PDCC91

Hello, friends:}

Hoooooray for another fun day over at the Play Date Cafe! We are starting another color story today--and it's one of my favs!!! A color splash--you get to pick the splash:)

Our sponsor is The Twinery and what a great way to add a bit of color in our creations. I went for a fun splash this time....I figured I would make some party decorations. I picked up some black straws at the LTM store and wrapped my twine around it several times closing with a bow. EASY! Each person gets a decorated straw for their drink!
Here's what it would look like with just one--a true SPLASH of color.
I also made some black and white cupcakes for some friends--I figured since I already made something b/w...I might as well add a splash of color:) These cupcakes are cookies and cream! MMMM! I made them awhile back--LOVE LOVE LOVE them! I decorated these cupcakes with black, white, and a hint of RED--this really was a SPLASH of red, maybe just a drop!! LOVE that typewriter {Unity}.
That's it for me....but be sure to stop by the PDCC blog for complete details and prize information! The PDCC sponsor this week is The Twinery. And don't forget to stop by all the other PDCC DT members' blogs-- AMAZING!

And speaking of our DT--this is Fee's last week as part of our team! Fee is super amazing and so creative--I just love her creations! I've been super inspired by Fee's tags lately--LOVE them! She adds great dimension and details on each one....and I personally love her crocheted sweater--I will one day get one made by Fee:) LOVE it!! Thanks so much, Fee, for all that you've shared while being on our team! Blessings to you!!!

Thanks for stopping by! Be blessed:}

RCC12 Button It Up with Sparkle Smith

Hello, friends:}

If you have not been to The Ribbon Carousel Challenge--head over there NOW!! We are starting a brand new challenge today!

This week, Sparkle Smith is challenging us to use BUTTONS on our creations.  Any size, shape, material or color is acceptable.  Even paper buttons if you'd like.
So break out those buttons and show us an exciting way to use them.  Remember your creation can be anything from cards, quilts, sewn items, paper crafts, paintings, anything will work!

BONUS::: This week, we're offering a $10 Gift Certificate to the Ribbon Carousel store.
*** Please remember that your creation must have ribbon, bakers twine, jute twine, lace (basically anything that comes on a spool). ***

For my creation--I broke out a lot of buttons that I had just laying in my button container! Some are Cosmo Cricket, Basic Grey, and just random buttons! I just love that lace {The Ribbon Carousel  store}!! It was the perfect backdrop for that yellow panel. I used a Unity pear stamp just for a vintage feel. I really like how this turned out! LOVE LOVE LOVE it:} I am also entering this in the Simon Says Stamp challenge [anything goes].
The RCC team would love for you to join in the fun this week! Here are the details:
  • Make your creation following the ribbon carousel challenge (sketch, inspiration, style or color) image. Be sure to include some type of ribbon, twine, hemp, lace....basically, anything that comes on a spool.
  • Load your creation up onto your blog or a public viewing forum like SplitcoastStampers, (use the keyword RCC12) with a direct link back to The RCC blog post. Including the challenge graphic isn't a requirement, but sure is appreciated! A participant of our very first challenge didn't link back or mention our challenge and couldn't be named Top Spool, so don't let that happen to you!
  • Come back to The RCC blog post and link in your creation using the Inlinkz button at the bottom of this post. Your image may take a little while to pop up but don't worry it will appear shortly.
  • Be sure to come back the Friday after the challenge ends to see if YOU are a Top Spool! :D

This Challenge will end on July 25, 2011 at 11:59pm EST.

I really hope you will play along! Please stop by the RCC blog for more details, more projects from the RCC DT, and to link up your creation! Also, please head over to The Ribbon Carousel website and check out their products--I just got my order and WOWZA! LOVE all this ribbon:}

Thanks so much for stopping by! Be blessed:}

She made each one different--here are three of her fav designs! LOVE that color story and the way she used the Cricut to create her sentiment! LOVE LOVE LOVE:)

