2026: Get Well and REST [Card #164]

Hello again, sweet friends! 

 

I didn't make this card because I am ill/sick... I did it for this guy! 

This is my younger brother, Carrel (pronounced Carl). He thought it would be fun to try to "one-up" my health issues by breaking his right foot! I can't figure out who has it worse- him or me! LOL! I wish he lived closer as I would have gladly have given him my knee scooter (I think I've had three in the last 10 years)! 

 

I couldn't pass up this opportunity to send a card to Carrel to help encourage him to REST and heal!!!! He doesn't do well at sitting and resting so he needed this card! 

And because he has a pink cast (he did that for his daughter, Alli) I *had* to create a pink cast on this little bunny's leg. If I had a small knee scooter image, I would have used that other than crutches! LOL!   

 

Oh--- and my older brother, Leander, has been hurt in the last week too! Apparently he didn't want to be left out of the loop! He injured his ribs. I know what that is like too! OY! We are quite the threesome🤕

For today's card, I was actually inspired by a card that I submitted for a magazine! I absolutely LOOOOOOVE neon colors...and I LOVE them on this gray paper.... and this NEW ME Many Thanks set is exactly what I needed for this design! I LOVE this set! It has so many sentiments that can be paired up.... LOOOOOVE x10000!

Again... I'm trying to use more papers from my stash-- so I pulled out some Basic Grey PB&J papers for this card (SOOOOOOO appropriate since the set we are highlighting today is FOODIE  LOL!). I wanted to get fancy with this little critter from the ME Up & Away set, so I fussy cut him, added flocking, and then put the mini spoon from the ME Foodie set in his hand! ACK! ADORBS! I love the diag for the sentiment and how I used the plate on the envelope for the recipient's name. LOVE LOVE LOVE this card all around! 

ACK! Look at the flocking-- SOOOOOO cute! And I love that this little guy is holding a spoon!

I pulled out my fav papers by Crate Paper for this card-- I LOOOOOOVE the flowers with the stripes and the color combo is my FAV!!! I wanted to use one of the ME Message Bands as the title for this card... and then I masked the ME Papa Love, So Breezy, and On Target for the rest of the sentiment. LOVE how this turned out-- SUPER SUPER cute!

I'm trying to use up some old papers from my stash and esp. ones that are holiday themed (I never really make holiday cards.... ESP. Halloween ones. LONG story... no one has time for that!)! I'm in love with the polka dots and the dark purple papers that I've used for this card-- I think that May Arts Ribbon matches perfectly and really helps make that sentiment pop! I used several images from the ME Bootastic set. I love that little mummy-- how cute is he!!!!!! ACK! And that glittered bat is one of my favs.... he actually is quite detailed but when I added glitter it covered it all up. Guess I'll have to use it again on another card to show you what I'm talking about! LOL!

I'm in LOOOOOOOOOOVE with my card for today's hop! I love these journaling card by Echo Park-- and the little embellishments that match (I actually bought those six years ago! HOOOOOORAY for using something out of my stash!)!!! I used the NEW ME Foodie and Many Thanks sets for this card. I also added more sentiments from the ME Type It and Cup of Wishes sets. LOVE LOVE LOVE how this turned out! I just wish the photos looked better:( 

This first photo is a new one from this morning-- hope it shows the colors better.

Mama Elephant August Challenge

Hello, friends:}

Today is a special day over on the Mama Elephant blog!!! There's a NEW challenge that starts right now!!! Be sure to stop by HERE for more details and to play along! 

I loooooooove inspiration photo challenges-- so of course I joined in the fun with the ME team! I was inspired by the following: 

• black/white striped pillow- love b/w! 
• the gold dinosaur- I didn't even see this at first! When I did see it, I instantly knew I wanted to add some gold glittered chevrons!
• layered pillows- I layered a couple of patterned papers together
• XO pink sentiment and pillow- this is where my main sentiment inspiration came from!

I was also inspired by THIS layout by Maggie Holmes-- I love her paper design and that inspired me to try stamping white lines using the ME Basic Borders stamp set on some Basic Grey papers. I also loved her washi tape and dots on the left side of her page-- so I had to recreate that for this card! LOVE!  I also used THIS tutorial to finally use some A*Muse Studio Simple Stick powder-- it works great with glitter! LOVE x10000! Other ME stamps used include Big Words, Full House, and Type It!

To create those diags-- I cut my patterned paper and stamped the Basic Border image several times before attaching it to the card base.

Mama Elephant: Hustle Highlight

Hello, friends:}

Today the Mama Elephant design team is taking a closer look at the Hustle stamp set. Be sure to stop by the ME blog for more details and inspiration!!! 

I think I must have overstayed my CAS welcome... this card looks CAS but it was anything but! It took over three hours to make and I wasted 5 cards and an entire 6x6 paper trying to get the rainbow banner to stamp with my inks! I stamped it 8x on that paper! OY! 

Even though this card caused me some trouble... I think this might be one of my FAV cards yet! I LOVE the white space with that sentiment! I also love the scored rectangle around the edge. And that rainbow paper {Basic Grey Kneehighs} is some of my FAV!!!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!  The best part of this Hustle stamp set is that there are so many sentiments that you can use with other ME stamps and images! LOVE x10000!

Another CAS card for me today! I created this card for a friend who will be ordained as a minister this weekend! I thought this sentiment from the ME Lights Out set was PERFECT for this occasion-- my friend will let her light shine! My favorite part of this card is the neon yellow light with the metallic silver end! SOOOOOOOO fun!

Mama Elephant: Full House Highlight

This card is very simple and colorful! I love the inks that I used for this card-- all pigment and chalk inks. I used the chevron border image from this new ME stamp set to create the bottom design. For extra fun I clustered together the house image along with two word bubbles. LOOOOOOOVE!
