Nina Brackett's image for five challenges:)

Hello friends:}

I have one card for FIVE challenges! Can you believe it??? And I used Nina Brackett's new Squigglefly images! LOOOOVE them! I just love everything Nina does--she is super creative!

This card was created for Squigglefly [Get Well], Card Patterns [sketch], Stampin' Sisters in Christ [distressing], Lucy's Cards [digital], and Tim Holtz [How do you distress?] challenges. I love this card--I used Nina's new Squigglefly images-Stitched with Love. I just printed off the sentiment. I used Cosmo Cricket papers and a digital paper by Mel Stampz. I distressed all the edges and the digital paper (to make it look worn). I really like how this turned out. The pins in the corners were too long...so I used pliers to cut them, and I really like that because now they are not sharp!
**NOTE:: I know--the sentiment and sewing machine are off center....well, I was going to tie a bow on the side...but it was too big-so I didn't know what to do....I still love this card:}

Thanks so much for stopping by! Love when I get to share some Nina goodness with you:} Be sure to stop by tomorrow for another BEAUTIFUL Play Date Cafe challenge! The colors are goregous--and I am the Challenge Host, so I will be sharing with you a video and pics:}

Thanks again for stopping by! Be blessed:}

Card Patterns challenge using Nina Brackett Squigglefly images

Hello, friends:}

I'm super excited about this card that I made today! I LOOOOOOOOOOOVE Nina Brackett--her style, her images, everything about her! I used her new Squigglefly images on this card today. It is for the Card Patterns #64 challenge. Super fun! I stitched each button with burlap [available at Limelight for cheap cheap cheap!]. I also paper pieced the pin cushion. I love how this card turned out! LOVE it:}
**NOTE:: Not sure if you can see it--but the top of the ruler has a gold line like the real metal/wood rulers! LOVE it:)

That's it for today--I'm going to be playing with Nina's images later tonight...I have another card/design that I would like to use them on! Love these images! I will be back tomorrow to share a fun Play Date Cafe challenge card!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Love when we visit! Now go check out Nina's images:} Be blessed!

Squigglefly/Stampin' Royalty challenges...

Hello, friends:}

I promised yesterday that I would share some Nina Brackett goodness today--and here are two projects using her Digital stamps from Squigglefly, as well as her new Vintage Background stamps and Bright and Grungy digital paper.

My first project is actually a bookmark. Squigglefly has a bookmark challenge going on right now--and this fits right in with the Stampin' Royalty challenge [anything but a card]. I used Nina's Squigglefly Hooty Who images. LOOOOVE this owl! I made the bookmark for a young boy who needs to keep reading over the summer. Three books this summer isn't too bad:} I paper pieced each leaf and branch. I attached the owl to a paper clip so he could move the owl up when he was finished with each book. This bookmark could also be used over and over--as a teacher, I had to "bribe" my students to read...so maybe challenge a kid to read three books a month and then three a week...endless possibilities!

This card is one of my favs! I actually didn't think of it--I saw a card by Vanessa Menhorn on page 41 in my new Paper Crafts mag. I knew as soon as I saw her flower that I could use Nina's digital Fancy Flower (printed right on the Bright and Grungy and transparency), as well as the text Vintage Background stamp for this card. **NOTE:: I try not to copy cards that I see...but this one was too beautiful not to! I had the same thicker letter stickers and similar paper...I just had to! LOVE this card, Vanessa! Thanks for inspiring me:}
It looks so similar to Vanessa's....I LOVE it!
Well, that is it for me today...I have lots more to create...and a bit of shopping to do [for groceries--nothing fun today!]. Thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to stop back tomorrow--I've got a special gift to share with you...and possibly some cards! Be blessed:}
Until next time~
Love, Sav

Nina Brackett...a challenge card {post 2}

Hello, friends:}

This is post #2::: so be sure to scroll down and up to see more Unity goodness! Growing with Unity

This card is super cute! I love the colors and stamps! This card is for the Stamp Away With Me color challenge. The stamps are digital and are Nina Brackett's Squigglefly Fancy Flowers. Super cute! I printed them twice--once on yellow and then on transparency. I embossed them and cut them out. I love how they look! The sentiment is also from Nina's Fancy Flower set. This card was very simple!
I was hoping to have some more  Nina Brackett stamps--Gina K. Design stamps! But I did not get any happy mail this week :{ So I will be posting more cards using her designs later! If you haven't been over to Nina's blog, or Stamp TV, or Gina K's blog...do so now! Great stuff going on--like a release party TONIGHT over on Stamp TV from 7-10pm  central! Be there or be square!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to scroll up and down for more post! Love when I get to share some of my favorite images and creations with you! Be blessed:}

Unity cards....3rd day Growing with Unity

Hello, friends:}

I'm blown away--I love love love all your support! Thanks for visiting me and my little world!! Or should I call it "land" or "country" since my blog title is SAVANNAHLAND...hm... I wish I could Grow with Unity for a MONTH! Speaking of Unity, has anyone ever noticed that I tend to use all Unity/Ippity stamps for my  cards? **NOTE:: I have used Nina Brackett/Squigglefly (which I LOVE LOVE LOVE!!). On Friday, I will have a total number of cards that I have created using Unity/Ippity  stamps. So if you leave a comment today--try and guess how many you think I've made!!

