Moxie Fab....quick card

Hello, friends:}

I found the color that matches exactly for Candice's wedding. So I had to make a card--and because she found her dress! HOOOORAY:) It is beautiful--I can't wait to see it in person! She is going to look amazing! The color of her wedding will be a plum/eggplant/purple....it reminded me of the Moxie Fab challenge.

I scored the lines, stamped the dress (Unity, Sept. KOTM), and added metallic flowers. I am really getting good at these CAS cards:}

I hope you are doing well. Thanks for stopping by--I love our visits!
Until next time~

I'm on the mend....and made this card for two challenges last night.

I am hoping to have more to share later....I know tomorrow I will be sharing one of my FAVORITE cards that I created for Trav!!! LOVE IT! I will participating in the UNITY FWF!! HOORAY for Friday!!

Thanks so much for visiting--again, just to be sure, wash your hands! I don't want any one else to get sick!
Until next time~

Raspberry Suite Challenge #21...and JUGS15 challenge

Hello, friends:}

I'm so excited to share this card with you! I have been thinking about entering a Raspberry Suite Challenge by Dawn McVey....just never had the chance until TODAY!!! I love love love Dawn! She is amazing--so creative and just started making videos! Check her blog out!

Her challenge was to use light aqua, soft yellow, brown, and cream. Unfortunately, I don't own any PTI papers or supplies...but I used what I had on hand. I had a sketch for this that I made about a week ago...thought about the colors...and then changed it all! I love the finished card. Someone in my family will be receiving this card for their bday soon:}
What do you think?

**NOTE:: This is also for the JUGS15 challenge. We were to use stitching--my favorite!

Remember....sign up to follow me and I will have a giveaway! I love to give things away...so hopefully I can make it to 25 followers SOON!

Thanks so much for visiting today--and THANK YOU for all your comments! They really do make me smile:} Continue to wash your hands, I'm still not better or "germ free"!
Until next time~

two challenges into one card **NOTE: H{ippity} Hop post below!!!

Hello, friends:}

I made this card for the Moxie Fab color challenge and the Sketchy Thursdays 2nd Chance challenge. This card was created for my sister-in-law, Candice. Her colors for the wedding are eggplant. I thought that the purple would match close enough!! The stamps I used are from Unity's Love Bug set. I also used my cricut- George and Basic Shapes, Dootdletype, and Opposite Attract. I think I should have stamped some distressed image on the purple...but I'm happy with the turnout:} I hope Candice is! **NOTE:: I just bought more lighting for my photo area...not happy with the turnout of that! HELP!

Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to check out my H{ippity} Hop post below!

H{ippity} Ippity Hop...the story of CHICKENS...and GOOD NEWS

Hello, friends:}

Today is a great day (even though I am sick)...it's Monday which means there's a H{ippity} Hop! I was working hard last week at creating a couple of cards for the Ippity challenge. We were to use buttons on our cards! HOORAY!! I love using buttons!

My first card was created for a dear friend. She recently lost her husband, and I thought this card was perfect for her. I love the watermark stamp below. I used Unity's August KOTM and Ippity's Just Wanted to Say set for the sentiment. I love the colors of this card! **NOTE:: This card is featured today on the Limelight Papercrafts blog!!! HOORAY!

For my second card...I couldn't resist--chickens and I go way back! THE STORY: Growing up, I lived on a 5 acre farm where we had cows, pigs, goats, sheep, geese, cats, dogs, and of course, chickens. We (mostly my brother Carrel and parents) raised them for fresh eggs and meat. Now I know that this sounds weird...but I loved when we would get to kill the chickens. It was an all day event. I would go into the details--but that is kind of gross. I didn't necessarily like to kill them...I liked to pull out the feathers. Plus, I think I got really good at slicing up the meat. So chickens and I are friends...kind of. I also remember taking them to the 4H fair! OH the fun! Carrel would raise them, and he let me take two to the fair with eggs. Holding chickens to be judged was NOT fun! Well....skip ahead about ten years....while I was dating Trav, I would regularly talk to his grandparents. While talking to them, I would ask, "What's up?" And one of them (not sure which...but I think Poppie) would say, "Chicken Butt." So it grew into a nickname for Poppie.  And now for any holiday or birthday...I try to get him ANYTHING with chickens. I also make him chickens in a jar for Christmas. I put a chicken (that I made or a TY baby) in a jar with either fake snow or sand and dress it up. So when I had to use buttons....I HAD to use the Ippity set Simply Home and put fake eggs below the chicken. This was actually Poppie's 2nd Christmas card this year. **NOTE:: The second pic is what a normal gift for Poppie might look like. Not the story you thought it would be....but like I said...chickens and I go way back!

