Chickaniddy Crafts: Pinspiration Recap

Hello, friends:)
 photo picasioncom_8146e2e38e727ecc241fe5a27ac0c266.gif

Earlier this week, I was on the Chickaniddy blog--- check it out HERE:) I've been inspired by the Chickaniddy Pinterest July 2014 Mood board!

I was inspired by the first picture with the squares and doodle lines. It instantly reminded me of stitching and so I got out my sewing machine!

I used a couple of
Chickaniddy patterned papers from the Date Night collection for my base and center design. I also added some banner flag ends to the sentiment using some yellow striped papers in the Twirly Girly collection. I LOOOOOOOVE those brads and how everything ties together, as well as matches the Pinterest photo!

This card was super easy to create!

  1. Cut 1 1/4" squares from patterned paper and adhere to card base.
  2. Stitch around squares and card base (twice if needed).
  3. Add brads to left corner.
  4. Create sentiment using stickers and patterned paper.
EASY!
Chickaniddy Supplies: Paper Downtown (DN14OS03), Love Letters (DN14OS04), Cutest Couple (DN14OS05), Piggy Tails (TG14OS12); Stickers Date Night (DN14EB01); Brads Date Night (DN14EB06)
I hope that you will check out the Chickaniddy Pinterest boards and get inspired!

Chickaniddy Crafts: Mix & Match (VIDEO) post2

Hello, friends:)

***Please click HERE for my Reverse Confetti May color challenge video and post:)
 photo picasioncom_8146e2e38e727ecc241fe5a27ac0c266.gif

I've created a special video for you today:)

I'm sharing how I mix and match patterned papers and embellishments from the Chickaniddy Twirly Girly and Date Night collections!
Here's the video (****be sure to change your settings to HD before watching):
I love this card! One of my favorite things to do is mix and match collections! If you would like to try this technique, here are some tips:
  •  Get out all of your papers and embellishments from the collections, or look in a catalog or find these pieces online. This will help you get a feel for what you can use on your card, and it could help you find more products that you want to order:)
  • When mixing and matching patterned papers, use only ONE patterned paper as the focus/main design. This main patterned paper should have a busy design or larger image. It should be bold.
  • All of the other pieces of paper will be supporting this main patterned paper. Supporting patterned papers should be softer/muted colors, smaller designs (polka dots, stripes, solid colors).
I really think this  card is perfect for anyone! My favorite pieces of this card include the alpha stickers... and the way the two sentiment stickers match the coordinating papers/embellishments on the top/bottom (perfect placement!!).... and I love that sentiment with the Dance School patterned paper! I love everything about this card:)
Chickaniddy Supplies: Paper Dance School (DN140S02), Plaid Is Rad (DN140S12), Tea Party (TW140S03), Piggy Tails (TG140S12); Stickers Date Night (DN14EB05, DN14EB02, TG14EB05), Alpha Stickers (DN14EB01, TG14EB01), Enamel Hearts (TG14EB07); Brads Date Night (DN14EB06)

I hope that you try mixing and matching your Chickaniddy papers/embellishments for your next project!

Chickaniddy: Hello Spring card

Hello, friends:)
 photo picasioncom_8146e2e38e727ecc241fe5a27ac0c266.gif

Today I'm sharing a Chickaniddy project using the new Twirly Girly collection. These papers, embellishments, and stickers are perfect for Spring and just about any girly-girl! LOVE

I created a very simple Spring card basing my entire design around a tag that I found in the 6x6 Twirly Girly paper pad. I knew that I wanted to layer a couple of banners/tags together. I also knew I wanted to use these super cute pink polka dot alpha stickers for part of the sentiment!

I added a butterfly clip and hemp cord to add a bit of extra flair to the tags! I added glossy accents to the Chickaniddy alpha stickers to finish my card. I LOVE the simplicity but details on this card! LOVE!

Chickaniddy Supplies: Paper Piggy Tails (TG140S12), This & That (TG140S07), 6x6 paper pad (TG14PD01); Stamps Date Night (DN14ST01); Stickers Twirly Girl (TG14EB01); Reverse Confetti die: Tag Me; Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko: VeraMark ink, Gold embossing powder

I really love using alpha stickers on my cards and creations. To make it easier to apply these letters in a straight line, I just add them using a ruler and tweezers.

1. Create card base using polka dot paper.
2. Die cut banner using yellow diagonal paper.
3. Cut out tag and punch a hole.
4. Add alpha stickers (using a ruler and tweezers).
5. Stamp and emboss sentiment.
6. Add banner and tag to card using foam dots.
7. Finish card by adding hemp cord, butterfly clip, and glossy accents to alpha stickers.
I hope that you will use the new Twirly Girly Chickaniddy  alpha stickers on your next project!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Happy SPRING!!!!!!! Be blessed:)

Today I'm sharing a Chickaniddy project inspired by a picture on the Chickaniddy Pinterest board, plus using the fabulous Date Night collection! This project is for a post called Pinspration

I have to admit that there were lots of photos and pins on the
Chickaniddy board that I was inspired by-- so many fabulous colors, designs, and ideas! I ended up using this photo as my inspiration. I really like the lace and solid color, as well as the diagonal design.
I ended up flipping my design so the diagonal was in the lower left corner, and I made the solid the smaller piece for my card.
Chickaniddy Supplies: Paper Plaid is Rad (DN140S12), Together Is Better (DN140S09), Downtown (DN140S03), polka dot from the bottom of Spiffy Tags (DN140S07); Stamps Date Night (DN14ST01); Stickers Date Night (DN14EB05); Brads Date Night (DN14EB06)

I really love how this card turned out-- my favorite part about this card would be the cluster of stickers, brads, embellishments, and the "masked" sentiment! I really enjoy masking my stamps to create my very own custom sentiment! LOVE!!!

I hope that you will check out the Chickaniddy Pinterest board and get inspired!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Be blessed:)

Chickaniddy- Date Night card

Hello, friends:)
 photo picasioncom_8146e2e38e727ecc241fe5a27ac0c266.gif
I'm sooooooo thrilled to share my first Chickaniddy project with you today! I'm a huge fan of the Date Night collection! I loooooove the patterned papers, the colors, the little enamel hearts... and I LOVE the silver foil paper! SWOON:)

As I looked through my Date Night papers and embellishments, I found a journal tag that had a guitar on it. I knew instantly that I wanted to create a card for my husband using this tag- it's perfect since we are musicians! This card came together quickly after I found my inspiration.

Chickaniddy Supplies: Paper Awesome Blossom (DN140S01), Cutest Couple (DN140S05); Journal Tag Cutest Couple (DN140S05); Stamps Date Night (DN14ST01); Stickers Date Night (DN14EB05); Brads Date Night (DN14EB06); Enamel Hearts Date Night (DN14EB07)

I really enjoy mixing patterns and papers, and one of my favorite techniques for stamping includes "masking". I used this technique to make this horizontal sentiment into a vertical design! I love how this turned out!

1. Cut patterned papers and attach to card base.
2. Cut (fussy cut) journal card and attach to card.
3. Mask sentiment using blue painters tape/washi tape. Stamp each word individually and vertically next to journaling card.
4. Add stickers, banner, brads, and enamel hearts.
5. Complete card with a couple of mini staples.
This was a simple yet detailed card-- perfect for my husband! I love this new collection from Chickaniddy! I'm looking forward to sharing more creations using the Date Night collection!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Be blessed:)
