All Things Unity #13

Hello, friends:}

I'm excited to let you know about the new All Things Unity challenge!! It's titled "What your Flavor?"Not long ago PaperCrafts magazine put out an entire magazine dedicated to finding your style!! The new ATU challenge is about making a card IN YOUR STYLE! Love it:} And one lucky winner will get a copy of this magazine! ACK-I don't have this copy yet!! Wish I could win!!


I actually entered a contest for this on the PaperCrafts blog!! I won  #1 place!! ACK--get out:) I about died! You can see my winning card and post HERE! **NOTE:: this is actually another card--I was picked as #1 twice within weeks on this blog!!  **NOTE:: I also used Unity and Ippity stamps for these wins!! I love these stamps;}


Here are the five categories if you need help finding which one you fit in (**NOTE:: I think I fit in two categories- Fun/Cute and Clean/Graphic): 
1. Classy/Elegant- polished; shiny finish, sparkling embellishments, rich color scheme; sophisticated sentiment
2. Shabby/Chic- layering; soft; utilizing ribbon, lace, inking and distressing; looks comfortable, worn
3. Vintage- one step farther than Shabby/Chic--adds old images, found items, antique trinkets
4. Clean/Graphic- white space, clean lines, and simple treatment of texts [bare minimums]
5. Fun/Cute- happy color scheme, sweet sentiments; uncomplicated design; whimsy (cartoons or doodles); friendly patterns

So for my cards...I think this first one is Fun/Cute and possibly some Shabby/Chic. I love love love this card--I love the colors and the images! I love that DP! I used Unity's postcard stamp (top background) with the butterfly from Life Becoming and the sentiment from May's KOTM! I love love love how this turned out. I actually used Limelight's sketch! I love that envelope flap [made from scratch again]! LOVE it all! And because I think this ribbon is pleated--I'm linking it over the Stamp Simply #153! LOVE that bias tape:}

This next card is also Fun/Cute and was created for the Critter Sketch Challenge {make a boy card/scrapbook page using glitter--which is on the owl and on the sentiment}. I used Unity's owl from the August KOTM and Ippity's Book It! and Authentic Man {star} stamps. I love love love how this card turned out too! I love that owl! I accidently messed up on the sentiment--I had to pull up the "w" one to many times and it kind of looks crazy--but I still love it:} **NOTE:: Just wanted to let you know a little funny--I called Trav to ask him if this sentiment was ok for this card, and he didn't really agree. Funny thing about this--I made this card for HIM! AHHH! Hope he likes it now:} **NOTE:: I actually thought about entering this in the Ippity challenge {using string} but I wasn't sure if this counts since I used Unity stamps too. Eh.

EIC #102 {Global Child Collection}

Hello, friends:}


Today starts another challenge over at EtsyInspired. I just love visiting all your sites and looking at your wonderful challenge cards!! Last week's EIC cards--ROCKED! I can't wait to see what you create this week!! 


This week's featured Etsy store is Global Child Collection. What a fabulous store--fun prints in several languages and the store is doing a fund raiser to help the Gulf Restoration!! Our sponsor this week is Digi Doodle Shop. These images are super cute! Just love being able to print any size of an image that you want! LOVE it!

I was inspired by this tree photo for my first card. I really wanted to paper piece the leaves--just like the image. I even used Sakura pens to make the dots around the circles and more dimension. There is also glitter stickles on some of the diamonds. The stamps are from Unity's Feb. KOTM, Key to Joy, and Ippity's Fall For You. Just love this mini card:}

This next card was inspired by this owl print! I LOVE my owls:) I used my new August KOTM from Unity! Love that owl--I paper pieced both owls and added glossy accents for fun. I left it blank with no sentiment because I couldn't decide which saying I wanted. Let me know if you think of something good!

My last card is super fun! I was inspired by these wall cards. I created the bunny card. I just got this image from Limelight! LOVE it! It is a Unity wood stamp. I also used my polka dot stamp from Unity for the letter "b". I flocked the bunny's ears and part of his belly! How fun and cute:} LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

FWF {August 20} + giveaway deets

Hello, friends:}


I just have to say that I LOOOOOOOOOOOVE creating cards using Unity stamps! I am in love with five of the cards that I created--and I'm sharing three with you today! I just love them! LOVE Unity:}

And before I share any of my other cards...did you see my FWF38 challenge card? LOVE it! I love all that bling. Click HERE if you want to see it!

