PDCC #154 3rd Anniversary

Hello, friends:}

Today I am sharing a project with you as an Alumni Guest over at The Play Date Cafe Color Challenge.  They are celebrating their 3rd Anniversary with a BIG celebration!  The PDCC has always been a unique challenge for two reasons: 

1. They encourage you as a player to 'interpret the colors' as YOU see them
2. They welcome pretty much ANY type of project from cards to layouts, knit, crochet & sewing, mixed-media and even cupcakes! **For my project this week--I almost did MAKEUP! LOL! 

From Oct 18-22, you can enjoy inspiration from other returning design team members as well as their current team, prizes from a variety of sponsors and additional giveaways for becoming a follower of the challenge and for displaying their brand new badges!

I hope you will join me in congratulating The Play Date Cafe by playing along and sharing your support by saying hello when you pay a visit.  It's going to be an exciting celebration!

OK--so the colors this week are flame, grape, and mulberry. I used several different purple ink pads, along with a red/orange ink for my colors. These inks {available HERE from the RC} were the perfect match!! I also used 10 Paper Smooches stamps {All Yule Need, Yummers, Surf & Turf, Daisies & Paisleys, Good Gab, Chit Chat, FOLKal Points, Word Salad, Simply Said, and Friendly Flowers}!!! I added some light purple gems and some grape wine vintage seam binding {available HERE from the RC} as accents. The polka dots were stamped individually and I thought the heart was a sweet accent! LOOOOOOOOVE how this turned out! 

You can see the light purple gems on the flowers in this pic. So cute:)

PDCC #142

Hello, friends:} 

We are starting another color story today over on the  Play Date Cafe blog! This week's colors are: Cobalt, Goldenrod, Peony. 

My card is very CAS--layering scrap Echo Park papers with a white Basic Grey rub-on. It's fun to make something simple and that could be used for anyone!

PDCC #141

Hello, friends:} 

We are starting another color story today over on the  Play Date Cafe blog! This week's colors-- Mint, Soft Yellow, Coral, Tulip. Our sponsor this week is DRS Designs.  

I have to admit that I wasn't sure about this color story--pastels! They get me every time! LOL! But now I need to admit that I absolutely LOOOOOOOOOOVE my card! I created a baby card using my DRS Designs giraffe stamp along with some My Mind's Eye Nostalgia papers {available HERE at the RC}. I also added some burlap twine {also available at the RC}. If you look closely, I used the natural burlap twine to make the giraffe's mane. SOOOOO cute! The letter M is an alpha from Basic Grey that I colored with my Copics. **This card is for a friend who just found out they are expecting a baby! So I used their last initial M as an embellie. LOVE:) 

The larger gem is actually a light green color--but this photo makes it look really dark.

And now the gem brad looks silver! LOL!

Hello, friends:}

I used some of my coral metallic paper for the nude along with a NEW Momenta metal embellishment (silver). I tied a double bow using some gold thread. EASY! 

Due to the lighting/metal, the pictures don't show the metal that well, but it is SILVER!!

PDCC #138

Hello, friends:} 

We are starting another color story today over on the  Play Date Cafe blog! This week's colors are: cotton candy, ruby, citrus, dusk. 

This has been another crazy week for me, so I couldn't seem to get my colors to match/etc. I ended up using some papers from two pads that I got from StopandScrap. I also used my Cricut to create a fun summer popsicle shape. I used some ruby glitter and colored some white Basic Grey alphas to match the dusk. **The background of the popsicles looks like it matches the dusk better than my letters--OY! I also added some cherry divine twine {Whisker Graphics}.

PDCC #137

Hello, friends:} 

We are starting another color story today over on the  Play Date Cafe blog! This week's color story is a player favorite- a COLOR SPLASH! Our sponsor this week is Want2Scrap.   

I was lucky enough to get some beautiful blue gems, as well as black and white pearls, from Want2Scrap  And with all the magazine publication calls for winter/holiday themes, I thought I would make something using  Paper Smooches Swanky Snowdude stamps. I love that I was able to create a holiday card in the middle of JUNE! **NOTE:: Lately, I come up with the cutest cards for magazine calls...but I'm always late! The publication dates have passed! LOL! And, I LOOOOOOOOOOVE that black and white cardstock. It's Bazzill cardstocks {available HERE at the RC}. It was so easy to get a great impression while stamping! LOVE this card {x10!}!!!

If you look closely, you can see that I embossed the snowman's hat. And you can see the black pearls (snowman's buttons) and the white pearl on the bird's hat.

I will admit that I struggle with blues and purples---so this challenge was super hard for me! But I pulled out some of my Basic Grey Plumeria papers, and I think they match this color story! I created a baby card using some of my new Paper Smooches {Pip Squeaks} stamps. LOVE that little stork! I added a bit of glitter (on the baby blanket) and brads for extra fun.

We are starting another color story today over on the  Play Date Cafe blog! This week's colors are aquamarine, poolside, clay. Our sponsor this week is The Craft's Meow. 

I pulled out my new Basic Grey What's Up papers {available HERE from the RC} for this color story! They matched perfectly! Well....not the darker blue! I had to add that in using sequins:) I used stamps from The Girls' Paperie. This card is for Trav because last week we were on vaca but couldn't go anywhere because our passports (we never sent them in!). We booked a cruise for the end of August! I can't wait to slip this in his suitcase! 

Sorry for the glare on the sequins!
