Paper Smooches SPARKS Oct. Cool Shades challenge

Hello, friends:}

Today we start another weekly challenge over at Paper Smooches SPARKS blog!! The third week of the month is always a Cool Shades challenge.  

This week we are inspired by the following color story "Autumn":

Teal, Light Purple, Kraft, Orange

From the beginning (ever since I saw this color story), I've wanted to make something "Aztec" like... I don't know why... these colors just make me think of those fun designs/etc. So I tried and tried to make something using the Paper Smooches Borderlicious stamp set. Nothing was working. So I called in for backup- TRAV:) 

He told me how to make something kind of like an Aztec design. So I went with it. I think it looks ok- but don't go saying this is 100% Aztec! I know it's not (far from it).... I'll continue to work on some designs and maybe make something better in the future:) 

You can't really tell those feathers are gold-- but they are:)

To finish my card I added a bunch of thread and some embossed PS feathers (digital) that were dipped in gold paint. And then I added a sentiment from the PS Spiritual Sampler set. **NOTE: some of you might have seen my Facebook status about needing prayer. Trav and I are doing fine- but Satan has really attacked us lately. I've stepped away from something I love and have a huge passion for.... this decision has been weighing on me and is very difficult. I've cried about it for 20 days straight. This sentiment from the PS Spiritual Sampler set is hitting home for me right now. I NEED to allow God and FAITH to be my guide. I don't see an end... and I'm worried I will never have this passion again. I do appreciate your prayers- THANK YOU! I will keep you posted about the progress of this situation.

Paper Smooches SPARKS April Trend Watch challenge {post1}

Today we start another weekly challenge over at Paper Smooches SPARKS blog!! The first week of the month is always a TRENDS WATCH challenge. 

This week we are inspired by the following photo:

There are SOOOO many Paper Smooches butterfly images and now dies-- that this challenge was super easy for me! I actually have three other cards that I want to share hopefully later this week:)

For my this card, I used the PS Butterflies2 dies along with a sentiment from the PS Spiritual Sampler set. LOVE these papers by KaiserCraft {Flora Delight}-- there are foiled and embossed papers! GORGEOUS:) I also love love love that glittered frame with the butterflies flying out of it!!  I think this card is a bit out of my comfort zone-- kind of shabby chic... or vintage but not vintage...either way, I think I nailed it:)