This first card was created for the Everything But The Kitchen Sink sketch challenge. I kind of modified the curve on the bottom--I really like how that turned out on the card! I love that ruffled bias tape. I taped it down and then stitched on top. I think that this ruffled bias tape will fit the challenge over at Stamp Simply #153. The scallops on the bottom are circles! The sentiment is from Unity's July KOTM and the butterfly is from the Aug. 09 KOTM. I love love love this card! Love the tag--the biased tape--the sentiment--the papers....EVERYTHING:}

My next card was created for the Cupcake Inspiration challenge. I love this card too! I used Unity's tree from Feb's KOTM, butterflies from the Butterfly Garden set, and the sentiment from Ippity's Sweet Thoughts of Spring set. I love this top part of the card--I made that envelope flap from scratch:) LOVE it! I really wanted to enter this is the Paper Crafts submission call--but it can't be seen on a blog/internet....and I just can't help myself but share my fav cards:}

This last card was created just for fun....not sure where I was inspired....but this is what I came up with! I used Unity's Little Bugs sentiment with the butterfly from Ippity's Books A Flutter! The kraft tag cut out is scrap from my envelope flap! LOVE it! Those scallops on the side--again just circles! Love it more:}

What an amazing week we had with players at The Play Date Cafe---wowowowow! I'm impressed! Thanks so much for sharing all your wonderful creations and playing along with us!! This is a great challenge blog! LOVE the PDCC:}

This week we have a great new color combo--with another great special Guest Designer:: Paul B.!! He's back--he always creates such wonderful cards and projects! I used the inspiration colors for the background of my card. I actually went to a paint store and picked out paint samples that matched for these papers! I then embossed and scored them! I love it! That heart was created by stamping music notes {Ippity} and then cutting it out with the Cricut. I also used Ippity's Just Wanted to Say set for the tag. I popped the bird up on the same light pale green paint sample. LOVE paint sample papers:} The sentiment is from Unity's April's KOTM. Lucky in LOVE....one card, 3 challenges

Hello, friends:}

I just looooooooooooove this card! I created it for my SIL, Candice. **NOTE:: if you forgot, she is getting married in Nov. and I make her a "love" themed card each month to celebrate the wedding. This is her card for August [a bit late...but I think it was worth the wait!]. I also created this card for the Wee Memories {bling, brads, buttons}, Ippity {string}, and FWF38 {inspiration photo} challenges. I was inspired by the colors and stamp sets (Ippity) Rona used in her cards. I loooooooooove all the bling on this horseshoe. **NOTE:: I used a horseshoe because I've heard it stands for LUCKY?? So the card is titled "Lucky in LOVE". Hopefully I'm right with this sentiment!! The sentiment is from Ippity's Falling For You set. I LOOOOOOOVE it! Perfect amount of colors/etc. LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!

Just wanted to show you the popped up horseshoe...SO CUTE:}

OK...I have some bad news....I promised I would have pics of my new bag...and we did take them--it's just that the pics didn't turn out that great--there was a storm coming, so the lighting was bad!! I can tell you that it is worth the wait though! SUPER CUTE! I will share pics ASAP:} I did happen to get some pics of my new shoes from Los Angeles [ok--not so new...we were there two months ago...but they are new to me]. Look at how cute they are! I love visiting towns and getting something that will always remind me of that trip! These were it--we searched everywhere for something LA. LOVE these shoes!!

Some fun mail...

Hello, friends:}

I received some fun mail the past two weeks...some were winnings from challenges...but the BEST two cards I received were for my birthday!! This first one was from my friend, Mandy! She owns Limelight Papercrafts! GET OUT!!! Mandy thought of ME!! ME!! HOOOOORAY! I love it--that sentiment is from Unity's July Store Kit! I love that she made me a card using Unity!! I love it! Love the colors and those butterflies!! THANKS for making my day, Mandy:}

This next card is one of my ABSOLUTE FAV cards that I've made! Yep--you read that right...I made my own birthday card! HA! I love when my MOM does this! She ordered cards about three weeks before my bday. She asked for a couple birthday cards....and some anniversary cards....I never thought about it. I just made them! Then I opened up my card--and several of my family members (which my dad is a family of 5 and my mom is #6 of 13--so lots of family and cousins and aunts/uncles...) had signed it! This card was originally made for my Mom and for the Play Date Cafe challenge. I just loooooove it! I used Unity's Where You Are butterfly and the sentiment is from Moments in Bloom. I just love this card--love love love it!


I also received the CUTEST bag today in the mail--it was one of my gifts!! I looooove it! I can't show it to you yet--I will take pics and share later:} I just know you are going to want one too!! LOVE IT!