Some of you might remember this card--I made it about three months ago. Several people have commented that they didn't know I used buttons on this card--they are miniature white buttons. I LOVE it! I used MME DP and the Simply Home Ippity set. I wanted to use buttons on the sheep....but they didn't look right. So I stamped on top of them with embossing ink and then tied white thread to make it look like wool. TOO cute! Here is a close up of the buttons.
GOOD NEWS~ remember this card:

It was featured over on Ippity's blog yesterday!! Kelly Landers featured it for her Sunday Favs! ACK! TOO cool. Kelly is sooooo creative! THANK YOU, KELLY! You rock:}

Be sure to go to the Ippity blog to check out the other awesome creations for the H{ippity} Hop! And don't forget to leave some love for all of the gals!

That reminds me...I'm having a blog candy giveaway in Feburary...but I would like to give something else out before that. So....if I get to 25 followers (on this blog- not including my last blog)....then I will do a drawing. Be sure to sign up to follow! The sooner the better--and then more giveaways as my follower list grows!

Well..that is it for me today. I am hoping to share more this week of my Unity and Ippity creations...I've got a whole sketch book full of cards that I want to make!!

Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to wash your hands because I don't want to spread my germs! Hope you have a great day!
Until next time~

Embellish Mag. Challenge (2 cards)

Hello, friends:}

I was creating again this week for another challenge! I love love love the challenges over at Embellish Magazine. You have to check it out--they have asked us to use only red, black, and pink with hearts for a valentine day card. I had to think about this....I know those are traditional colors...but I wanted to use a mixture of stamps that I had. I have used a lot of my UNITY stamps, and I wanted to throw in some others.  That kind of happened (I guess you know which stamps I love the most!!! UNITY!).

My first card was a bit difficult for me to create- I am normally a "straight" kind of girl. Turning images to the side and making it crooked....freaks me out! But I LOVE how this turned out! I used MME papers, dark pink ribbon, Red Distressed Ink, and Ippity stamps. I love how sweet it is:}

My second card was hard to create too--I wanted to make a crazy quilted top with paper. This was not hard- I just made it hard with my "perfectionism" (as Jessica Witty would say). I love the jar stamp- this is from Inkadinkado. The words are from Ippity...and my cricut cut the 4U. I also used gelly roll pens to pop the words that I printed out on my computer. LOVE it!

Well...I'm off to make more projects. I have a list of things I have to do--and I need to get better by tomorrow! I'm still sick:{ So please send up prayers that I get better for singing tomorrow! THANK YOU!

Always a pleasure visiting with you! Thanks so much for stopping by!
Until next time~

hoooooray for FWF!!!! Lots lots lots to share...

Hello, friends! And friends with FLAIR:}

I'm sooooooo excited for Fridays! LOVE them! It's Friday with Flair over at Unity!! I've got some special cards to share with you using my favorite stamps by Unity. I LOVE  Unity!

This has got to be one of my favorite cards. I made it last month but never posted it. I LOVE IT! I love the colors....the lace (created using the Martha Stewart border punch)--which by the way, when I look at the bottom of this card, it makes me think of a dress! A pretty teal with black lace over....so pretty! I used regular blue, teal, black, and white papers from my scraps. The stamps were from the August KOTM. I also LOVE the way I stamped the flower--and the colors match perfectly! AH! I just LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this card!