3 challenges, 1 card

Hello, friends:}

I've got a quick post for you! I am down to the wire on this Ippity quotes challenge--but I knew I had to play along:) I am also entering this card in the Unity circle challenge. I just love this sentiment {Ippity Quotes a La Mode}. I masked it several times to get the sentiment in four different locations. I love that twine too {available at The Ribbon Carousel}. Super fun and super easy card!! This is also perfect for the All Things Unity challenge {ribbon/twine}!!! And it might seem crazy--but I was inspired by the yellow jacket over on Moxie Fab's Tuesday Trigger. I love that yellow--but I only had dark yellows to work with! I love that jacket too--SUPER cute! I was inspired by the yellow and black theme. And actually--I'm entering this card into a 4th challenge--anything goes over at Simon Says Stamp
That's it for me today! Be sure to stop back by tomorrow! I will be sharing pics of my friend's creations and more crafty goodness from my studio:)

Pumpkin Spice DT call!!

**POST 2 for Friday, July 16

Hello, friends:}

I am so thankful that I found the Pumpkins Spice website {Shop Pumpkin Spice} and blog! They sell all kinds of fabulous papers {all of my favs!!} at 30% off everything! I love a good deal! You need to check them out HERE! I cannot wait until my paycheck comes--I'm going shopping:}

Pumpkins Spice is also having their very first Design Team call! I knew I had to try out {it never hurts, right!?}. The mission for this DT call was to create a project using two or more of the following paper lines:
Bo Bunny
Cosmo Cricket
Crate Paper
Echo Park
Graphic 45
My Mind’s Eye

As you all know, I love to mix and match my papers and stamps and even stamp companies! I wanted to make a special card, so I used Crate Paper, Cosmo Cricket, and My Mind's Eye for my entry. I loooooove how this card turned out! I really like the mixture of layers and those book images on the left--those are from Crate Paper! And that dog {Unity}--I wasn't sure about--but I love love love him now! So cute:}
The recipe for my card [click on the company name and it will link you back to Pumpkins Spice's website]:::
Paper: (orange grid: Joy Ride collection) Cosmo Cricket; (yellow circles, books: Toy Box collection) Crate Paper; (blue grid, red stripes: Lime Twist-Fly A Kite collection) My Mind's Eye
Stamps: (dog, sentiment) Unity Stamp Co.; (stitching, hearts) Paper Smooches
Brads: (brown, yellow, silver) Making Memories; (teal: Brooke Collection) Crate Paper
Twine: (Brown Sugar: Divine Twine) Ribbon Carousel
Alphas: (Chocolate: Holly Doodle) Pink Paislee

Oh--I almost forgot--another thing we have to do for the  Pumpkins Spice DT mission is state our favorite paper company. I have to say that I have a couple of favorites::: My Mind's Eye, October Afternoon, Pebbles, Crate Paper, and Cosmo Cricket. I really enjoy all the patterns and designs on each paper! This is why I mix and match all the time:}

That's it for me today! Be sure to scroll down or click HERE to see my Paper Smooches decorations for my homemade chocolate chip cookie dough cupcakes with cookie dough buttercream frosting!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Be blessed:}

Nyack and the winter....

**POST 1 for Friday, July 16

Hello, friends:)

I've got a quick post for you today--I'm linking this creation up to the Paper Smooches GDT challenge. I just love these Paper Smooches images--and I love love love paper piecing them! I think PS stamps and I are a match made in HEAVEN:}

I wanted to make a winter scene on top of cupcakes (chocolate chip cookie dough cupcakes with cookie dough buttercream frosting--made from scratch)....but I forgot that the buttercream is more CREAM!! There is no such thing as cream snow! LOL! Either way--I love how these guys turned out. I used my Swanky Snowdudes and Santa Paws stamp sets. LOVE that sign--I used the pole and stamped it twice to make an extra long city sign. I am entering these SWEET cupcakes into the Paper Issues Life is Sweet challenge! I am also entering these creations into the Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes Challenge! LOVE it!
**The reason behind Nyack and these cupcakes in the middle of summer is that my friend, Daria, is moving to Nyack in a week or so. We are throwing her a party tonight to help her get ready for the cold. These stamps made it perfect for this theme!

That's it for me! I hope you are doing well! THANKS so much for stopping by! I'll be back soon with more to share:} Be blessed!
