Layers of Color-Nov. Guest Designer post1

Hello, friends:}

**NOTE:: My good friend, Rochelle, has renamed my post to LAYERS OF AWESOMENESS! So sweet of her:) And thanks for the support and love, Rochelle!!

I'm back with another Layers of Color Guest Designer creation! This is my last post as a Guest Designer with LOC. This month has been filled with joy and blessings as I've created with LOC images and with the team! I cannot believe I was a part of this super talented team!

For my last project, I wanted to make another teacup creation using  Melisa Waldorf's teacup template {free template HERE}. I was again inspired by my Mother-In-Law. She really REALLY blesses me!!! So I made her a Mother's day card....I'm thinking ahead:) I used my new images from Nina B. Designs' Sweet Silhouette {sentiment} and Fairy Wishes {butterfly} stamp sets. LOOOOOOOOVE how this turned out! I was inspired by a picture found on Inspire Lovely's blog. I knew instantly that I wanted to make stacked teacups and use those beautiful butterflies for my card. I also used some paper from October Afternoon {5 & Dime}. LOVE LOVE LOVE! This is probably my fav project for LOC!!!!!!
That's it for me today. Be sure to stop by the LOC blog and website! I know you will enjoy their creations as much as I do! And check Layers of Color out on FB

Finally, I would like to say THANK YOU--THANK YOU so much, Layers of Color, for this wonderful opportunity to share my creations using your images/stamps! I cannot wait to use more of your stamps and play along with you again in the future!!! THANK YOU!!! God bless!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Be blessed:}

Layers of Color-Nov. Guest Designer--FREE PDF file:)

Hello, friends:}

I'm back with another Layers of Color Guest Designer creation! I had a so much fun working with my stamp sets for today's project. I focused on BABIES!!! Since my newest nephew was born last week, I thought I would share another Prayer journal.

Here are a few photos of Knox--he is almost one week old! So precious;)

I love the scripture about raising your children up to know the Lord {Eph. 6:4b ...bring your children in up in the training and instruction of the Lord.}. I wish sometimes that I knew Him more when I was a kid! So important!! A solid foundation for your children--so that they follow Jesus and know the Truth.

So when I have friends or family give birth, I try to send them a prayer journal. This journal has one scripture and prayer for each day of the month. I created my prayer journal using the Layers of Color Sentimental Banner stamp set along with Polka Dot Parade images. I love this red, yellow, aqua color story from the patterned paper. I love that this journal could be for a boy or a girl--however, I would probably give it to a boy!
So sorry for the horrible pic--these papers are GORGEOUS in person--super hard to take photos at night!
Here is an example of a prayer from this journal: 27. Thankful: "Help my children live lives that are always overflowing with thankfulness and always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ." Eph. 5:20, Col. 2:7 And because LOC has been so nice to me--I would like to share with you my PDF files for the prayer journals...for FREE! **These are PDF files that save as a JPEG. If you have problems, please let me know! I can send them to you in an email:)

That's it for me today. Be sure to stop by the LOC blog and website! I know you will enjoy their creations as much as I do! And check Layers of Color out on FB! If you haven't stopped by the LOC Tea Party Blog Hop--click HERE! There are TWO FREE amazing templates available for you!

Layers of Color-Tea Party Blog Hop

Hello, friends:}

The LOC DT is having this blog hop in celebration of the release of Spellbinders NEWEST die templates: Decorative Dress Forms {designed by Nina Brackett and Laura Campbell} and Nested Tea Cups {designed by Laura Campbell}!!! LOC will be offering both these new dies February 1, 2012--or you can purchase them NOW through Crafters Home participating stores

Come join us for a spot of tea and enjoy these tasty treats for the eyes!!

For my creation, I used a template {availble for FREE below} by LOC's Melisa. I knew that I wanted to make a tea cup card for my MIL---so I made the tea cup a pocket to hold a tea bag that I created using coordinating patterned paper. Then I stamped a sentiment for the tea bag tag using LOC's Teacup Blessings {My MIL is the MOST amazing woman I know--she is giving, loving, kind, gentle, understanding, supportive, and so much more! So that is why I picked this sentiment--my cup runneth over because of her!}. LOVE!! Then I thought I should add a silhouette from Nina's new stamp set Sweet Silhouettes. PERFECT! I think my MIL will love it!
Thank you for spending this lovely time together with us today! What a joy to be here with you! Please help yourself to these lovely tea-inspired FREE TEMPLATES exclusively from Layers of Color!!!

