2022: Rainbow Hello [card #109]

Hello again, sweet friends!
I’ve got ANOTHER quick project to share with you today— add alcohol inks, ETC. Paper (EVO synthetic papers) and a vellum rainbow together and you get the most beautiful card to send to a friend! I love how this card turned out.
This was actually a left over piece of EVO synthetic paper that I wasn't sure how to use. I also found this vellum rainbow in my leftover stash. Sometimes it's possible to put together leftover and make a beautiful card:)

That's it for me today.

THANKS so much for stopping by!

Be blessed ❤️

2022: 16 years Engagement Anniversary [card #104]

Hello again, sweet friends!

Today Trav and I celebrate the day he asked me to marry him, 16 years ago!

The story is detailed with so many fun facts… let me see if I can share a few:
1. I knew the day I met him that I wanted to marry him.
2. I found a note with some lyrics on it at his house about a month before he asked me to marry him. I didn’t know what they were or what song it was for… but I knew the date was 6.1.06 (as those numbers add up to my favorite number: 13).
3. His grandma went into Hospice on 6.1.06, thwarting his plans. She passed away three days later.
4. I knew he was one day going to be my husband— how soon, I didn’t know but that didn’t matter. I bought him a 12 string guitar that he said he wanted on 6.14.06. When I talked to the sales person on the phone, I told him that this was a gift for husband but I wasn’t engaged yet. He was shocked and laughed at me. I knew Trav would ask me and I wanted to be prepared.
5. That night, on 6.14.06, I met Trav at his house so we could go help our friends prepare for their wedding in a few days. We were also singing “Bliss” at this wedding. He sat me down at his kitchen table and started to sing a song written for me. It ended with him getting on his knee and asking me “Will you be my wife?” (This rhymed with the word in the phrase before, “life”.). Of course I was crying as he pulled a gift bag up (it had a hole in the bottom) to reveal the ring HE designed and created (it is SO big!!! ). He got on his knee and asked me to marry him. I yelled out “YES! This is fabulous!” LOL! That was the in word of the year. He also gave me a shirt that read “Soon-to-be Mrs. O’Gwynn”!!! Then he told me the story about how he asked my dad.
6. My dad traveled a lot back in the day and he was somewhere out of the country. Trav tried to get ahold of him several times before I got to his house. Trav said he was so nervous. Dad finally picked up and Trav told him what was going to happen that night. Dad said “yes” but also added that Trav was “a stand up citizen”. LOL
7. After Trav gave me the ring and shirt, I told him I bought him a gift too! He was shocked and amazed and couldn’t wait for it to arrive in the mail.
8. On our way to go see our friends (which now we were VERY late to our appointment with them) we called my mom. She was in Wisconsin and had no cell service. I called Dad and he was excited.
9. When we got to our friend’s house, it took them at least 10 minutes to see the ring on my finger! It wasn’t’ a small diamond— they were just focused on their wedding and preparing! LOL!
10. We finished helping them around 10pm and finally had dinner. The only place open was Perkins.
11. We sang “Bliss” at our friend’s wedding a few days later and everyone said we were singing it to each other instead of the bride and groom! Oops! We were in love and ready to get married too! LOL!
12. Trav’s guitar came way before the wedding. We decided to get our engagement photos with it. When I walked into his house to meet him for our shoot, he told me to help him put his new guitar away so we could get going as he wasn’t ready just yet. I opened up his guitar case and inside were two sets of diamond earrings that he designed, each a quarter of a carat and totaling one carat. He had bought me some engagement earrings! I wore them for our photos and still do to this day!

Ok… I know this story is long (and I’m sure I’ve missed some details). I love our love story. It’s my favorite ❤️

**You can see my engagement ring in the background. It has a large diamond in the center, diamonds down the side and front/back. I love it! I wish I could wear it more often— being an aqua fitness teacher makes it hard.
I’m sure I’ve bored you enough for the day. That’s it for me today. I’ll be back with MORE creations SOON!

THANKS so much for stopping by!