My second card was created for the CARDS blog challenge by Paige. We were to use snowflakes on our cards. I used a DP from DCWC stacks. I LOVE the ribbon on the side. The tag was stamped from the Unity Confession set. I also LOVE the sentiment- so appropriate right now...and I LIVE IN FLORIDA! It has been really really cold out lately (32* yesterday! YIKES!). It is causing a bit of a problem with my throat/lungs...praying that I get better for Sunday's worship! Back to the card...I thought something was missing, so I made another one with a bit of leftover (from last year--I told you...hoarder) snowflake buttons and large sequence for embellishments. I LOVE the finished card! The snowflakes just made it better:}

Here is a close-up of the snowflakes. LOVE it!

Another project I made this week...two journals. The butterflies are from the Bevy of Butterflies set by Unity. These journals were requested by our friends, Catherine and Daniel Am. They are using them to help them memorize bible verses! SOOOO excited for them to use these:}
**NOTE:: I can't wait to get a Zutter Bind It All...that will help with my sides of the journal. Right now, I have to use up old journals that I bought and modify them...so a bit of tan still shows...eh.

Let's see....I think that is about it for cards...here is a pic of Olsen the day we got back from vacation. Mind you--he is 65 lbs. and a Catahoula Leopard. Not a lap dog. He loves to get into my lap! Why? Not sure! It makes it very hard to work--but a good laugh:}

Don't forget to stop by all the other ladies who participated in FWF!! Click here to see the whole list! Great stuff out there! Don't forget to leave some LOVE!!!

Etsy Inspired Challenge 69

Hello again, friends:}

I couldn't resist....EtsyInspired is having another great challenge featuring Manic Muffin. This shop has the cutest little pillows:) I had to use the owls from the shop title for my inspiration...who doesn't like owls? **NOTE:: I used to say I would NEVER use a bird or owl on my projects. I wanted to be different- not like the popular thing...but now I LOVE LOVE LOVE them! Maybe I should make this my NYR: Stop saying NEVER!

The three owls are from UNITY's 6 pack essentials set. I used regular paper for everything- Die Cuts with a View. My cricut cut the letters...simple card--love it! Ok...the hardest thing on this card was coloring in the owls--I started to use gelly roll pens...but that was too bright. So as they were drying...I wiped them off with a baby wipe. That is why there are some bolder colors/outlines. Then I filled it in with watercolor pencils. I still like it--kind of different.

Not much more going on...still trying to catch up. I am hoping to have more cards to share this weekend. I know tomorrow I will be participating in the UNITY  Blog Hop- Friday's with Flair! So come back tomorrow for lots of pics!!

Love sharing with you and visiting! Thanks so much for everything:}
Until next time~

EBTKS challenge card

Hello, friends:}

Last night was a crazy night for crafting---I made two journals and four cards! WOW!! Love it!

These cards were created for the Everything But The Kitchen Sink challenge.  We were supposed to use wrapping paper. I have lots and lots of Martha Stewart wrapping paper--pink, blue, aqua, multicolored, flocked, squares, circles, etc. LOTS! I knew exactly which ones I wanted to use.

This first card was created with a mother in mind...I'm not going to say which mother because she reads this blog often (and now she will know what her Mother's Day card looks like!). I used a tree stamp from the Growing with Unity set by UNITY to make the "mom" stand out a bit. The tag (is that what you call it?) was cut from the Cricut, and I used 3D foam to make it stand out. I love it--I love how pretty and elegant it is:}

This second card was made a long time ago....I love this paper--anything with GREEN! However, I couldn't see the "thank you" enough...so I was a bit disappointed. I still like it...but next time, I might use a white or black or silver....eh. The wrapping paper is, again, from Martha Stewart! The sentiment was cut with the Cricut...and I added little silver gem stones for embellishments.

I have a couple more cards that I would like to make tomorrow....THANK YOU so much for visiting! Love it when you stop by! Love it more when you leave comments:}

Until next time~

Sav

Taylored Expression 96 card

Hello, friends:}

I got another card done for the Taylored Expression challenge. I am kind of surprised at how the card turned out....I am liking these CAS cards!

