CardMaker + Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® blog hop

Hello, friends!

Welcome to Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® + CardMaker® Magazine blog ONE day blog hop and giveaway

Do you have foil, glitter, embossing powder and microbeads in your stash? We can show you new uses for them! "Wear Your Adhesives on the Outside" uses Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® products with different mediums to create designs. Let me show you how!
I received products from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® for use in my projects. The opinions are completely my own.

I have been planning my project for a couple of weeks, and I wanted to use either glitter or foil for my design----after seeing the small Thin 3D Foam Squares, my idea for a pixelated image was the winner! I love these Thin 3D Foam Squares because they are super sticky, which is great for grabbing glitter and holding it in place, and they add great dimension.

Here's how I created this card:

  1. Create cardbase using white cardstock and washi tape. Set it aside.
  2. Die cut your cardstock using the Paper Smooches Cross Stitch die.
  3. Create a pixel image using the smaller Thin 3D Foam Squares and die cut cardstock as the grid-- if you need a bit of help with a design, search Pinterest or the internet for "cross-stitch" images, "pixel images", etc. This was how I found the cactus image. **NOTE: I used a small pointed tool to pick up my foam squares and to place them perfectly on my die cut cardstock piece! It was very helpful!
  4. Add "color" and interest to your Thin 3D Foam Squares by removing the release paper and adding glitter. The glitter will stick to the top of the Thin 3D Foam SquaresTip#1: remove small sections of the release paper to ensure that the correct color of glitter is attached to that section. Tip#2: Use multiple hues of one color to give your image shading and a 3D look. Tip#3: Use a spoon to scoop your glitter from the container to your Thin 3D Foam Squares. And use a tub to collect all the excess glitter:)
  5. Use your finger to rub the glitter into the adhesive on the Thin 3D Foam Squares and tap off the excess glitter into your tub.
  6. Repeat this process for the entire image.
  7. Add Premium Double-Sided Tape 1/2in Permanent to the back of this cardstock to attach to your card base.
  8. Finish your card by adding a sentiment on vellum. **NOTE: I used small pointed scissors to cut my Thin 3D Foam Squares into super tiny strips. Then I placed these on the back of the vellum where the sentiment was stamped. You can see in the photo below that I cut one square into 4 pieces and used 2 on the sentiment.
And that's it!

This is an amazingly creative use of ADHESIVE, I can get so caught up in more paper, more dies, more bling, more stamps.... And on and on. Instead, you have taken creativity to a new level, using a product that lets you be the driving force behind the card!

I can only begin to see where I could go with your idea. A robot? A rainbow? Some flowers? This could open an entirely new arena and a way to use up all the glitter and beads I've purchases and then wondered what to do with them. I especially like the size of the Thin 3D Foam Squares.

Thanks for the inspiration!

I love your use of the thin foam squares, and I actually didn't know they came in the thin size. Your project is very colorful and gives me ideas of what to do with my large stash of embellishments!