Be blessed ❤️

2022: Marriage Week Day 2 [card #35]

Hello again, sweet friends! And Happy Marriage Week❤️

I'm continuing to celebrate my love, marriage, and favorite man, TROG, this week! I actually love love love celebrating him:)

Marriage Week Day 2: after yesterday's card (HERE), I couldn't stop playing around with my Etc. Papers EVO Synthetic papers and Ranger alcohol inks- it was still on my desk so I had to play a bit more:)
I really wanted something masculine so I picked green and blue hues. The hearts are die cut from yesterday's scraps (I don't throw anything away! LOL!). This card also has a bit of a hidden detail but you can't really see it due to the pretty alcohol inked background; in person it's just stunning!
**NOTE to self: Don't use a pierced background design on an alcohol inked background!
Trav's gift for today is a golf towel--- long story short: he has lost at least 6 of these towels. I always need to have them available in case he comes home after a round and can't find the current towel🙃 Another simple gift that will make him smile.

That's it for me today. I hope this card inspires you to get creative today or to celebrate your love and marriage❤️

THANKS so much for stopping by!

Be blessed ❤️

2022: Marriage Week Day 1 [card #34]

Hello again, sweet friends! And Happy Marriage Week❤️

Trav and I have celebrated Marriage Week before (you can read about it HERE- I didn't really go into detail about this celebration...basically it's a week to celebrate the union of husband and wife. I like celebrating longer than one day like our anniversary or Valentine's Day.) While I like celebrating our love for a week, it's not something we do each year as I like to make it a surprise for Trav [very similar to when he celebrates my half birthday, which he did again this year! 🎉].

This year for Marriage Week I'm celebrating Trav and the blessing he is to me! I am truly blessed to call him my husband, best friend, companion, and MORE! His card for day 1 includes a bit of alcohol ink, a few mistakes, and a fun little present:)
I really do love how this card turned out, mistakes and all:) It also matched his little gift that I got him- a red sharpie marker for marking his golf balls. See?! Celebrating and giving gifts doesn't have to be a BIG thing... he loved his new marker and the card!
That's it for me today. I hope this card inspires you to get creative today or to celebrate your love and marriage❤️

THANKS so much for stopping by!

Be blessed ❤️

2022: Using scraps for some CAS cards #6-15

Hello, again!

I'm back with the promised scrap creations!
I posted HERE yesterday about some sympathy cards that I created using some Etc. Papers Synthetic EVO Papers and alcohol inks (these backgrounds have been sitting in my "To Make" pile since April 2021!). I love how these inks blended on the synthetic papers that I couldn't throw the scraps away; they were too pretty. So I created some very simple CAS cards with them--- and to be honest, CAS is super super HARD for me to do!
I do think these are very CAS... a simple sentiment, highlighted scrap paper, and some gems... clean & simple!

That's it for me today. I am going to see if I can create a few more cards this weekend as I have only made a small dent in my "To Make" pile from 2021! #2022goals include getting that pile off my desk! LOL

THANKS so much for stopping by!

Be blessed ❤️

Alcohol Ink + Under the Sea Baby card

Hello, sweet friends!

I have absolutely missed being in the studio and creating!!! It has been SUPER crazy here the last two months! I barely had time for anything. Here's what I've been up to:
  • I had to change my schedule to study for my AEA exam (MORE details on that later)
  • I started teaching aqua fitness classes at our community (6 group classes a week and 2 private classes)
  • I am still in a boot so that is interesting figuring out aqua fitness instruction on the deck and trying to rest it
  • I also was asked to create some special cards for TT's birthday promotion a week ago (click HERE for details).... and basically that has been L.I.F.E.
All of that to say--- it's goooooooood to be back in the studio! And the *best* news will be shared soon!

Anyhoo... back to my creation for the day🙃 I was asked by a sweet friend to create a baby card with an underwater theme, using teal, blue, green, purple/lilac colors. I was given a month to create it, and it took 29 days! LOL!

I absolutely loooooooove how this card turned out. It started with some Etc. Papers Synthetic EVO Papers and alcohol inks. Now, if you know me... then you know I love bold colors and lots of inks when working with this technique! However, I went light with the ink; I even "watered it down" using alcohol. I thought it would be prettier if I created a soft look for a baby card.
Next I cut the background up and created a second paper using bolder/additional alcohol colors for the critters. I stamped the images using ICT Stazon Jet Black ink and the My Sweet Petunia Misti. I couldn't have done it without this little gadget!
I fussy cutting each Paper Smooches sea themed image (all sets retired 😞) and die cutting the baby sentiment by The Stamp Market
Finishing was easy- adhere and layer every fussy cut and die cut image... and DONE! I love how this turned out!
That's it for me today. I have at least 15 different backgrounds using alcohol inks just waiting for me to create with them! So there will be MORE to share soon! I also have about 50 birthday cards to complete as well. LOL! Now that I have the time, I will post more:)

THANKS so much for stopping by!

