a card...thanks...and the last day of 2009

Hello, friends:}

Well...it’s the last day of 2009....and I have so much to be thankful for! This year has brought on some good memories and some difficult decisions. I can’t believe 365 days have gone by already!

I would like to start my post with a card...and then some THANK YOUs!

This year Trav told me to do something that I wasn’t sure I wanted to do...this happens LOTS:} He told me to number all the cards that I create. Normally I stamp my trademark and website/email and then would just put the month and year...now I put “2009.342” or whatever. I am thankful that I listened to Trav because this year I created 479 cards! I also made about 50 wedding invites, some baby shower invites, etc...that I didn’t number. So I was a busy girl! I did mess up though...

Here is a pic of a card that I sent my sister-in-law (she took the pic...because I can't believe I sent it like this!). She is getting married in Nov. 2010--so to celebrate her wedding I am sending a card every month on the day that she will be married (this is something that I do for friends/family). Well...this card, I forgot to fill in my trademark and the number of the card! YIKES! I guess I was so busy....that it slipped my mind!! It was #479. My goal for next year::: 500 or more!

As the year ends...I think back on what I’ve done...where I’ve been...where I want to go...and I have to say that I am always thankful for everything--but I never seem to say it enough. I would like to say a couple of THANK YOUs (or what I am thankful for) as I reflect back on this year.

First of all, I have to say that I am thankful that GOD is my Lord and that Jesus is my Savior! I am so thankful that He and He alone gets me through my days! I am so blessed to have a Lord this forgiving and loving! Thank you, JESUS:}

Second of all...I am thankful for TRAV. I had to make a very hard decision this year around August. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to continue teaching or if I wanted to leave my profession (which by the way...we had just paid off my college loans...and I wasn’t sure it was a good idea to leave something that I paid THAT MUCH for!). Trav really helped me focus and look at what was best for our family. I ended up leaving...and it was the BEST choice EVER! I am so thankful that I listened to him and that I have time to be a wife and craft. I do have to work on all the “wife jobs”--I need to start cleaning and doing laundry more...maybe that can be my new year’s resolution!

I am also very thankful for all of you! I am so blessed to have you visit with me and listen to all the craziness that happens to me! I can’t wait to blog more in 2010--just a side note...I told Trav about a year ago that I would NEVER EVER blog. I didn’t like it....whoa was I wrong! I LOVE IT! Because of YOU! So thank you thank you thank you!

I have so much more to be thankful for--healthy nieces and nephews...a wonderful family (and in-laws)...awesome friends that help lift us up....a house...jobs...a church....our music....etc. etc. I am truly blessed!

Thanks for a wonderful ending to 2009! Happy New Year!
So until 2010~
Love, Sav

one more card....

Hello, friends:}

I hope that you all are having fun this holiday season! I know that I am enjoying my time with my family!! The snow/ice/cold....not so much:}

I just wanted to share another card with you. I made this for the JUGS12 challenge. We were to use the colors: pink, green, kraft, and red. I wasn’t sure what to do...but I love love love this card! I need to work on my white stamping--any suggestions? Or fav products that you use?

The stamps I used were from my new Dec. KOTM from Unity. I love love love UNITY! The papers were all scraps. How cool is that? I should enter this in the 10 minute scrap challenges....although...it took me more like an hour because I messed up! EH!

My card didn’t make the CHIC of the WEEK...but it was mentioned on the JUGS website. Check it out HERE. Click HERE if you would like to see my other Unity designed cards. Or click HERE if you want to visit my gallery on Splitcoast Stampers.

Again, Merry CHRISTmas!!! Happy new year!!!
Until next time~

hello...and tuna

Hello, friends:}

Merry CHRISTmas!! We are headed to Indiana right now...but I wanted to share a quick surprise that I gave Trav yesterday!!

Trav loves loves loves THE OFFICE! I love it too! His favorite character is Andy Bernard. I am not sure who I like the most...but I love that show! Anyway...Andy always calls Jim “BIG TUNA”. One day about three months ago- Trav saw a shirt that said “BIG TUNA”. He laughed and thought it was the greatest. I knew I wanted to get him one of these for Christmas...but like my previous post...Trav can’t stay off our online banking site!! So instead of buying the shirt...I’m gave him a can of tuna!

Now he can order the correct size and get the color that he wants...HA! I love it;} This was one way of getting around ordering online and charging the credit card!

Thank you thank you thank you for all your love and support!!! I hope that your Christmas gatherings were filled with joy and love!

So until next year~
Love, Sav

ps...here is a gift that we got from our friend Jeff Care from Gospel Gifts!

