Growing In Unity Day #4

Hello, friends:}

Today I am featured over on the Unity blog--ACK! It's so exciting! I love love love Unity!! Be sure to stop by HERE to read my little blurb--but visit there after you read my post:} 

One thing I like to do when creating cards is get inspiration from scrapbook layouts or pages. I was inspired by a page awhile back...and made this card from my memory. I love the three paper rectangles with the stitched fourth rectangle. I also love love love these papers [Cosmo Cricket]. I also LOOOOOOVE my Unity and Ippity stamps that I used! I used Unity's Little Boy {airplane}, Garden Variety {tag}, and Happily Ever After {sentiment}. I also used Ippity's banner {Love In Return}. I just love mixing my stamp sets! I ended up donating this card to Operation Write Home. 

I also made this fun little wedding favor gift for the Paper Crafts April 2011 Gallery  challenge {wedding projects}. I love the soft colors of the flowers that will grow from these seeds! I made my pocket with kraft paper (using pinking shears on the top) and then I stamped my journal image {Unity} with heather ink {A*Muse Studio}. After it dried, it looked a bit too pale, so I glazed it with my Sakura pen. Then I cut out a window to see the flowers and added a transparency behind the window (which you can't really see--sorry!). I also used my Unity Love Grows stamp set for the sentiment. Added a bit of rhinestone...and it's done:) I am actually giving this to our friends this weekend--they will be celebrating their anniversary! Perfect;) 

And I couldn't let another Limelight challenge go by and not play along!! It's been awhile since I had time--the deadline was extended because Mandy had a baby!! CONGRATS:) I used this sketch to make a get well card for a "deer" friend who had surgery yesterday. I love that little deer {Unity's Believe In Miracles}!! And that bird--yep, I used it on my homemade brad HERE. It's from Unity's August 2010 KOTM, and it makes it perfect for the Unity monthly challenge {birds}. LOVE!! I also used Unity's Heart Times and Small Things Matter Most for the sentiment. LOVE:)

I apologize for not being on since SUNDAY!! Been kind of lazy lately! But I'm back in the studio!! While I was resting and hanging out with Trav...I saw two blog awards that I received as well as this win over at i{heart}art!! Tiff picked me as one of the top 3 for her Sketchy Sunday 001 winners! I entered this card. Love that Unity stamp set [Heart Times]! 

Thank you thank you thank you, Hannah from Sparkly Pink Star for this Stylish Blogger Award. Hannah has so many beautiful cards on her blog--and a video! I need to learn how to make those! FAB! Check her blog out HERE! For this award, I have to share 8 things about me::


1. I LOVE the color green
2. I LOVE the DT teams that I am on {Play Date Cafe, EtsyInspired, All Things Unity}
3. We recently got iPhones--and we can now TEXT! Long story--I'll share later why we didn't have it for four years!
4. I love love love The Office--I enjoy shows and books that connect events and shows together. 
5. I don't like movies--if I do watch one...it's got to be a chick flick. No action-I can't take it! Sorry Trav!
6. I am a neat freak--I cannot leave things out on my desk for more than the duration of the creation. I get antsy and can't get in the mood for crafting. It makes for lots of trips to the drawers and shelves holding my supplies--but I have to have a clean desk:)
7. I LOVE to sing--that's what I do if I'm not skyping while I craft. 
8. Favorite saying or response right now-- "Is that necessary?" I say this to Trav all the time (in reference to lots of things). I can't think of an example right now--but it is funny when I say it;)


And...I just noticed that Hannah gave me two other awards--WOW! I'm honored! THANK YOU!

I love how this card turned out! I used the Limelight sketch and chipboard challenge, Off The Wall Craftiness colors, and the challenge for ATU#23! LOVE it! I used my Unity Life Becoming set for the sentiment and the flower stems are from Ippity's Faith Blooms set. LOOOOOVE it! I was also inspired by a Mish Mash creation--she is so fabulous! 

**NOTE:: I promise those buttons are orange--the sun was going down!! I will try and get better pics soon!

FWF Jan. 21--lots of challenges!!

First of all--happy happy FRIDAY! It's FWF over on the Unity blog! Be sure to stop there for a complete list of participants! And check out this flyer from Unity! Oh how I wish wish wish I was rich--I would order each of the new sets! 


Second--WOW! I cannot remember a week that I was able to craft like I did this week! I was sewing and gluing and just LOVIN' it!! Here is what I created! 

 

This first card was created for the CARDS {butterflies}, Wee Memories {ribbon}, CR84FN {color story}, FWF60 {inspiration card by Cathy} challenges, as well as the Paper Crafts Jan. challenge {v-day}. That's a lot of challenges! I never thought this one little card would fit--but it does!! LOOOOOOOOVE that ribbon [available at Limelight]. LOVE those ruffles. I used my Unity butterfly [Remember Happiness] and sentiment [When I'm With You] stamps. I also used my Ippity music [Music of my Heart] for the corner circle. LOVE how this turned out! 

This next card was also created for the  Wee Memories challenge. I also am entering it for the Cupcake Inspirations challenge {photo}. I have to admit--I had this card designed and made last week....but I didn't like the paper I used...then I saw Emily {Unity GDT} and her pair of shoes [photo to the right]...ACK! Great minds think alike! However, I only had one and no gem in the center of the glitter...so I am CASING that idea! LOVE how her shoes look! These high heels are from Unity's To The Moon and Back set. LOVE it! And you might remember...that zebra print is actually tissue paper:} LOVE IT! 

Sentiment::: High heels were invented by a woman who had been kissed on the forehead. Christopher Morley

This card is so cute! LOVE all the layers--I try to be more detailed...and sometimes it works! This card is being entered into the CardPatterns 98 challenge. I love this paper [available at Paper Maniac]! I wanted a masculine card--that could be birthday, love, have a great day...for almost any occasion. LOVE how this turned out! I used the Unity 6 pack essentials for the owl along with Unity's What A Hoot! set for the sentiment. 

**NOTE:: I wanted to be a bit different--and I used staples instead of gems for the top corner. I really like how it turned out! REALLY! 

 My last card was created for iheartart's {sketch} and All Things Unity {mini card} challenges. I love this paper! And this stamp set [Unity Heart Times]. LOVE IT! simple!  This mini is only 3 x 3 inches! Don't forget to play along with us--click HERE to link up!

I was super inspired--but loved this little gnome the most! There were several gnomes at Muffa. I just loved them all...and then I started thinking about the stamps that I ordered from Limelight. I had the perfect little gnome stamp set! I made this yearly journal for 2011--this year it's all the the "home" for us. So this stamp set...the inspiration piece...and my yearly journal fit perfectly! LOVE when that happens! Love that little gnome!