It's a happy day (when I get to play with alcohol inks🙃

Oh happy day, friends!
THANKS for stopping by today!

I created this card awhile back but haven't shared it yet. I'm hoping I get to have some crafty time in the studio soon! #SAVfact: I've been working on my AEA Aquatic Fitness Professional license and I've only got one and half chapters left!!! But with that means and large test, getting certified in CPR, figuring out insurance as a personal trainer and working in our community, etc. It's been taking all my time. PLUS-- my left foot is still not feeling great. HOWEVER-- my right shoulder is MUCH better! Praise the Lord!!! 🙌🏻

Anyway... enough about me (I don't want to waste your time!)! Here's today's card. Simple combo of some of my favorite items: alcohol inks, Etc. Papers Synthetic EVO PapersThe Stamp Market Oh Happy Day stamp and die set  and gold paper/embossing powder/ink. DONE!
THANKS so much for stopping by! I hope you have a happy day! THANKS for always lifting me up and encouraging me- your friendship and love mean so much to me❤️

🌈 MORE Rainbows 🌈

Hello and welcome back, sweet friends ❤️
I've been MIA (again)... well, because I can't catch a "break". I did catch a break but not in the way I wanted. I was placed in a foot boot (again) about two weeks ago. I stepped down on my left foot about a month ago and had the most intense pain. I knew that feeling from when I tore the 4-5 tendons in that same foot. I knew something was wrong but I didn't do anything about it for 30 days. #stubborn I'm supposed to be in a boot until April 8th.

And just the other day I pulled the sheets on the bed to make it and pulled/strained/tore a muscle in my front right shoulder muscle. Oh man does it hurt to lift my arm!

See why I say I can't catch a "break"!!?!?! I was doing so well with starting to workout daily, walking more, eating right, and getting back on track after a year of depression... well, now I'm on the couch most days. 🤦🏼‍♀️

But enough about me! I want to share some happy rainbow cards I made a month ago. These are some of my favorite! I loooooooooooove this Etc. Papers Synthetic EVO Papers!!! It's so smooth and takes the inks perfectly!

I created another rainbow using the The Stamp Market Rainbow of Happiness dies. It created a negative and positive image, which means that I *HAD* to use both! #idon'tthrowanythingaway 🙃 Both cards were simple to make- create rainbow inked design using Etc. Papers Synthetic EVO Papers, die cut rainbows, place pieces on card base, stamp sentiment, think about it.... die cut small hearts from scraps (again #idon'tthrowanythingaway! LOL!) and finish card. SOOOOO easy!
The second card is definitely my favorite of the two:) I love the hidden sentiment. I also love the difference of the rainbow paper- it's the SAME piece for both but it looks so different!
That's it for me today. I do have several more cards to share--- I'm in a rainbow mood and am making over 50 birthday cards that are multiple shades of each color (making a rainbow)! It's taking me forever to finish them! LOL! I want them simple but simple cards and I do not get along; thus, why it's taking so long. 😂
I also have this set of alcohol inked backgrounds to use for creations... GOODNESS! I need to find time to get into the studio this weekend:)
Thanks so much for stopping by! And thank you for leaving me some love on my posts!!! You make my day! THANK YOU

Be blessed ❤️

Alcohol Inks... MORE:)

Hello, friends!

Sorry I haven't been posting my creations as I said I would. It has been a bit busy, and as of today I'm back in a boot for my left foot (it seems that I am in it at least once a year). I will be in this boot for at least a month, which will slow down my schedule and maybe I will have more time to get in the studio!

I promised MORE alcohol ink creations.
I've got 5 to share, but today I will only share two. One that I made and one from TRAVIS!!!!!!!!!! His card was the inspiration for my card 🙃

I am still loooooooooooving the Etc. Papers Synthetic EVO Papers. I cannot tell you how beautiful these papers are!! They make the alcohol ink blend and move about perfectly; they are smooth and a good weight; I just love these Synthetic EVO Papers! And the best part was that these Synthetic EVO Papers make it easy for a "newbie" to play around and create a simple card!
A few weeks ago, Trav wanted to create a card for his best friend, Chester (NOTE: his wife, Jess, is my best friend❤️). Chester and Trav would golf often so a golf theme with the Paper Smooches My Guy stamp set was perfect.. Trav's card is very simple- a few drops of Ranger Limeade alcohol ink on the Etc. Papers Synthetic EVO Papers, finished with a stamped image and DONE! **Sorry I don't have a better photo- we finished working on this card late and Trav gave it to Chester before I could get a good photo the next day! LOL!  **NOTE: I am still working on my card for Jess! 🤦🏼‍♀️

Fast forward to this week-- it was Trav's 41st birthday 🎉 I used the same stamp set and inks to create a similar design of a golf course. I did add a few alphas to make the sentiment "Bugle Mini Golf" in reference to a golf trophy that Trav and Chester battled for each time they played golf together + a golf thing Trav and I talk about all the time (Bugle Golf). These alphas were die cut from The Stamp Market Little Letter Board dies. They were the perfect size for this card!
That's it for me today. A simple card and an inspired card. All created using my new favorite papers, inks, and stamps/dies!

THANKS so much for stopping by! Another alcohol ink creation will be shared this weekend! Can't wait!

Be blessed ❤️

ONE More (and a mini)

Hellllllllllo, again!

I'm really enjoying blogging again. I hope you are enjoying my creations!

I'm back today with my last two (for now) alcohol ink cards. I said it before but I will say it again- I LOOOOOOOOOOOVE these inks! I can't believe it took me this long to try them out 🤦🏼‍♀️🙃
These cards were made using just the blue alcohol inks and the new Etc. Papers Synthetic EVO Papers. I didn't do anything fancy other than drop the ink and watch it blend, move around. I did add some gold shimmer and then let the inks dry overnight. I had a beautiful larger piece but had to cut it down to create my first design. It's simple and perfect for just about anyone ❤️
I thought I was done with all my samples but I saw this little blue scrap and knew I had to create a mini card:) I really liked the right side of this alcohol ink background- the way it dried and left the white is so pretty. I die cut a heart with a sentiment inside and added a vellum strip with another sentiment. The card size was a bit wonky- too skinny and long however I didn't want to cut the pretty design off; so I added one more sentiment under the heart die cut. I know it doesn't really balance this card design... but I think it looks good enough to say "DONE"! **I even know who I will be giving this mini card to today:) #TROG
THANKS so much for stopping by! I hope to get into the studio this weekend while Trav works. I've got about a thousand card designs I want to make... just need to find the time!

Alcohol Inks... my favorite

Hellllllllllo!
I'm back, and I'm super excited to share this card with you because it's my FAVORITE design! It's actually really simple too! LOVE LOVE LOVE

Like the last few cards that I posted, I was playing around with the new Etc. Papers Synthetic EVO Papers. For this round I was playing with green and blue hues. I just kept adding inks and blending them with 91% alcohol, as well as some The Stamp Market Shimmer ink (you can see that shine in the photo above). I walked away for about a day to let it dry and to think of a card design (for some unknown reason I can't think of a design right away for cards using alcohol ink backgrounds! LOL! I think it's because I don't want to cover up the beautiful inks! LOL!).
I knew this card had to be simple- so I die cut a sentiment from gold and vellum, layered them together, and finished the card by layering the center panel on a gold and white card base. DONE! Well... that was until I thought it needed more- you can't go wrong with a green heart (die cut from the alcohol ink background scraps). FUN! SIMPLE! And now it was DONE!

THANKS so much for stopping by! I said I only had one more card left, but I forgot I've had two cards laying on my photo station/cabinet for a week! LOL! I will be sharing those cards next week. And I hope to get into the studio again this weekend--- MORE to come:)

Alcohol Inks and the WRONG black ink

Hello again-- I'm back with ANOTHER alcohol ink creation!

I am in LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE with the Etc. Papers Synthetic EVO Papers. I love the smooth texture and how it holds the alcohol ink so beautifully. I need to purchase more papers because I'm running out! LOL!

I've had to learn a lesson (or two) as I've started to use alcohol inks more. Today's lesson has to do with the correct black ink. For this card, I created the background and sat on the design for at least three days! I just thought that beautiful plumb, pink, and teal (not the original color names) needed something special to make it pop.
Well... the idea hit me and I didn't think about what I was doing! 🤦🏼‍♀️ I started stamping a gorgeous flower from The Stamp Market on the inked EVO Paper using my favorite TSM Black ink. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! This paper needs a solvent ink like ICT Stazon Jet Black. OH MAN! But it all worked out because I sprayed some Workable Fixatif to the papers and it helped the image "set". #lessonlearned
I really do love how this card turned out. I doubt I could recreate it... but I might try:)

THANKS so much for stopping by! I've got one more card to share using alcohol inks... but I'll be making more this week!!! I can't wait to share them with you!

