Ribbon Carousel + Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge (one card!)

Hello, friends:}

Have you played along with this month's Ribbon Carousel challenge yet??? This month's theme/challenge--- Love, Birthdays, and Chicken Soup

The beginning of the year is packed with family/friends' birthdays so I created a birthday card for my Father-in-Law for this challenge. This card is also perfect for the Paper Smooches SPARKS Anything Goes challenge! I LOOOOOOOVE Anything Goes-- it makes it so easy to enter:)

My FIL looooooves to hunt deer... turkey.... really anything! He loves to hunt- period! So I used a "deer" image for his birthday card. I thought this was a super cute little card because the deer was getting a present and the papers are super masculine... and I used gold embossing powder (MY FAV!!!!!!!).... but when I showed this card to Trav he instantly asked, "Is that a reindeer?" To which I couldn't respond because my mouth was open that he noticed! LOL! I thought I could pass a reindeer off as a regular old deer- GUESS NOT! LOL!
This card is very basic- I wanted to keep the masculine feel by not coloring or fussy cutting the "deer"/reindeer image... and I didn't want too many patterns cluttering up the design...so BASIC it is! I still love it:)

I used some old My Mind's Eye Gnome Sweet Gnome papers along with the Paper Smooches Enchanted Elves and Hullabaloo stamp sets. I also used the PS Ovals 1 and Elf Icons dies. And because I cannot help myself-- the gold embossing powder is by Imagine Crafts! You MUST get some! LOOOOOVE

That's it for me today--but make sure you stop by the RCC blog for more details for this challenge and DT inspiration!!! And click HERE to link up your creation!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Be blessed:}

There's a difference between a deer and a reindeer?!! I would have used the same image, and I think it's perfect!!! ;) So is the rest of the card! Sweet as can be, and yet still perfectly masculine - you're a genius - how did you do that??!!! LOVE IT!

Your FIL will love this..."reindeer" or 'deer' - whatever the case, it's a four-legged critter with antlers - and he'll be delighted you created something with his 'passion' in mind! I think it's funny that Trav noticed; he's just an incredibly 'tuned in' guy! Deer, papers, gift, embossing powder: LOVE everything!!! Hugs~c

Men are silly like that. Personally, I thought it was a brilliant idea to use that image for a hunter. I love your creativity. And the gold embossing is pretty awesome too.