I used some stamps from the Unity October and December KOTM. I love love love Unity

I think I might have to send this card to a friend who needs a bit of cheering up! Too cute:)

Well...Trav should be coming home from work in about ten minutes--so I better get dinner ready! Thanks so much for stopping by and visiting:} I LOVE our visits!

Until next time~

JUGS14 card

Hello, friends:}

I'm back to creating cards for challenges! HOOORAY!! This card is for the Just Us Girls challenge
I was kind of stumped when looking at the sketch...but then I knew exactly what I wanted to do.

My card for this challenge is for Candice~ my sister-in-law. **NOTE:: I hope Candice isn't reading this! She is getting married in November this year!! When a family or friend sets a date for a wedding...I make a card for each month to celebrate love and their lives together. I try to make each card reflect their style or where they are getting married...or things like that. Well, Candice and Allen are going to LAS VEGAS!!! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOT! I can't wait!

For my card, I used an old map of the Vegas strip....some miniature playing cards...and a sticker that I originally bought for one of her bridal gifts (for her scrapbook). I also used the crossword stamp from Unity's November 09 KOTM. Love  Unity

**NOTE:: if anyone can think of other words to put in the crossword puzzle (that have to do with weddings or love or Las Vegas) ....leave a comment!
**NOTE:: Read the first comment--my brother Leander already gave me a word for the puzzle...but it didn't really fit the whole "love theme". Thanks, LEO:}

Well...back to the drawing pad...or is it square one that I need to start at? I am so disorganized and behind...I don't know what to do with myself! If anyone has any suggestions on how to get back to "normal" or organized...please let me know!!

Thanks so much for visiting...more to come later:}
Until next time~

several pics from Indiana...and a couple of funny stories

Hello friends:}

As promised from yesterday's post....here are some pics of my trip to Indiana to see my family.

I was greeted by my two brothers (L-R: Leander, Carrel) when I got home. Funny story #1: I have always given them some silly small gift for Christmas...but last year, the squirmles was a HIT! I couldn't stop laughing all week! They would try to see who could make their squirmles do the BEST trick...FUNNY! So this year...I decided to get another gift just like this from the same company. I ended up getting them the hairy pop balls (not sure on the correct name- I will contact them today and see if they can give it to me!). They just pop when you throw them down. The competition started the night I went home- in this pic, Leander and Carrel are ready to throw their hairy pop ball down to see which one will pop higher. **NOTE: Neither one popped very much--it was soooo funny!

This pic is of Leander's Music Studio. He gives lessons for several different instruments. His studio is in Mom/Dad's storage units, Hoover Storage. The second pic is what it looks like on the back side of the units. They have about 12 units and the studio in the front. It was really nice! And guess who built it? Carrel!! He owns Hoover Construction! I was impressed by the work--the units--and the studio! Awesome stuff:}

Since I'm mentioning all the family owned businesses....I might as well tell you about ours! Funny story #2: Trav is a great guy! When we first met, I was moving from an apt. to a house on the river. He volunteered to move my stuff. Then a couple of weeks later...I found out that I had to move my classroom to another school. He helped me move all of my school stuff to my new house. Then my portable at the school came....moving me again. When the year ended, I was lucky enough to get a "real" classroom, and Trav helped me move again. I moved from my house to another apt. before we got married....then two more classroom moves...and Trav was starting to call himself "HOOVER MOVERS". **NOTE:: Hoover was my maiden name. Trav even made T-shirts that had a logo and the business name! Since we have been married...Trav has moved my classroom again, my stuff into our house, to a NEW house, a couple of friends needed help moving....and every time we go to Indiana...Leander has something to move! This pic is of Trav and Leander moving something in Leander's garage to the basement....Hoover Movers never rests! HA! Funny thing is...Trav even brought his T-shirt on our trip...I wonder if he was wearing it in this pic!