Trav asked Jeff about all the bows and going all out for decorating the gift...Jeff’s reply, “Well, I asked myself, ‘How would JBD decorate this?’” HA! I love it! I think I might have to hire him to work for JBD!!!

Happy birthday, JESUS!!!!

Hello, friends:}

And Merry CHRISTmas!!! Happy Birthday, JESUS!!!

I just wanted to wish everyone God’s peace, love, joy, and blessings during this holiday season...and in the new year!

And His name shall be called
Wonderful Counsellor,
the mighty God, the everlasting Father,
the Prince of Peace
Isaiah 9:6

Here is a pic of our Christmas tree. It isn’t decorated other than lights and three small ornaments. We also put all our Christmas cards (which we call “gifts”) on the branches. We just ran out of time...plus, I saw this really cool saying~ wish I could remember it exactly...but it was something about keeping Christmas simple and about the real reason for the season (Jesus). So we are simple and celebrating our Savior’s birth!!!

As for our celebrations...we won’t start until around 6pm tonight (Trav has to work until 5). And then we leave sunny Florida for the bitter cold and Indiana. YIKES! We are def. bundling up! We will celebrate up there for about a week--so lots to do this holiday!

Thanks for sharing the past couple of months with me. I am excited about our friendships and the new year! I have lots in store for Jelly Bean Designs (BIG BIG BIG sale in January)...and for my blog...I’m thinking of new ideas for cards!! Can’t wait to share them with you:) Thank you thank you thank you for all your love and support!!!

So until next year~
Love, Sav

ps...here is part of the Christmas story:: Sorry for the typos...tried to fit this in between cookies and packing:}

Luke 2
1In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2(This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3And everyone went to his own town to register.
 4So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
The Shepherds and the Angels
 8And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ[a] the Lord. 12This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."
 13Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
 14"Glory to God in the highest,
      and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."

 15When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about."
 16So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

check check...and iPOD Touch:)

Hello, friends:}

Sorry to all my followers...my husband and I were working on how to change the fonts and colors of my new blog! We think we have it...(finger’s crossed!).

Speaking of followers...my first two followers should have received an email today about their crafty candy they WON! I was so impressed with them following me...that I wanted to say THANK YOU! Stephanie and Jen, please send an email to me with your addresses! CONGRATULATIONS:}

Well...Trav posted earlier tonight (while trying to figure this technology out)... “Savannah went a bit crazy and bought me an iPOD Touch. Darn it! No presents!” He was right--my mom and I went together to get him an iPOD. I think he likes it...and he deserves it! Trav is the BEST!! And again, he is right- we said, “no presents”....but I cannot NOT give gifts--that is my personality! I love giving things to others. And who knows...maybe Santa will bring more!!!

I hope you are doing well tonight- thanks for checking in with us! I hope that I learn how to use this blog soon! Let me know if it is slow to load on your computer due to our fonts....or if colors are not showing...etc. I appreciate your love and support;)

Until next time~

H{ippity} Hop...Hop...Hop

Hello, friends:} And friends from Ippity!!!

First of all...I have to explain-- I had to get a NEW blog site due to some issues. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my old site...but now you can leave messages all the time...you can see all the entries instead of just one at a time....as for the cool fonts and things that I usually use...I don’t know how that works yet--so if you have suggestions or ways to help me, PLEASE EMAIL ME:} I hope that you enjoy this blog as much as the other one!

Now on to our H{ippity} Hop!! Thanks for stopping by...I have been so busy with my Ippity and KOTM sets...I LOVE LOVE LOVE UNITY! and Ippity!

My first card was inspired by a sketch that I saw about five months ago--I know...I need to write down the site and person/group that inspired me...however, I threw away the paper and went from memory on the sketch! It included two different DPs with rounded corners and a saying on a strip of paper. I used the house from the Simply Home line. I also used the heart (my fav!!) from the Devoted Ippity set. I love the little scrapper’s floss on the heart. I also love these colors--red, purple, and orange.

My next card was a sad card to make-- my favorite professor, Dr. James Watson, passed away about two weeks ago. He was the BEST! I took his Physics 101 and 401 courses. He would teach physics by using toys- which we always got to keep!! He went ABOVE and BEYOND! Dr. Watson and his wife would visit Trav and I in FL...and even came to our wedding! Like I said, the BEST!

I also made this card for a friend of the family- her father passed around the same time. For both families, I wanted to make something special and soft. I love that blue--and the DP is so pretty too. I used the butterfly from the Devoted set and the sentiment from Just Wanted to Say.

Here is a pic of Dr. Watson and his wife visiting us a year or two ago.