Layers of Color has wonderful tea-inspired art stamps to go with your tea cup projects! You may need sweet sentiments and verses, a spoonful of honey with Teacup Blessings, and of course some flowers and lace doilies to decorate the table! We'd love to see what you do with these unique templates and art stamps! Please share your delicious creations on the LOC's FB page!!!

I'm the last blog on the hop--thank you so much for joining us! Be sure to stop by the Layers of Color blog for more information or to start the hop from the beginning! Here is a list in case you get lost:)

Layers of Color-Nov. Guest Designer

Hello, friends:}

I'm back with another Layers of Color Guest Designer creation! I had a blast working with these images for today's post!!!

This week, Trav and I will be celebrating our 5th year anniversary. I have been reflecting on our favorite verse for our marriage: A cord of three is not quickly broken {Ecc. 4:12b}. And because Trav is the SWEETEST-- I used my Honeysweet LOC stamps!

For my first project, I created a belly decoration for a honey bear container. I love this sentiment and that large bee image. SOOOOOOO precious! I used some old My Mind's Eye papers--EASY!
Then Laura suggested that I add a bee around the neck of the bear--GREAT idea!! So I added another bee around the head with some wire!! SOOOOOOOOO cute:)
I also created a small card for Trav. I just couldn't help myself! "How sweet it is to be LOVED by..." TRAV! It is:) So I used some Pink Paislee papers and die cut a heart in the center, stamping the sentiment around the negative space. EASY!! And perfect for my sweet:}
That's it for me today. Be sure to stop by the LOC blog and website! I know you will enjoy their creations as much as I do! And check Layers of Color out on FBAnd if you haven't already checked out the LOC Ornament blog hop--click HEREHERE is a free ornament download! LOVE:)

Layers of Color-Nov. Guest Designer

Hello, friends:}

Please scroll up or click HERE for my SSS release post:)

I've got some great news to share with you today--I've been asked to join the Layers of Color team for the month of November! I'll be guest designing for them each Wednesday! I cannot wait to share my creations with you!!

I'm so thankful that I found LOC--what an amazing company! If you haven't been over to their website, click HERE! If you haven't checked out their blog, click HERE! I love that everything LOC does--it's for God's glory! LOVE LOVE LOVE my Lord! One of my favorite bible verses is Proverbs 11:25  Those who bless others are abundantly blessed. WOW!

So for today....I reflected on my bible verse and the word GIVE {or bless}. I've created two gift card holders. Simple! I traced an old holder that I had, cut it out, and folded it up. I used my Layers of Color Reindeer Waltz and Sentimental Banner stamps sets. I l-o-v-e those reindeer images! I clear embossed the one on red paper--I thought it looked fancy! And I decided to use just a regular black dye ink for the other. LOVE! I love these banner images too--there are FOUR to the set! PERFECT for making each card holder different! I love the color combo for these gift card holders--I just love everything about them:)
That's it for me today. Be sure to stop by the LOC blog and website! I know you will enjoy their creations as much as I do! And check Layers of Color out on FB! First, some ornament inspiration!...

I wanted to make several ornaments for this hop because I wanted to share some different designs using my Layers of Color stamp sets. For my first ornament, I paper pieced this beautiful Holly Angel image. I've used all metallic papers from The Paper Co. I added some gold ribbons and pearls for extra embellies. I love how this ornament turned out- simple but shimmery and elegant!
Next I wanted to share something different...I was thinking about how my brothers and I would set out hay for the reindeer on Christmas Eve. I wanted to make something for families to share this tradition. So I made a paper cone for Reindeer Food using my Reindeer Waltz stamp set from LOC.

I used THIS tutorial to make the cones. However, I didn't use double sided patterned paper. So here are some pictures of how I created my cones.
Here are some close ups of my ornament cones.
Optional ideas for cones: You can add as many cones as you want for each reindeer--and you can fill it with hay, carrots, etc. You could use these cones for little goodies for the kids that you fill Christmas Eve. Or you could have your children write letters to Santa and roll them up in these cones.
