Hello, friends:)
I am super excited about today--I've got LOTS of information and pictures to share with you!!! I'm joining the super amazing and talented Layers of Color DT for their ornament blog hop!!!
Welcome to the Layers of Color Ornament Blog Hop!
The beginning of the blog hop is at the Layers of Color blog. If you came here from Rae Barthel's blog, you are hopping in the right order.
This is the place to discover the newest creative paper ornament ideas, be inspired by talented designers, and get showered with gifts! Layers of Color is giving away: FREE Ornament Templates!, FREE Vintage Roses Ornament Tutorial!, and 6 $20 Layers of Color Gift Certificates (see below for details)!
First, some ornament inspiration!...
I wanted to make several ornaments for this hop because I wanted to share some different designs using my Layers of Color stamp sets. For my first ornament, I paper pieced this beautiful Holly Angel image. I've used all metallic papers from The Paper Co. I added some gold ribbons and pearls for extra embellies. I love how this ornament turned out- simple but shimmery and elegant!
Next I wanted to share something different...I was thinking about how my brothers and I would set out hay for the reindeer on Christmas Eve. I wanted to make something for families to share this tradition. So I made a paper cone for Reindeer Food using my Reindeer Waltz stamp set from LOC.I used THIS tutorial to make the cones. However, I didn't use double sided patterned paper. So here are some pictures of how I created my cones.
Here are some close ups of my ornament cones.
Optional ideas for cones: You can add as many cones as you want for each reindeer--and you can fill it with hay, carrots, etc. You could use these cones for little goodies for the kids that you fill Christmas Eve. Or you could have your children write letters to Santa and roll them up in these cones.
GIFTS FOR YOU...
My gift to you is a chance to win a $20 Layers of Color Gift Certificate! All you have to do is LEAVE A COMMENT below!!! Winners announced on LOC blog tomorrow!
Let's get hopping to discover lots of gorgeous ornament projects to add sparkle to your Christmas preparations! There are drawings for $20 Layers of Color Gift Certificates as surprise gifts for you along the way, so be sure to visit each designer blog!

You've got some fantastic ideas and projects here! I love the cone on, you are so talented!!! I hope these will go up in your house during the holiday season, maybe?
These are fabulous Sav! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the reindeer cones! They are perfect! Another thing you can do is put oats and glitter in them (mixed together), the oats are for the reindeer to eat and the glitter is so that they can see it from the sky and they know to land and eat it. You sprinkle it on the grass.
Fantastic, Savannah!!! Love those cones and the fun color scheme on your ornament!! Great job!
Savannah, your ornament post made me get up and do a happy dance! lol Your angel ornament DID turn out beautifully and I LOVE the banner swirling around the base of her robes!