My first card was created for the All Things Unity challenge. I love this card--it fits the picture perfectly! I used the bedspread's texture (vertical lines), the texture of the tray (burlap), the color of the teapot, and flowers (which I think the ribbon looks exactly like those flower puffs!). I love love love it! I used Unity's Sept. KOTM cup and sentiment. This card was def. CAS!
Not sure you can see it--but here is a close-up of the vertical lines and texture.
This second card was created for a friend. She needed a baby card. I used Unity's Could I Be Any Cuter (which is available at Limelight) for the elephant. **NOTE:: The elephant is actually on the inside of the card--the circle goes all the way through! I also used Unity's music background stamp and embossed it on vellum. I like that vellum over bright colors. The scallop on the edge is from Ippity's Sweet Thoughts of Spring. Trav really likes this card too.
This last card was created using American Craft paper and Unity's butterfly stamp from the Butterfly Beauty set. I also used Unity's Treasure to Me set for the sentiment. I entered this card for a challenge over on the CARDS blog. It was featured back in Feb!! This card was also part of my first publication! It was one of the three cards featured in the Harbor Style magazine {pages 28-29}. All three cards featured Unity stamps! I made this card for a very very special person--she has got to be one of the BEST moms ever--she did a great job raising Trav! LOVE this card!
Here is a side view of the transparency on top of the DP for the 3D butterfly.
**NOTE:: This also could be entered into Lucy's stitching challenge!

In the Past:: These three cards are in my TOP 8 favorite cards ever! I love love love them. The first one was created for an EtsyInspired challenge. I love green--and I love how this card turned out with that beautiful metallic paper. That sentiment is from Unity's Feb. KOTM. ACK--love it! I am really into feathers as well! Super cute:}

This next card is another bird card--it uses Unity's Where You Are stamp set (Donna Downey) [also available at Limelight]. The sentiment is from Ippity's Regal Greetings set. Love sentiment sets! I embroidered the bird cage. SOOOOOOO cute! Love it! I love the feather and just everything about it!

This last card was one of my first cards as a DT member for The Play Date Cafe. I love love love this name tag stamp from Unity [Capture Life set]. I have had this design sketched out for about four months! I love it! And the color combo for that week was perfect for a baby boy card. ACK--super cute!

Well, that is it for me today. Thanks so much for stopping by today and making it this far in the post!!! I love love love visiting with you! Love sharing my creations! Be sure to stop back by tomorrow for more Unity goodness! I have a couple more cards to share--brand new! Birthday cards! And be sure to guess how many cards you think I have made using Unity/Ippity  stamps. Hint:: I got my first Unity stamp in August 2009--so that doesn't give me much time to create....???

Thanks again for everything. You have made this week GREAT! Can't wait to share the rest of my cards with you! Be blessed:}
Until next time~
Love, Sav

Squigglefly and Critter challenges

Hello, friends:}

As promised....I've made two cards using Nina Brackett's Squigglefly images! I love her images! Be sure to check it out HERE.
The first card is for the Squigglefly challenge- make a flap card. I wanted to make a cute double flap card for a friend. I love love love these two little birds on the branches! I flipped the image to make it look like they were talking to each other. These birds are from the Sew Cute set. I also used the sentiment from the Tweet Friend set. I love this card--super super cute!

My next card is for the Critter Sketch Challenge. We were to use the sketch provided. I thought that Nina's Squigglefly branch would do the trick! I said I love these images!! LOVE them! The images are from the Sew Cute set. I love it! I love the gingham paper in the background--I didn't think it was gingham at first, but I researched the definition (I know--geeky!) and it fit! **NOTE:: This card also fits the CAARDVARKS challenge.
That is all for today--I know, short post, but I have to get to bed. I've had a long long week. However, I think things are looking "up" and positive! So I'm excited about that! Thanks so much for stopping by! I have an awesome award to share tomorrow! My friend, Bonnie, gave it to me!! It made my weekend:} I also have a fun card that I entered into the EBTKS, Die Cuts R Us, and Color Throwdown challenges....and there is a story for this card! So be sure to come back tomorrow!
Until next time~
Love, Sav

