't match as well as I thought it did! LOL! ALSO--I can promise you that this card looks SUPER beautiful in person!

More CAS Cards with Momenta

Hello, friends:}

I had some Momenta scraps on my desk this week, and I decided to whip together some cards. I challenged myself to only use two or three different elements on my cards. For my first card, I designed a get well card using Momenta's Candy Blossoms paper pad. I loved the striped pattern with the teal cardstock. I added a bit of interest to the stripes by adding glitter! So fun!
For my second card, I decided to make a card that could be used for anyone-- a friendship card. My favorite part of this card are the papers {Momenta OFD 5x7 pad}; I really love those colors together!
I hope you will take this challenge and create some CAS cards with some Momenta scraps! Thanks so much for stopping by! Be blessed:}
