Paper Smooches SPARKS Sept. Cool Shades challenge

Hello, friends:}
Today we start another weekly challenge over at Paper Smooches SPARKS blog!! The third week of the month is always a Cool Shades challenge.

This week we are inspired by the following color story "Fresh Fall":
Purple, Teal, Lime Green, Grey

This is probably the FIRST time that I used the color story with ONLY cardstock! I didn't use any patterned paper! I also feel like I've pulled out a bit of Teri Anderson from deep inside of me again! I love love love her style... and I feel like this card kind of reminds me of some of her creations!

So my card is really basic (remember the PSS challenge invites all styles and crafters to join in the fun). I used the Paper Smooches Timber stamp for the woodgrain design, and then I paper pieced that super cute owl using the PS Fanciful Fall stamps and dies. I also used the tree from that set to create the branch- LOVE! I die cut some leaves using the PS Leaves1 die. SUPER simple and fun! And these papers match the color story perfectly! LOVE x100000!
That's it for me today--but be sure to stop by the other Paper Smooches SPARKS DT members' blogs and leave them some love

And don't forget to stop by the Paper Smooches SPARKS blog for more details!!!! This challenge ends September 22nd. I cannot wait to see what you make--I just LOOOOOVE my Paper Smooches stamps SO MUCH!

THANKS so much for stopping by! Be blessed:}

Virtual Smooches: Start to Finish (with Olsen)

Hello, friends:}

Today's my day to share a video over on the  Paper Smooches video blog- Virtual Smooches

OH MY! Before I start my post today, I would like to give a
HUGE HUGE HUGE shout out to NICK CROMWELL from AppleCare for helping me last night! The editing for this video took almost 7 hours because of a problem with a "still pic"! He was patient and super sweet! So THANK YOUNICK

My video today was supposed to be easy! I shared how I created a card from start to finish. There are a couple of great parts to this video:

  1. Olsen- he's the one who needed the card
  2. My commentary- I tried a voiceover since I was speeding up the video.
  3. The pictures of Olsen- you have to wait until the end to see these! LOL!

Be sure to check out the  Virtual Smooches blog {HERE} for my videos and details!

Here's a sneak peek of my card:
THANKS so much for stopping by--- be sure to go HERE for my video! Be blessed:}

Reverse Confetti- SFYTT#4

Hello, friends:}

Last week over on the Reverse Confetti blog you will find the NEW Sketch For You To Try challenge. Be sure to stop by the RC blog for more inspiration and details!

As you might have guessed... I made this sketch my own! Typical Sav! I moved the rectangle to the side and made it smaller. Plus, I used chevrons for the vertical piece, and then I used a journaling tag instead of a tag tag. I know-- I really should follow sketches better! Maybe for October! LOL!

BACKGROUND story: So Trav and I have been on vacation since August 29... I worked extremely hard to get my creations done for the week we were gone... I had over 11 projects to complete, plus about 15 posts and 2 videos. Let me say that doing these in such a short amount of time made me CRAZY! Plus, I think I might be low on mojo because the past two days I've created CAS cards!

All of that to say... sometimes you don't need to add/stamp much on a card. My card for this sketch is very very CAS! It's almost one layer too (if I hadn't put that tag on foam dots!!!). I paired some Becky Higgins' Project Life papers with one of my Me & My Big Idea journaling cards. I used the Reverse Confetti Arrows 'n Elements stamp sets as accents-- for the tag and the white chevrons. This set is PERFECT for adding just the right "extra" sentiment and those chevrons... MY FAV x10000000! I love how the chevrons on this card are subtle-- totally doing this again on another card! LOVE x100000!
***NOTE: I also normally don't like when my stamping is messy, but the chevrons are SOOOOOOOOO fab that I didn't start over or scrap this card! I love how the ink looks! Totally doing this on another card as well:) And I know you might not be able to see it, but trust me!!! It's awesome:)
That's it for me today! Be sure to stop by the Reverse Confetti blog for more inspiration and challenge details! **This sketch is open for 2 weeks-- from September 1 to the 14th. One winner will receive the next entire stamp release!!  **NOTE: We originally stated that you must play with Reverse Confetti stamps to win; however, we are allowing “anything goes” until the end of the year. Note, that we will be adding this requirement in January.

And stop by the RC Facebook page and "like" us!!

Paper Smooches SPARKS Sept. Designer Drafts challenge

Hello, friends:}

Today we start another weekly challenge over at Paper Smooches SPARKS blog!! The second week of the month is always a DESIGNER DRAFT challenge.

This week we are inspired by the following sketch:
Ok-- I just want you to know that I realllllllllly tried to follow this sketch! I did! But since we are on vacation and I had to make this before we left... I needed a simple CAS design. So I changed some of this sketch: 1. I didn't use a center panel 2. The polka dots are words and 3. I didn't use a center sentiment on the banner. This is a "Typical Sav" sketch... so that shouldn't surprise you:)

I created this card for my Mom's friend/co-worker. She was diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer (not sure which one... but I figured a pink card would be ok for any type). She really needs to be lifted up, so I wanted to give her a card using my FAV Paper Smooches stamp set, Hope. I also used the PS Hope die along with the Streamers die and coordinating stamp set. And the sentiment is from the PS Spiritual Sampler set. LOOOOOOVE how this turned out! **If you have time, please pray for Bev and her family. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!
That's it for me today--but be sure to stop by the other Paper Smooches SPARKS DT members' blogs, get inspired, and leave them some love

Reverse Confetti: September Blog Hop

Hello, friends:}

Today is the 8th of the month and that means it's time for a creative blog hop with the Reverse Confetti DT and friends! We are inspiring you with projects and cards using the NEW September release stamp sets (well... all of the RC stamps really!). We also have some EXTRA fans joining in the fun with the DT!!!

If you came from Nancy Thomas's blog, you are in the right place-- if you would like to start from the beginning of the hop, please click HERE or go to the Reverse Confetti blogIt would be worth your while to start at the beginning of the hop, so you don't miss a thing!!! We have tons of inspiration for you to see using RC's 4 brand new stamp sets!!!

I went with a fun design for this card-- I love these Dear Lizzy 5th & Frolic papers! I made that leaf tag by painting kraft paper and highlighting with a black glaze pen. I also made that brad using the Imaginisce iTop. The stamps are from the NEW Reverse Confetti Forever Fall stamp set. I love making "thank you" cards and this is a perfect set for this theme! **NOTE: Trav's Poppie was over while I was making this card. I asked him how it looked. His response was not what I expected! He said, "Why did you use staples? It looks like you messed up." Then he said that the paper was not attached in the corner and that it was crooked. OH MY! He's a HOOT! LOL!
That's it for me today! Be sure to stop by the Reverse Confetti blog for more inspiration and details! Next up--hop on over to Val's amazing blog! **If you get lost along the way, you can find the hop order and list of all the participating designers over on the Reverse Confetti blog

Whisker Graphics & Virtual Smooches

Hello, friends:}

Today I've combined my Virtual Smooches  and Whisker Graphics posts-- I know I'm early for my VS post/video, but I'm out of town and didn't want to leave you all hanging this week! Plus, I used both Paper Smooches stamps and dies and WG product in this post-- why not "kill two birds with one stone"???! LOL!

This week I share how I die cut the front part of the WG bitty bag using some PS dies. This is a SUPER SIMPLE technique-- and it's great for dressing up any bag!