Hope Stamps Eternal Cupcake Challenge #53

Hello, friends:}

I wanted to share this mini card with you before I leave for my friend's shower. This card, 2.5 x 4 inches, was created for the Hope Stamps Eternal Cupcake challenge. The inspiration were these garden cupcakes--flowers and butterflies. I used the green as my background. The bracket stamp is from Unity's Favorite Things set. The heart/flower is from Unity's March KOTM. I stamped that several times on colored paper and then paper pieced it to the base. I then had the great idea (after finishing the card) to sew over the stem of the heart/flower...and the lines behind the letters. I think this is a super cute mini birthday card. Love all the colors together. A hint of each!
I better get going---I hope to get some good pics at the shower! Thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to stop back by tomorrow for a Nina Brackett/Squigglefly creation! Love when we get to visit:}
Until next time~
Love, Sav

ps...don't forget about the PDCC challenge! And a new Limelight challenge starts on Thursday:}

a couple of challenges with one card...and a baby shower invite

Hello, friends:}

As promised, I have some Nina Brackett goodness to share today:}

My first card was created for Nina's sketch challenge [ends April 10], SPCC#42 color challenge, and Moxie Fab's Picking Up the Pieces challenge. I love this digital cake image by Nina Brackett (Squigglefly), as well as the sentiment. Super pretty! As soon as I saw the color combo over at SPCC, I knew I had to make a wedding card! And then as I was paper piecing the cake, I knew it was good for the Moxie Fab challenge! I love love love when I can make a card that fits several challenges:} I know it is hard to see--but the eggplant card stock is metallic. The top and bottom of the cake has been embossed with polka dots, and the bow and the cake's middle layer was spritzed with shimmer mist (perfect pearls). I know these pics are not the greatest--so if anyone has suggestions for photographing metallic paper or white embossed designs...please leave a comment!!

My second card is the baby shower invite for my friend, Court. I had to block out some information on the card, but you get the idea. All images used are Nina Brackett's Squigglefly digital images. ACK--love love love these birds! I paper pieced them as well. The branch I used my watercolor pencils for a soft effect. Love these invites. Simple. I actually got the idea of using birds and making a CAS invite from the picture on the right. **NOTE:: When I first started looking at designs, I didn't write down the names or blogs of where I saw these. I'm getting better at writing these things down! There is hope:}
Well...I'm off for a meeting and tutoring...and more and more! Thanks so much for stopping by! I've got the cutest card to share for tomorrow for another Play Date Cafe challenge!! Super fun! Love when we visit:}
Until next time~

Limelight Design Team theme challenge

Hello, friends:}

On the 6th of each month, Limelight's DT has a themed challenge. This month, Mandy asked us to make a project incorporating fabric. This theme is called "Fabulous Fabric". I love to sew...."sew" this was a fun project! I made two aprons.
My first apron is called the "dingbat apron". I wish I could take credit for this idea--but I saw it on a TV show about a year ago. And I've wanted to make one since! It is for "dingbats" who don't know how to cook. **NOTE:: I don't think I'm a dingbat in the kitchen...but when I was making my matching card...I accidentally put the wrong conversion on it!! You can't see it since it is covered up! Eh. This apron has several cooking measurements and conversions on the front. They are written upside down because the cook needs to read them while cooking! The apron also should look like ledger paper. My paper that I used on my card was yellow with lime green lines. The sewn green lines are hard to see far away--but if you are looking at the apron up close--it looks just like ledger paper.

These are close-ups of the apron--not the greatest pics...those lime green lines are hard to see:{
The matching card uses real ledger paper--this DP would go well with Limelight's Cosmo Cricket~ The Boyfriend or October Afternoon~ Report Card. The stamps are Unity stamps--lots of Unity stamps available at Limelight!! The measuring cup has white flocking (also found at Limelight) for flour! Super cute!!

The flour flocking--not the greatest pic--but you get the idea:}
The second apron I made is called a belly apron. It is for expecting mothers. The cool thing for mothers-to-be is to wear normal shirts and cover your belly with an apron. The pic of this apron is down near the waist of the mannequin; however, if you were pregnant, you would wear it up near the top of your belly. This is double-sided. I made it for my friend, Court. She is due in June.
The matching card uses the same fabric for the base and solid kraft, green, and yellow card stock (lots of solid card stock colors available at Limelight). I also used a Unity butterfly stamp (Limelight carries several butterfly stamps). The pink burlap string is also available at Limelight!!

I really enjoyed this challenge! Please check out the other Limelight DT members to see what they created:
