RCC and CAS-Friday

Hello, friends:}

Today is a special day! The Ribbon Carousel and CAS-Fridays teams are joining up! The RCC is sponsoring the CAS-Fridays challenge this week.

I know this card style and design has been created before--but I couldn't help but make one for a dear friend who has cancer. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month--and I thought this was the perfect creation in honor of my friend (and friends--so many have cancer). I used 3/4" pink v-striped twill ribbon {available HERE at The Ribbon Carousel website} along with some die cut letters. SIMPLE! Totally CAS!
That's it for me today! Be sure to stop by the The Ribbon Carousel blog and the CAS-Fridays blog for more details on prizes and challenge rules!

THANKS so much for stopping by! Many blessings:}

My Dad:)

Hello, friends:}

I just had to share some pics of my Dad and I! He travels all around for his job, and he was in my town for a couple of hours the other day. Literally it was a 3 hour visit. But I didn't mind....I would take any visit from my family since I hardly ever get to see them (unless we fly home).

Here is a pic of Dad and Olsen--Olsen was barking at Dad a TON when he first stopped by. He doesn't like men with beards. LOL! But after awhile he went and sat by Dad. **MOM--this is proof that Dad loves animals:)
Sorry for the horrible pic--I had less than a second to take it- Olesn doesn't stay still for long!

This is a pic of us eating king/snow crab. We went to a local restaurant with seafood--if you look out the window in the picture you will see the Myakka River. Not more than 20 minutes after this pic was taken, Travis pointed out a large alligator floating down the river!
Here are some of the birds we saw. Great pics, Trav!

One last pic before Dad left. **Note:: I know I look like a hot mess--but Dad was early when stopping by--which I should have known he would be! He is ALWAYS early! I was in the middle of sweeping/mopping the floor! LOL!
That's it for me. Just wanted to share some photos. Be sure to stop by later this week....I've got some fun creations to share:)

THANKS so much for visiting! Be blessed:}

Review Easy Canvas Prints

Hello, friends:}

**Please scroll down for my RCC post or click HERE!

I tried out a new canvas company last week-- Easy Canvas Prints.  Easy Canvas Prints will turn your pictures to canvas

Easy Canvas Prints has a very user friendly website--this made our purchase even EASIER! We used this photo from The Keys (on our snorkeling extravaganza) and added a scripture verse at the top {Ecc. 3:1}.
photo by TROG

Our canvas was shipped to us really quick--and it was sooooooooo pretty! Way better than I could have imagined! We ended up ordering the print with the picture wrapped around the canvas--it looks amazing!

We decided that we would give our picture on canvas to our Poppie since he just moved into a new home. And since he has a NEW home...he needed a NEW picture! **NOTE:: we decided to order an 8 x 10 canvas since we didn't know where it would be placed in Poppie's new home.
The canvas looks just like the pic in real life--but I had to modify this photo because we took it with our iPhone.
My hair is a MESS! But Poppie looks good:)

Easy Canvas Prints' website has lots of fun features and great prices! These canvas prints are GREAT gifts:} Be sure to check them out HERE. 2 thumbs up for Easy Canvas Prints!

That's it for me today! Thanks so much for stopping by! Be blessed:}

RCC22 Alter It

Hello, friends:}

Today we start a brand new RCC challenge!! Have you ever thought of all the different things you can do with your spooled items? You can scrunch it, sew it, pucker it, fold it, make flowers and embellies with it...and SOOOO much more! This week, Jessie wants us to ALTER your spooled item {RCC22}.
Our sponsor this week is Cosmo Cricket! With their new Glubers, you can make big and small flowers and embellies in a jiff. Eric & Julie, owners of the immensely popular Cosmo Cricket, were kind enough to send the Carousel Crew Glubers to make their amazing creations this week. And for one lucky participant, not only will you get your own Glubers...but you will also receive the UPcycle Crafting Kit! Super lucky!

I was so excited to make my very first Gluber flower....I used my orange ribbon from the RCC Sept. Ribbon Kit to make a 2" circle flower. But then I started to look at it, and I decided to make it into a SNAIL! It was the perfect size. And Ashley helped me with the sentiment! I finished my card off with some Brown Sugar Divine Twine {available at the RCC}. Easy!
The RCC team would love for you to join in the fun this week! Here are the details:
  • Make your creation following the ribbon carousel challenge (sketch, inspiration, style or color) image. Be sure to include some type of ribbon, twine, hemp, lace....basically, anything that comes on a spool.
  • Your creation can be ANYTHING from cards, quilts, sewn items, paper crafts, paintings! ***Be sure to have ribbon, bakers twine, jute twine, lace, thread (basically anything that comes on a spool) on your creation! And be sure to follow the RCC challenge theme!
  • Load your creation up onto your blog or a public viewing forum like SplitcoastStampers, (use the keyword RCC22) with a direct link back to The RCC blog post. Including the challenge graphic isn't a requirement, but sure is appreciated! A participant of our very first challenge didn't link back or mention our challenge and couldn't be named Top Spool, so don't let that happen to you!
  • Come back to The RCC blog post and link in your creation using the Inlinkz button at the bottom of this post. Your image may take a little while to pop up but don't worry it will appear shortly.
  • Be sure to come back the Friday after the challenge ends to see if YOU are a Top Spool! :D
This Challenge will end on October 3rd at 11:59pm EST.

I really hope you will play along! Please stop by the RCC blog for more details, more projects from the RCC DT, and to link up your creation! Also, please head over to The Ribbon Carousel website and check out their products--my FAV May Arts ribbon arrived yesterday!!! SOOOO excited:)

Before I go--  The Ribbon Carousel is also selling ribbon kits! LOVE--what a great idea. September's kit has a Halloween theme! FUN! Here are some links to the kits on the RCC website.

Sept Ribbon Club Kit $9.25 **20 yards of ribbon and twine
3 months of Ribbon Club Kits $27.00 **Get the current month and the next two months! Great price!
6 months of Ribbon Club Kits $49.95 **Get the current month and the next five months!

Owl You Doin'?

Hello, friends:}

I'm back with another Sweet Stamp Shop creation-- I just can't get enough of these images! It's my day over on the SSS blog--so be sure to stop by there and leave some love!

Today I'm sharing a card using the Melvin and Vernie set. LOVE those little owls! I was inspired by this mini album by Teri Anderson. I just love her!! I wish my card was a bit more "Teri-like"...I loved her sketch and it worked perfectly for my card!! I used some BasicGrey paper {Pyrus} and some burlap ribbon. Easy!! And super cute!
I also wanted to share some special projects made by my favorite little friends, Ayden and Ilana! They are the cutest little ones!! They stopped by our house a couple of weeks ago and wanted to get inky! I love this pic of them sharing my chair and desk! They both used the SSS Melvin and Vernie stamp set. I think we have some future crafters here:)
Notice Ayden drawing on my mat! LOL!

Ayden with his glittered owl. He has used sharpies and crayons to color along with some gems for accents:}

Ilana and her super amazing project! LOVE how she wrote her name so neatly and colored the owl with so many colors! BEAUTIFUL:) Ilana has also used sharpies, glitter, and gems (notice the gem branch under the owl!).

That's it for me today--be sure to stop by the Sweet Stamp Shop blog for more info on this card and to see what the owner of SSSNicole, has been up to! And if you have some extra time, please stop by our YouTube channel (I'm hoping to add a video tutorial of my tooth keeper SOON!), our FB page, follow us on Twitter  and link up any creations you have made using SSS images on Flickr

Thanks so much for stopping by! Be blessed:)

Sweet Tooth:)

Hello, friends:}

I'm back with another Sweet Stamp Shop creation. It's my day over on the SSS blog--so be sure to stop by there and leave some love!

I created two projects using the Sweet Tooth stamp set. For my first project, I was thinking of my nephew, Jackson. He is 5 1/2 and should be losing some teeth....or maybe soon? I knew that the little tooth image in this set would be perfect for a "tooth keeper" envelope album. It was fairly simple to make--I die cut the envelopes and put them together; stamped the image on the pocket for the tooth and journaling card; paper pieced a decoration for the front and cut some banners (to write the date when tooth fell out or was pulled out). Easy! I punched some holes and put them on a binder ring. Double EASY! OHHH! I just thought about how the pocket could hold the tooth and maybe a picture of the happy kid without a tooth! If the pocket is too small--it could be put in the envelope! FUN! LOVE LOVE LOVE!
The date when the tooth fell out (or was pulled out) goes on the banner.

 I only decorated a couple of the envelopes--I put all the pieces inside each envelope so that the family can decorate it/journal/etc. together.
 Just a closer view of the pieces.

I also wanted to make something different with the gum ball machine. I thought it would be fun to make some candy decorations....so I wrapped some paper around a candy bar, added some hand-dyed seam binding, paper pieced the gum ball machine, and added a sentiment. Triple EASY! I love how the gum balls are holiday colors! FUN!
I apologize for the horrible pic--that paper from SEI is metallic and super hard to photograph-but SUPER pretty!

That's it for me today--be sure to stop by the Sweet Stamp Shop blog for more info on this card and to see what the owner of SSSNicole, has been up to! And if you have some extra time, please stop by our YouTube channel (I added a crafty tip video last week), our FB page, follow us on Twitter  and link up any creations you have made using SSS images on Flickr

Thanks so much for stopping by! Be blessed:)

Three for one:)

Hello, friends:)

Today is FWF over on the Unity blog!! Make sure you stop by HERE and blog hop on all the participants' blogs!! You could win some free Unity stamps!

I created a super fun card--it's for our child in India, John WP!!! His birthday is next week. I also made this card for the CARDS challenge {fox} and The Paper Players challenge {animal/plant}. I love these papers by Crate Paper: Toy Box collection. My fav part is that alphabet card that I made with the fox! ACK! That pattered paper is perfect for it!  I also tried to be deliberate when making the strips of paper crooked--but I think I need to be more deliberate--it just looks like I made a huge mistake! I promise they are supposed to be crooked:)
That's it for me today! THANKS so much for stopping by! Be blessed:}

PDCC #100

Hello, friends:}

Hoooooray for another fun day over at the Play Date Cafe! Today starts a brand new color story-pastels! And we have a new sponsor--Lawn Fawn!!
This new color story made me think of fall and Thanksgiving. I received Blissful Botanicals from Lawn Fawn {THANK YOU!}, and the sentiment was perfect for my card sketch/idea! I created a fairly CAS card with just patterned paper to match the two orange hues, and then I paper pieced the leaves together with some white flowers and gems. I added the sentiment in the circle with a glittered butterfly. Easy!  I used more oranges than green because I wanted just a hint for the leaves.
That's it for me....but be sure to stop by the PDCC blog for complete details and prize information! The PDCC sponsor this week is Lawn Fawn. And don't forget to stop by all the other PDCC DT members' blogs-- AMAZING!!!