Here are two other cards that I made this past week--they were for JUGS11 and IHHC2. Each one had to have a background made with stamps and use the chalkboard technique. On the snowman card--I stamped Ippity's Kissmas and Mistletoe snowflake with blue, white, and silver right on torn muslin. The butterfly card was created using the Devoted set. I love the colors on that card- soft...and yet paired with a bold and powerful verse.

Check out the other Ippity projects by clicking HERE. Be sure to some love for all the gals playing along!

Moxie Fab--All Creatures

Hello, friends:}

Today’s card is for Moxie Fab’s challenge: All Creatures Great and Small. I know birds and owls are in right now, but I wanted to use a different creature...so I went to my old Hero Arts critter stamps (NOTE::they really aren’t THAT old). I LOVE LOVE LOVE the  smell of skunk...so when I saw this critter...I knew I had to make a card with him. I used a simple background with rounded corners and distressed ink- Fired Brick.

I think this is the perfect card for my gift for a family member. Q: Why do they get a card on top of their gift??? Well...I didn’t make all the Christmas cards that I wanted...thus a card/gift.

Another note:: Trav has been working with me on my photos--I think this is looking better than some of my old photos...if you have any suggestions, please please PLEASE let me know!

I hope that you had a great weekend--I only have a couple more things to do before I have to start shopping for family and friends...and then I can relax!! Hopefully I can get this all done before Christmas!

Thanks so much for visiting! I LOVE our visits and comments- they make me smile:}

Until next time~

random pics...

Hello, friends:} It’s cold again....and Trav and I had the weekend off!! Lots of loafing....so fun:)

I forgot to post this a couple weeks ago--Trav and I went to roam the streets of PC. We had two coupons for free sandwiches! We took a pic of our awesome meal:: two sandwiches, two curly fries, a large coke, and two shakes. **NOTE:: we got all of this from three restaurants- Checkers, Steak N Shake, and Arby's.  We got all of this for 8 bucks! The cool thing about it was they gave us two more coupons for free sandwiches...so we went again a week later! HA! We were so excited that there would be a “cycle” to these coupons...but on our last trip, we only received one free coupon. EH--I’m sure we will still use it!

Here is a pic of Trav and I after singing at our church. Each anniversary, we are to take pics of ourselves for our Love Letters journal. But for the past two years, we have forgotten or weren’t on a trip. So...this year’s photo is at our church (two months late). We forgot to ask someone to take our pic...and had to use the truck bed! I think Trav looks cute;)

I know this was a random posting...still trying to get used to this new blog:{

But as always--Thanks so much for visiting! I LOVE our visits- they mean so much to me!!! And thank you thank you thank you for leaving comments- they make me smile:}
Until next time~

FWF....5 pics to share...plus one extra :}

Hello, friends:} And my friends with flair and other Unity addicts!!!

Well...there was an awesome opportunity that I couldn’t pass up trying out for this week. Over at Ippity there were some DT positions open. I know I am new to blogging and stamping and the such...but I thought I would try anyway...I have been working on making my submissions ever since I saw the position posting!! I submitted the following cards:::

1st card: I LOVE how this card could be made with several sentiments....I just LOVE how the bracket (is that what you call it?) highlights one of the sayings!

This card was made second...and I just fell in LOVE with the “family” and “you and I” stamps...I knew I had to put them together. When I made this card, I was working on my “You’re My Type” card. I used the same colors and the txt background. I LOVE the stitching and think that the sentiment fits perfectly...I can’t wait to give this to my husband:}

**NOTE: TRO’G~if you are reading this--forget what you just read!!!

My third card was a simple card to make. I LOVE the colors and the little leaf tree on the side. Nothing special  done to make this card...I did forget to stitch on the words until after I put my foam dots on the house and attached it...AH! But it worked out. I am really liking CAS (clean and simple) cards right now.

**NOTE: I JUST found out what CAS means! I was using it WRONG:{ Crazy acronyms!

4th card: This was a fun card to create...I LOVE the distressing on the strip on the bottom. I also LOVE the circles. I wish I would have used a bit darker “teal” on the circle--but I LOVE the way this turned out. Well....the only other thing I would change would be making the circles not so close together. But I still LOVE it:}

My fifth card is one of my FAVORITES:) I LOVE how the bird is on top of the cow (that was hard trying to stamp them together!). I used liquid applique for the snow. LOVE it!

I wished I would have sent this last card in...I made it after I submitted everything...I just LOVE the DP (My Mind’s Eye) and the stamps together!

Side note::: I know that there are some really creative gals out there that submitted cards and projects as well. I did my best, and I am excited that I tried out. I also am excited that I have found UNITY. UNITY’s crew is the BEST!! And so are all the gals that USE UNITY. Thanks for EVERYTHING:}
