Ribbon Carousel and Helmar Blog Hop--GIVEAWAY

Hello, friends:}

**GIVEAWAY details below!!!
Today the Ribbon Carousel Crewmates are teaming up with the designers from Helmar today to bring you a blog hop jamed pack with crafty goodness!   We carry many Helmar products in the Ribbon Carousel Shop.  They are our go-to-company for adhesives!

Helmar USA Inc began in late 2009 initially setup to distribute Helmar branded product manufactured by Helmar Australia and to better service and expand our existing US customer base. It was located in San Diego, California. Whilst the business grew steadily and slowly it wasn't the ideal location for our business to continue to grow.
2012 has seen some major changes already this year for Helmar USA Inc. and those positive changes will continue. In the interests of moving forward and enabling the business to grow from strength to strength, relocation and a change in ownership became inevitable.
In June 2012 Helmar USA Inc. was relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina. Now with a much larger warehouse to allow for future expansion and also located close to major transport links, supply to our customers and business growth will be much more efficient.
Another major postive change we have made is to expand our design team. Headed by Erika Taylor the changes implemented so far have been refreshing and inspiring. The range of product education & projects available through various media is outstanding. We truly have very talented group of designers and are so excited to be working with some of the best companies as preferred partners, in the industry.

I created a super easy hair piece/accessory using some beautiful Grape Wine vintage seam binding {available HERE from the RC} and two different Helmar glues {450 Quick Dry Adhesive and Gemstone Glue--also available HERE from the RC}. Here's a short project tutorial **literally--this hair piece took five minutes to make!
**Variations of this project-- you could create several of these using your school colors or make these for a cheerleading squad/fans; you could use this hair piece as an award for a student/child--just add a sentiment/congrats on a banner and place in the center of the star.

Another version of this hair piece is to make a headband/ribbon band. I repeated the above steps for several stars and attached them to a ribbon that was about a yard in length. Then I tied it around my head! Here's a picture of this hair piece:) THANKS, Trav, for taking photos for me!!!
 I wasn't smiling in either pic! LOL! Oh well:)
Here's a photo that I uploaded to FB/Instagram-- it's been a fan favorite:)

Now, lets talk prizesHop along with us today and leave some blog love for our Ribbon Carousel Crewmates and the Helmar designers to be eligible to won one of the 2 prizes up for grabs!

  1. The Helmar prise [picture to the right] is a complete pack of Zapdots (12 packs) including clear, black and white in circles and squares in both,the large and small sizes!
  2. The other prize up for grabs is a $20 gift certificate to the Ribbon Carousel Store!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Be blessed and GOOOOOD luck on this giveaway! :}

ps...I shared this photo with my RCC DT the other day, and Corinna said I should share it with you! The story: I was trying to use my new Helmar glue and just squeezed really hard when nothing would come out. I didn't realize that there was a seal on the bottle!!! As I opened it, glue almost got on my computer and keyboard. I thought that I had cleaned it all up, but when I ran my fingers through my hair....there was glue in my hair! You can't really see it in this pic--but the glob was large enough to have cut out. Now I know to check for seals on all bottles:}

RCC62 challenge

Hello, friends:}

In case you missed my ribbon necklace tutorial yesterday on the Ribbon Carousel blog, click HERE

There's a new weekly challenge that starts today over on the Ribbon Carousel blog!!! This week Danielle Lounds challenges us with a color story
My card design was inspired by the current iSpy challenge. I did change the sketch a bit--LOL! I pulled out several items from the Ribbon Carousel shop for my card, including October Afternoon's Sidewalks paper and Cherry divine twine. I also used some of my new Bazzill cardstock {available HERE from the RC} for the hearts. I used several stamps from Paper Smooches {Chit Chat, FOLKal Points, Hang Ups, and He Said, She Said}. LOVE it! It's simple and fun! I'm also entering this in the Stamp It! Cards Love Card Challenge in the Moxie Fab World because everything has been stamped [well, not the text! That's paper:)].
I used glossy accents and a glaze pen to help the hearts and sentiment pop.

The RCC team would love for you to join in the fun this week! Here are the details:
  • Make your NEW creation following the ribbon carousel challenge (sketch, inspiration, style or color) image. Be sure to include some type of ribbon, twine, hemp, lace....basically, anything that comes on a spool.
  • Your creation can be ANYTHING from cards, quilts, sewn items, paper crafts, paintings! ***Be sure to have ribbon, bakers twine, jute twine, lace, thread (basically anything that comes on a spool) on your creation! And be sure to follow the RCC challenge theme!
  • Load your creation up onto your blog or a public viewing forum like SplitcoastStampers, (use the keyword RCC62) with a direct link back to The RCC blog post. Including the challenge graphic isn't a requirement, but sure is appreciated! A participant of our very first challenge didn't link back or mention our challenge and couldn't be named Top Spool, so don't let that happen to you!
  • Come back to The RCC blog post and link in your creation using the Inlinkz button at the bottom of this post. Your image may take a little while to pop up but don't worry it will appear shortly.
  • Be sure to come back the Friday after the challenge ends to see if YOU are a Top Spool! :D
This challenge will end on July 23rd at 11:59pm EST.

Please head over toRibbon Carousel shop and check out their products!!! I just made a HUGE order because I loooooooove my ribbons and papers:)

Sweet Stamp Shop NEW Release blog hop {post2}

Hello, friends:}

**Please click HERE or scroll up/down for my FIRST StopandScrap post.

I'm sharing a creation for the Sweet Stamp Shop blog today--today starts the May NEW release hop! You are going to LOVE what the SSS DT has created!
If you came from Kelley's blog, you are in the right place-- if you would like to start from the beginning of the hop, please click HERE or go to the SSS blog.

The stamp set I'm sharing today is called School's Out! How perfect is that--I used to teach...and I loved when the school year ended! Of course I was sad....but I was so excited for the SUMMER!!! So in honor of all my friends that are teachers....I created a card about the TEACHERS FIELD TRIP (which only happens when school's out!).
I masked several of the SSS stamps to get the correct sentiments (and even asked Susan O. and friends for help on how to spell this sentiment!). I love when stamps work well together! I used some old October Afternoon papers and some of my fav vintage seam binding {available HERE from the Ribbon Carousel}. LOOOOOOOOOVE this card!
That's it for me today--don't forget to stop by all the other SSS DT members' blogs.  Next up--hop on over to Nicole's blog for some more SSS craftiness!
