Paper Smooches challenge- March 2018 #1

Hello, friends:}
Today I'm sharing Trav's favorite card of all time (or so he says until the next card is made! LOL!). It's for the Paper Smooches March sketch challenge

I usually change the sketch a bit... I think I did a bit more this time around! LOL! Here's what I changed: I rotated it vertically, I made the top layer/rectangle the bottom layer and actually made it into a file tab, and I moved the "word" to the new top layer. Does it still fit the sketch?!! I think so😬😁 I used the following PS stamps/dies: Many Thanks, File Tab, and Thanks So Much

That's it for me today! I hope you will join in the fun--- you could win a gift certificate to the PS store! Be sure to stop by HERE to link up and play along:)

THANKS so much for stopping by! Be blessed:}

Technique Tuesday + SALE (day 3)

Hello, friends!

Today is the last day for the Technique Tuesday's stamp and die sale so I'm sharing some easy cards to make using the TT Faith Opens the Door stamp set and Pray die set, which are part of this amazing sale! Details can be found below or on the TT website.

Did you know Easter is on April 1st this year? That is only 3 weeks away. Hop on over to the TT website and blog to see all the Easter and Christian themed clear stamps, crafting dies, and digital cut files. These products will help you get a jump start on goody bags from the Easter bunny, cards, a spring-themed tablescape, or Bible journaling about one of Christianity's most important holidays.

SALE ends TONIGHT, March 13th at midnight.

I decided to create three different types of cards that were fairly simple to make using the TT Faith Opens the Door stamp set and Pray die set. For this first mini card set, I wanted to use just white ink and glitter paper as the main statement. I paired a couple of sentiments from the stamp set with the dove die, which was a perfect match.
The second card uses watercoloring and piecing together die cut sentiments as the main techniques. I wanted to make a sentiment that said, "Prayers for you" but after making "prayer" I realized that I didn't have the letter S! 🤦🏼‍♀️ Trav says that what resulted was a "happy accident". LOL
The word "prayer" was created using the die "pray" twice (for the whole word and the letter R) and "rejoice" (for the letter E).

My last card is my fav and was inspired by a published card back in 2008/9/? by Smitha Katti. It's very simple- stamping the flower image several times using tone on tone ink and paper, fussy cutting them out, layering them and adding a gem, and finishing the card with a stamped sentiment. That's the great thing about this final card-- you can use any sentiment under the flower trio!
That's it for me today! Don't forget to stop by the TT website and do some shopping before the sale ends tonight. THANKS so much for stopping by and leaving some love

Technique Tuesday + SALE (day2)

Hello, friends!
Today I'm sharing another bible journaling page using Technique Tuesday's stamps and dies! There's a special sale going on right now, so be sure to stop by the TT website for more details!

SALE begins Sunday, March 11 and goes until March 13th at midnight.

I used a stamp set that is currently on sale called Faith Opens the Door. It has so many different sentiments that are great to use alone and for mixing and matching for a custom sentiment.
I used some of my favorite Chickaniddy Crafts Date Night papers/stickers/embellishments for my bible journaling tip-in. I used a clock brad, a journaling card that had dates/numbers on it, and the words "when?" and "why?" because all of these fit the theme and scripture of God's timing and waiting for Him.
The scripture I was inspired by was Psalm 27:14. Wait on the Lord. That is hard to do! I really struggle with waiting PATIENTLY. My journaling reminds me to remember the truth: Waiting for God is NEVER wasted because I'm waiting on HIM. He has perfect timing- never early or late. Waiting does require faith and patience but it's worth the wait because He always has a plan that is BEST for me!
I hope that you will stop by and grab some of these Easter & faith stamps/dies for your next project and for the upcoming holiday! I will be sharing MORE using the TT Faith Opens the Door stamp set and Pray die tomorrow! These two sets are part of the sale 😁

That's it for me today! THANKS so much for stopping by and leaving some love

Technique Tuesday + SALE

Hello, friends!
I'm back, and I'm super excited to be sharing a couple of bible journaling pages using Technique Tuesday's stamps and dies! There's a special sale going on right now, so be sure to stop by the TT website for more details!

SALE begins Sunday, March 11 and goes until March 13th at midnight.

I went with a fun mixed media design for my page today. **Please note: this page does not use a stamp/die that is included in this sale. I designed this page when my friend, Aleesha, came to visit back in February. We looked up scriptures about the desert, how we can live in the desert with our grumbling/complaining (James MacDonald's book Lord, Change My Attitude Before It's Too Late **good book!), and many other topics/scriptures. We came across a devotional that talked about how even in the hard times [being in a desert] we still need to look for the blessings and give thanks. Reading that gave me a start to my page and I went from there!
The passage for this page is from Deuteronomy 8:2-6. The Israelites focus on the "prickly things of life" not even noticing or giving thanks for what God had done for them while in the desert. Unfortunately, I do that too (I've listed some of the things I find prickly currently in my life under that stamped sentiment).
After reading these verses, I'm reminded that I need to give thanks because there are blessings in the trials and deserts! And God is ALWAYS with me! That alone should be enough to get through whatever I'm going through! So look up, Sav!!! Look for the blessings and give thanks!

A couple of techniques I used include masking, mixing stamp sentiments, painting, fussy cutting, die cutting, layering, and using a non-faith/holiday stamp set for a bible journaling page. I have painted many times in my bible before but this time was a bit different because I used a regular pen on top of the paint instead of my IF pen. When I sprayed the page to protect it from smearing... I accidentally smeared my writing! 🤦🏼‍♀️

Good thing I had extra navy cardstock! I just rewrote everything and trimmed it to size to cover this mess up!