First pic: L-R: Grandma Hoover, me, Lenora (my mom)
Second pic: me, Granny
I love my scoodies that I make...and I gave my entire family some for Christmas. My mom ordered some for Grandma and Granny too. So....I had to get some pics of us using our scoodies;} LOVE IT! **NOTE: They were very helpful up there--it was below zero!!!

Trav has lived in Florida his entire life (minus 6 years in GA for college). So snow is always fun for him. This was his first snowman. TOOO cute! He made it when we were visiting my Uncle John and Aunt Kelly's bed and breakfast-- The Tuck You Inn in Winamac, IN. Cute place!! It was an old hospital.... and Uncle John (who also owns his own construction company) finished the house with wood floors and awesome rooms with antique furniture! It was amazing!! I can't wait to visit my hometown again and stay there! Here is a pic of what it looks like:::

Funny story #3 (and last pic): So Trav and I have always  played a game called DICE...not sure what the real name is...but we have decided to keep track of our scores and play for LIFE! I bring this game (usually) when we eat out or on trips. When we were waiting for our food at the airport on the way home, we started to play. **NOTE: We have made up our own little rules to make the game more interesting. For example, if you roll three 1's then that is worth 1000 points....or if you roll five of the same number--that is worth that number times a thousand (five 3's= 3,000).

Ok...so Trav was messing around on his iTouch...not paying attention...and he ROLLS FIVE 4's! YIKES! He got 4,000 points! Which made him start to win again!!! NOT FAIR! He has around 270,000 and I only have 250,000. :{ It is fun to play...but what luck!

Thanks so much for checking out some of the pics that I took while visiting my family. I will probably share more later...I kind of overdid it today--it's probably more than you wanted! I just had lots to share:}

I hope you have a wonderful day--I'm off to work on some cards and other projects!
Until next time~

Contest....check it out:}

Wow--I just found this website: www.canadianscrapbooker.com/handson. They are having a contest to win  some supplies from Just Cre8!!! Check it out!!

I am taking a break from working on projects....I'm so overwhelmed that I am disorganized! Has that ever happened to you? Just today, I "thought" I had a doctor's appointment...but it was scheduled for Wed. EH! I guess I should get back to work and try to figure things out!

Thanks for visiting:} Until next time~

H{ippity} Hop...and holiday pics

Hello friends:} Oh how I've missed visiting with you!! Going on vacation is great...but I miss crafting and looking at blogs! Oh so good to be back!!

Welcome to the first H{ippity} Hop for 2010!! I am in love love love with Ippity! If you want to start at the beginning of the hop...click HERE

My card today is for the IHHC4. Eryn challenged us to "resolve to do something NEW". I had to think about what I wanted to do that was NEW...I was going to start using some of my embellishments that I have laying around. **NOTE:: I am a huge huge HUGE hoarder! I buy and buy and never use anything....eh! But then I saw how much paper I had...and got an idea. This card has three things that are new to me: 1) I used a limited number of supplies. I only used stamps, ink, and paper [and glue of course]. 2) Since I confessed to hoarding embellishments...I might as well tell you that I buy paper in bulk! If I really really like a paper...I will get as many as I can. I know that is silly! But I feel like I might not ever get to buy it again- like it will go "out of style" or "out of print". So the paper I used is from Bazzill Basics- Sparkle T18 and Kraft White Lattice. **NOTE:: I have another confession...I used to call it Brazil Paper! YIKES! and 3) I normally take about an hour or more to make just one card (I am a nut for trying to make things perfect). So I resolved to try a simple simple card. This card took me about 10 minutes! CAS!! **NOTE:: I usually say that I will create a card that is CAS...but that is never how long it takes (the idea was 10 minutes!)...this one really was CAS! Maybe even 9.5 minutes! HA:}

L-R: Kadence, Travis, Jackson

My newest niece, Alli Marie.

My newest nephew, Kannon Lee. He was the happiest!

I will have more pics of my vacation posted tomorrow--lots happened up in Indiana...and I have some funny stories to share:}

Thank you thank you thank you for visiting today! I hope that you had a blessed holiday season and a happy NEW YEAR!