Alcohol Inks... the darker side

Hello, friends!

I'm back sharing another alcohol ink card that I created a few weeks ago using Etc. Papers Synthetic EVO Papers
This card was NOT my favorite... until I took the photos! I love the papers by Etc. Papers Synthetic EVO Papers ... just not the alcohol inks.
I used some Brea Reese alcohol inks and they were awful. They puddled and got muddy/black. OY! I was so disappointed. And I kept adding more and more and more of the inks but it was just a messy puddle (you can see it in the photo). But then I added some alcohol drops (91%) on the darker spots and they started to clear up, creating a beautiful color below. I really do like the dark green with the pink and blue and hint of orange... but get this! I only used the following colors: coral, magenta, blue! I don't know where these colors came from but they sure turned out pretty! LOL!

That's it for me today BUT I have MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORE alcohol ink backgrounds to share! I will be posting more this week.

THANKS so much for stopping by and for all of your love and support! You know how to make my heart smile and full ❤️

Be blessed!

Rainbow Hugs🌈

Hello and welcome back, sweet friends ❤️

I've been having so much fun getting back into the studio!! I recently discovered alcohol inks and have made over 10 cards with all the backgrounds that I created. It was fun and easy to do. I hope to share most of my creations this week:)

This card was created last in the bunch but I wanted to share it first. LOL!
I worked with a rainbow set of colors (listed below) and used a straw to blow the inks around/to dry them. I am really liking this rainbow design 🌈 I also added some gold shimmer to the inks, as well as some gold foil as the inks were drying. You can see some of the shine in the photo below.
To be honest, I wasn't sure of this background design at first. I had to think about what I wanted to make for about a day. Then it hit me- a vellum rainbow with a sentiment and gold hearts. 🙃 I stamped the sentiment right on the die cut rainbow and then added it to the card. I finished this card with a few gold hearts, another sentiment, and a white thread/bow. EASY! And sooooooooooooo pretty!
The only thing I don't like about this card... the clear foam behind the vellum. There isn't anything I can do about that. It's CLEAR foam but you can still see it. Eh. That's a minor detail! LOL!

Thanks so much for stopping by! And thank you for leaving me some love on my posts!!! You make my day! THANK YOU

I hope you will stop back by later this week for more inspiration and alcohol ink creations! Be blessed ❤️

ETC Papers: Synthetic EVO Paper 🌈

Hello, sweet friends! Welcome back!

I am so happy to be back in the studio! I have soooooooooo much to share, but I won't overwhelm you with it all at once 🙃 My goal (you might have read about several goals in my last post) is to post two or three times a week. I have a few ideas of what I want to post about so be on the lookout for more crafty goodness coming soon!

Today I am thrilled to share that I was asked to create some projects using the Etc. Papers Synthetic EVO PapersSynthetic EVO Paper is beautiful- it's smooth, easy to cut, and when you use it with alcohol inks the results are STUNNING! *I'll add a photo of this beautiful white paper once I get home today!

SAVfact: I've never worked with alcohol inks until last week😬 I had no idea what I was doing. I went out and bought some pretty ink colors and started playing around with the Synthetic EVO Papers. I went for bold colors my first round- straight up solid, one color... with some gold and shimmer added:)
I knew immediately I wanted to create a rainbow using my practice sheets- Never throw anything away!!! LOL!
I pulled out The Stamp Market 3x3 rainbow cover die and started mixing and matching my die cut rainbows to create a beautiful arc. There was only one problem- I only had 6 bold, solid alcohol inks samples created... I needed a 7th! That's when I got the idea to pull out some Etc. Papers Holographic papers to complete my arc 👍🏻
Supplies listed below

I had so much fun playing with my alcohol inks making bold colors that quickly after making these cards I felt that I was "experienced" enough to start mixing more colors/etc. 🙃 I have three or four more cards to share later this month that will show a mixture of colors and even just a mix of color hues. I'm in love love looooooooooove with all of these samples! Here's a sneak peek.

THANKS so much for stopping by! I can't wait to share more of my creations with you each week. #itsgoodtobeback
